HTML - How Can I Apply Links To Images Selected In A Form?
Hello everybody,
maybe someone can help me with a problem on my site. There is a form on the page where the user can select images from a dropdown list, it looks like this: Code: <FORM NAME="form"> <SELECT NAME="selbox" SIZE="1" ONCHANGE="imgchange()"> <OPTION VALUE="cards/gifs/deck1">Essential</OPTION> <OPTION VALUE="cards/gifs/fool">0</OPTION> <OPTION VALUE="cards/gifs/magician">I</OPTION> <OPTION VALUE="cards/gifs/priestress">II</OPTION> <OPTION VALUE="cards/gifs/empress">III</OPTION> </SELECT> </FORM> </TD> <TD VALIGN="TOP" ALIGN="CENTER"><BR> <FORM NAME="frm"> <INPUT TYPE="text" SIZE="18" NAME="indate"><P><INPUT TYPE="button" VALUE="show me" ONCLICK="getcard()"></P> </FORM> Now I would like to put a link on each image when it is shown on the page, so that the user can click on it and get the 'explanation window'. How should I write the links when the url should load in a popup window? The link for one image would look like this: Code: <A HREF='javascript:cards("cards/fool.html")' ONFOCUS="this.blur();">xxx</A> Right now I do not even manage to open a link in the same window, let alone in a pop up.. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks for reading! Yatkha Similar TutorialsHi, Just wondering what the best technique is for creating links with image icons? Like this: [icon 16px x 16px] link text Would appreciate any advice offered. Thanks John I'm working on a site with an image gallery which directly links to images. I'd like to modify this so that, when those images are small, they are no longer displayed off-center and on a white background. At some point in the past I think I remember seeing a site that somehow passed display parameters to the browser along with the image link. Is this possible, or am I imagining things? Thanks for any info. (If this turns out to be impossible, I'll be rebuilding the gallery a bit, and any hints on an easy way to do this would also be apreciated.) Hi, as you can tell by the title, I'm having trouble placing 2 image links next to each other on Myspace. If i can post the links and someone can help me, I'd be very grateful. (I'm not trying to promote my band or anything here, no one has to listen) I am wanting this Facebook image: http://s86.photobucket.com/albums/k1...logo_black.jpg linked to our facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Teenag...19513834790706 And this Twitter logo http://s86.photobucket.com/albums/k1...0_allblack.png linked to our Twitter page: http://twitter.com/#!/teenagemaryuk I have already managed to get the Twitter link on our Myspace (www.myspace.com/teenagemary) but I'm pulling my hair out trying to get them next to each other, I've even tried tables to no avail. Any help would be extremely appreciated! I am working on making a website, and learning as I go. I have been trying to figure out how I would make links and images appear in the same section of many different pages using code. Is this possible in HTML/CSS, which are the only languages I have any experience in. If you need anymore information, let me know and I'll add more details. I'm trying to position text, links and pictures to follow one after the other, but it doesn't work. I want to see "Homepage" on the left corner of my webpage "Next" on the right corner of my webpage Unfortunately this command doesn't work properly. <div style="text-align:left;solid 2px #ff0000;"><a href="F:\Webcomic\Website Folder\NWvisuals-Index.html"> Home</a> <p align=right><a href="F:\Webcomic\TheEyeoftheWorld3.html">Next</a></div></p> It makes the "Next" go down a line, instead of being in the same line of the "Homepage". Also, on that vein, is there any way I can align images and text on the same line without using spaces*? As in: <p align="left">Hello</p> <p align="center">Hello</p> <p align="right">Hello</p> But they all should stay on the same line. Any guides, or even links to tutorial about my issue would be appreciated. I've been trying to google for a while, it's becoming frustrating. *I think the problem with spaces is that people with different resolution would see the text in different places than I want them to see. In a form, how do I define a radiobutton so that when it is selected additional form fields ara loaded onto the same page holding the text in other fields? I am using Frontpage 2003 to build my site. So I have a radio group within a form. Specifically, here is my code: HTML Code: <table> <tr> <td><label> <input type="radio" name="question_1" value="Average" id="question_1_0" /> Average</label></td> <td><label> <input type="radio" name="question_1" value="Large" id="question_1_1" /> Large</label></td> <td><label> <input type="radio" name="question_1" value="Gigantic" id="question_1_2" /> Gigantic!</label></td> <td><label> <input type="radio" name="question_1" value="Getting_larger" id="question_1_3" /> It's Getting Larger...</label></td> </tr> </table> So I need to set an initially selected on this radio group. How do I do that? Thanks! Hi all. I have a page that the select box is not selecting the option when selected is put in there. Here is the code. Hello, I'm using this tutorial on creating an ipod-esque "cover flow" photo album for a presentation I'm putting together: http://www.elated.com/articles/cover...ss-and-jquery/ What I'm trying to figure out is how do I make each image a clickable link that will open a url in a new window. I know the code is Code: <a href="URL" target="_blank"</a> but I have no idea where to begin and end the tags. I either need it where I can click on each picture, or the text under each picture so that each one has a separate URL that opens in a new window. thanks Hi guys, new user! I've been having this problem trying to create an external client for a game I play, the form from the website is Code: <form action="/bank/deposit" method="post"> <td style="padding-bottom: 1em; width: 100px"><input id="deposit_amount" name="deposit_amount" type="text" value="100" /></td> <td style="padding-bottom: 1em"><input class="submit-large" name="commit" type="submit" value="Deposit" /></td> </form> From this, it's obvious you can use http://mafialive.com/bank/deposit?desposit_amount=100 to deposit your cash on hand but I'm trying to also pull in the actual value in the deposit_amount input, so that I can just either link or