HTML - Looking For Help (using Link To Show Image On The Same Page)
I'm just curious if anyone knows how to do this.
Basically what I want to do is have a series of links (lets say one, two, three, and so on) and when you click one of those links, the image below those links change to the respective link (if you click one, a picture of the number one shows up, if you click two, well you get the idea). How would I go about doing this? How I want this laid out: Link Link Link [-Image-] Thanks Similar TutorialsWhat I want is to use some html or javascript or something to show the user of my site the exact page they are viewing. Then i would set it up so they could either bookmark it or copy the link. So a normal bookmarking script is not what I want. I need to be able to display the link the user is viewing on the page they are viewing. How can this be done? Hi there, I'm experiencing a strange problem in IE with the show-hide layers behavior. I have 4 layers, each with images inside them which are meant to link to other pages. This works fine in Firefox but not so in IE. The odd thing is that when you hover over the images in IE the link appears in the status bar and if you right click and choose "open link" it does work. The site is here www.patons.org/v2/ and its the images at the top that I'm talking about. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Alex the title makes it sounds really confusing. Ok im making my first website, and i need help with a code, (as you can see on www.dalekblaster.co.uk) i have got a section at the top where the images change from one to another. The code is - HTML Code: // Set slideShowSpeed (milliseconds) var slideShowSpeed = 5000; // Duration of crossfade (seconds) var crossFadeDuration = 5; // Specify the image files var Pic = new Array(); // to add more images, just continue // the pattern, adding to the array below Pic[0] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblasternexttime.jpg' Pic[1] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblaster2.jpg' Pic[2] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblastersjanexttime.jpg' Pic[3] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblaster.jpg' // do not edit anything below this line var t; var j = 0; var p = Pic.length; var preLoad = new Array(); for (i = 0; i < p; i++) { preLoad[i] = new Image(); preLoad[i].src = Pic[i]; } function runSlideShow() { if (document.all) { document.images.SlideShow.style.filter="blendTrans(duration=2)"; document.images.SlideShow.style.filter="blendTrans(duration=crossFadeDuration)"; document.images.SlideShow.filters.blendTrans.Apply(); } document.images.SlideShow.src = preLoad[j].src; if (document.all) { document.images.SlideShow.filters.blendTrans.Play(); } j = j + 1; if (j > (p - 1)) j = 0; t = setTimeout('runSlideShow()', slideShowSpeed); Now i need help because, i want to link each picture on the slideshow to a differnet page or external site, but im not sure how. (but so they can go to different pages not the same one) can anyone help me? I would like to know how to add a link direct to an image page. For an instance, if we know there is a pic : http://www.htmlforums.com/images/smilies/SmileBulb.gif I am just going to give link in any other site or in my site, I want to have a background ads, i.e like we have index.html page, is it possible to have some manual added code on pic embedded page. Just the image must show on, if it is direct linked & the image must show with any manual code or ads attached ? Is this feature possible ? Hi, I would like to write something for a forum or a blog and I would like the URL not to show in the text, but when you click on the underlined subject, it would go to the page you want it to. I see it all the time, but don't know how to not show the URL (http://www.etc.) in the paragraph. I will be writing this in text format, not html format ( I do html all the time) Please help. Thanks. Hi guys! I need to show the content of a html link (<a href>) in an iframe placed into div tags, hiding the content between the divs when I click the link . I do the following : heading.html Code: <a href="http://maps.google.es target="centre">Where are </a> and in the div placed behind of the link , I do the following: index.html Code: <div id="centre"> <iframe src="../html/heading.html" name="centre"> --> <form action="../Fillm" method="post"> ... </form> </iframe> </div> But the page appears me duplicated, one above and the other page behind this one, and when I click the link, the content appears me in the behind page. I would be grateful if somebody could help me, because I am Stuck. Bye Hey guys I need some help regarding a website I made from a template. you can view the site at http://www.goosetrailbnb.com/ The problem is that when you click on the links in the bottom navigation bar, it will only show the page for a second (not properly aligned) and then redirect back to the index.html automatically. If you click the links on the menu up top in the flash header, the links work fine. I am using iframe....so my pages are index.html, iframe_0.html, iframe_1.html, iframe_2.html and so on. I have the links set as iframe_0.html etc for the links in the bottom navigation bar. Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks I am trying to figure out how the user can click ANYWHERE on the webpage, and it will execute the 'Show Desktop' command (like in the quicklaunch -- for windows XP). The webpage will be used as the desktop background. I want the user to be able to click on the desktop background, and all other windows will become minimized. An onclick function perhaps, or something that executes "Windows key + M"? Please help, this is for my job lol Hi, Is there any possible to show a HTML or ASP page inside the table. I have tried with frames but i dont know how to execute exacltly. Thanks How would I have a page open once only no matter what domain the person types (google.com or google.com/faq, etc.)? I have a link on the page that if the user clicks it, two other pages open, but the first one is the one I need to have "replace" the page so that it doesn't appear anymore. I'm almost embarrassed to post this. I've done this before, but I must be missing something... Here's the deal: I have a div with an id "note": HTML Code: <div id="note"> See us at the trade show! Call 555-1234 </div> In my CSS page I have these properties for the "note" id: HTML Code: #note { background-image: url(images/note.jpg); clear: both; } The problem is, the text shows, but nothing I do gets the image as a background to show. The "images" directory is at the same level as the div's file, but I've tried the url with and without a beginning backslash. The image is just a single color, orange jpeg created in Photoshop. Any ideas what I'm missing anyone? Thanks for any help! Would anyone be able to tell me why this image won't show? I have no idea! <tr> <td align="center"><img src="logo.jpg" alt="Flowers by Design" height="100" width="760"></td> </tr> hi people, Just a basic request t6o look over my code and let me know if im going wrong and also i t seems to be fine when i create it but when i load it to the server this is what i get.. http://www.basicproduction.co.uk/ here is my code HTML Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>Website coming soon!!!</title> <style type="text/css"> <!--body {margin: 0px;}--> </style> <meta name="keywords" content="Basicproduction, Liam Carlin, VJ, Video Production, motion graphics, Live performance"> <meta name="description" content="Video Production, Motion Graphics, Live Video performance, Basicproduction, VJ Liam Carlin, Liam Carlin"> </head> <body style="margin:0;background:#000;"> <div align="center"><a href="http://www.myspace.com/basicproduction" target="_blank"><img src="../Image/BP_Holding_page.gif" alt="" width="720" height="600" border="0"/></a></div> </body> </html> where could i be going wrong? (the image in question is 1/3 of the way down floated to the right of 'Snowshoeing and Winter Walking' It works if I pop the div inside the h2 tag but doesn't validate... http://www.colletts.co.uk/new_winter/slidedivcmh.html Code: div.floatedright { width: 238px; float: right; margin-left: 21px;} .righttext {width: 100%; display: inline; text-align:right; color: #211d70; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:11px; line-height:normal; font-style:italic; float:right; font-weight:normal; letter-spacing:normal; text-transform: none;} HTML Code: <div class="clearer"></div> </div> <div class="floatedright"> <a rel="shadowbox" href="img/snowshoeing_in_the_dolomites_arabba.jpg" title="Ideas & Information, Maps & Route Laminates" class="option"><img src="img/snowshoeing_in_the_dolomites_arabba_sella.jpg" alt="Snowshoeing on the Sella Shelf above Arabba" width="238" height="267" longdesc="http://www.colletts.co.uk/images/colhol_map.jpg" /></a> <div class="righttext">Snowshoeing above Arabba</div> </div> <h2 class="minortitle"><a href="http://www.colletts.co.uk/winter/winter_snowshoeing.html">Snowshoeing</a> and <a href="http://www.colletts.co.uk/winter/winter_snowshoeing.html">Winter Walking</a></h2> <p>And yet this area is not the exclusive terrain of skiers. Away from the ski fields, a separate winter paradise unfolds for walkers, snowshoers and cross-country skiers. Delightful trails meander alongside rivers and streams, through woodland and across winter meadows between enchanting Tyrolean hamlets and villages, which huddle around the spires of their picturesque churches.</p> <p>Higher up, snowshoers experience the exhilaration of virgin snow on a labyrinth of waymarked routes, traversing the hidden snowfields, which undulate between a seemingly unbroken rim of spectacular peaks. Here, you could hear a pin drop, but for the vocal appreciation that persists amongst walkers and is the inevitable result of such an inspirational situation.