dynamically generate a link that will bank the cash on hand. simply /deposit doesn't work as it seems to require an actual number. Any ideas? I'm rightfully stumped. Thanks in advance! I can figure the rest of my problem out myself, but this one is really getting to me. In a form, I have to have certain radio buttons, or a select box pass a link into the SQL. The problem I am having is this code: Code: ... value="<img src="http:... ">" doesn't work. I have tried changing it to look like this: Code: value="/<img src=/"http:...../"/>" which still doesn't work. So how can I have a select box or radio buttons that when I choose a picture, it will pass that pictures html link to the next phase? How do I write it out? Could someone be specific please? If you don't understand, tell me what you're not getting and I will try and explain a bit better. Hello, I have absolutely no idea how HTML works, but I have a friend who's making a website, and ideally, we would have a list of websites, and when you click the "random" button, it will randomly go to one of the websites in the list. Is there a simple way of going about doing this? Thanks. I work in a call centre responsible for maintaining a database of customer's details. When this goes wrong it is important that we have an effective way to pass customer complaints onto the complaints team. The existing procedure is to compose an email which contains the customers name, what they are complaining about and a few other key details. we also include a screen print of the application used to update the customer records which preserves the state of the customers record when the complaint was logged. This is a vital part of the procedure (very helpful info for ascertaining blame etc.) People currently miss out a lot of details from there emails and I have been asked to make a web based form to capture all this information and generate an automatic php email to the complaints team when the form is submitted. I have got this bit nailed... all that eludes me is the screen prints of the application. My manager was convinced you could ctrl+v the screenprint into the textarea on the form but I was sceptical of this idea and obviously it didn't work. How can I attach images to the form and send them as attachments when the form is submitted? Hey, just a quick question... How would i go about using an image as a select option in a form? i know its possible as ive seen it around on a few sites before, but im not sure how to do it myself. tried the obvious: <select name="stars"> <option value="1"><img src="MYIMAGE"></option> </select> but oviously that doesnt work. any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi, I sliced my web layout in PS. So far so good, I've done about 4 or 5 pages and it's gone fairly smoothly. However I'm having trouble with some coding on a particular page. I want to have a contact form on my contact page. But it's an HTML table and so are the slices. I've tried a couple of different ways to see if I could get it to 'lay' on top of the background image slice, but no luck. Take a look for yourselves: http://www.beemerphotography.com/contact.html Code: <form name="contactform" method="post" action="contact.php"> <table width="450px"> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top"> <font color="#FFFFFF"><label for="name">Name</label></font> </td> <td valign="top"> <input type="text" name="name" maxlength="50" size="30"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top"> <font color="#FFFFFF"><label for="email">Email Address</label></font> </td> <td valign="top"> <input type="text" name="email" maxlength="80" size="30"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top"> <font color="#FFFFFF"><label for="telephone">Telephone Number</label></font> </td> <td valign="top"> <input type="text" name="telephone" maxlength="30" size="30"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top"> <font color="#FFFFFF"><label for="comments">Comments (Type of session(s): engagement, wedding, family, etc. | Booking date if applicable)</label></font> </td> And I've tried this: Code: <table background="http://www.beemerphotography.com/contact/images/info.gif" width="409" height="467"> And also, I have another page that is just not displaying for some reason. I have gone over the code, redone the slicing, redone the coding, and I can't figure it out for the life of me why it isn't displaying anything: http://www.beemerphotography.com/abo...ng/prints.html Beyond placing the ringtone on a website in an audio format for download and hoping your visitor knows how to apply it; is there any way to say have a box to type in your number, the visitor types their number in, and their phone gets a call ~ with a box exclaiming, "Would you like to download and install this ringtone"? Want: ability to type, right on the webpage, phone number, and for it call their phone and begin download/installation of a ringtone? Thanks a lot =)! I need help. Im new at Web design, new at html, and css so i dont know a whole lot I need help applying an opacity to my images and my buttons in either Html or Css. WHich ever you put the code in thanks HELLO ALL! I'm new here. Thank you in advanced. I have a dthml menu on my main page. I would like to apply this same menu to all my other web pages with making one update. Currently I have the same code pasted and and script on all my product pages. If I have any changes to make to the menu I have to go and update all 20+ pages with the changes of the drop down menu. on each of my product pages is there any way to reference this one dthml menu to use...I'm hoping this is making sense? I'm using dreamweaver CS3 and I used Sothink's DHTML MENU creator. I'd like it that when I make a change to the dhtml menu it would apply to all my product pages. Thank you Chris Hi everyone, I hope I have posted this in the right area. This is my first time posting here. I currently have my main pages listed at the top of my site as graphics (see fussybaby.ca). I would like to potentially remove these graphics and use text links instead - I had the graphics designed for me, so I can't just go in and make new ones, however I'd like to change/rearrange the links and add some new ones. So my question is: How hard is this to do? Is this something I need to hire someone to do for me? Thanks in advance for any advice! |