<br /></p> With the help of javascript im making a bookmark button. To show the button i use to img src to link to the correct folder/file. When i test the bookmarker on a test website it works perfectly, but it doesn't work when i copy/paste the code to the real website. The test website folder looks like this: test.html images/favo.png The real website looks the same as the test website: index.php images/favo.png The bookmark code is: <a href="javascript:bookmarksite('MyWebsite', 'http://www.MyWebsite.nl')"> <img src="images/favo.png" alt="bookmark" width="47" height="33" border="0" /></a> There is also some javascript code in the <head> but it's not necessary to post the code here because the bookmark script itself works. The 'real' website shows me a 'can't find image'-picture, which obviously means i've made a mistake linking to the .png file. Hopefully someone can help me out here because i'm puzzled. I've double checked the names of the folders and files so no mistake there. edit// Ok; i came up with the idea of adding a <base href> to the <head> of the index.php The entire code looks like this: <head> <base href="don't know what to write here"> </head> <body> <a href="javascript:bookmarksite('MyWebsite', 'http://www.MyWebsite.nl')"> <img src="images/favo.png" alt="bookmark" width="47" height="33" border="0" /></a> </body> I'm supposed to tell the browser where to look. In the img src i've explained where the favo.png is. The problem is that i have no idea what to write in the <base href>. When i access the ftp i have to click through several folders to get to the folder of the 'real' website. When i write the names of the folders in the <base href> the problem remains. Right click on the 'can't find image' it gives me an url of the website: http://www.MyWebsite.nl/MyWebsite/images/favo.png Which isn't the same as the folders i have to access on the ftp server. The order of the folders on the ftp server is as follows: public_html/MyWebsite/templates/MyWebsite/MyWebsite/images/favo.png Must be someone out there who can help me solve this html problem. www.jessicaloewen.com You'll see at the very top that the alternate text "menu" shows rather than my jpg Why is this and how do I fix it? If you click "view image" it will open the proper image in a new menu. Hi, i am restarting a site. I have the old HTML in text docs that I saved. I am using Cpanel. The home (index.html) page worked fine. But, from there I am trying to add another page (about_us). So what I am doing is creating a new file, and naming it about_us.html. Then I edit the file and paste in the code. But when trying to view the page as site.com/about_us it doesnt show up. But if I type site.com/about_us.html it does show up. The new file is displayed right above the index page in the file manager and all... I don't want our visitors to have to type ".html" at the end, they won't be likely to remember to anyway. I have no idea why it's doing this because I don't remember doing it before. The navigation bar I used previously used to work but now the links in it don't work because they dont have ".html" at the end of the link. (ex.<a href="http://www.site.com/about_us">About us</a>). hi guys, ive got a quiz box (its rubbish but its for an assignement) and atm my results pop up in an alert box, how would i get the results to be written into a div on my html page? thanks for any help. sam Code: var ans = new Array; var done = new Array; var yourAns = new Array; var explainAnswer = new Array; var score = 0; ans[1] = "b"; ans[2] = "b"; ans[3] = "a"; ans[4] = "c"; ans[5] = "b"; explainAnswer[1]="Roar is Blackburn's mascot"; explainAnswer[2]="John Coleman is Accrington's manager"; explainAnswer[3]="The picture was infact David Beckham"; explainAnswer[4]="The golden oldie Ryan Giggs was PFA Player of the year"; explainAnswer[5]="The reason why Answer 5 is Blah Blah Blah"; function Engine(question, answer) { yourAns[question]=answer; } function Score(){ var answerText = "How did you do?\n------------------------------------\n"; for(i=1;i<=5;i++){ answerText=answerText+"\nQuestion :"+i+"\n"; if(ans[i]!=yourAns[i]){ answerText=answerText+"\nThe correct answer was " +ans[i] + "\n"+explainAnswer[i]+"\n"; } else{ answerText=answerText+" \nCorrect! \n"; score++; } } answerText=answerText+"\n\nYour total score is : "+score+"\n"; //now score the user answerText=answerText+"\nComment : "; if(score<=0){ answerText=answerText+"You need to learn some more"; } if(score>=1 && score <=1){ answerText=answerText+"Bit more practice needed"; } if(score>=2 && score <=2){ answerText=answerText+"Bit more practice needed"; } if(score>=3 && score <=3){ answerText=answerText+"Neither bad or birlliant.
