HTML - Problem With Iframe Cannot Focus External Object
hi all,
i included "http://www.mapsofindia.com/pincode/index.html" page in my web page & now want to focus on search zip code table but don't know how to focus on that table.can any 1 help. I am waiting. Similar Tutorialsi need to keep an iframe in focus at all times, AND i need this to work in IE 5.5+ and Firefox if other browsers are included with the same snipplet of code, i'm not going to object! i've tried the below script which keeps the iframe in focus when clicking on the base html page, but still goes out of focus when a viewer clicks on the flash object. <script> document.getElementById('myIframe').focus(); document.getElementById('flashcontent').blur(); </script> thoughts? chris<pixelmonkey> I have a page where i want to remove the page from an iframe, but not from the parent document. How? Example code: Code: ... <head> ... <style type="text/css"> body { background-image: url("back.png"); } </style> </head> <body> ... <iframe src="frame.html" name="frame"> </iframe> ... </body> ... How? What I want to do is have an iframe or something that contains only a portion of an external website. Specificically, I want to only include the search results of an ebay search URL. I can use an iframe, object, or server-side include to include the whole page in my page; however, I can't figure out how to access the dom on those objects so as to locate only the search-results div. It must be doable, since I can see that dom via firebug, but I can't seem to access it programmatically myself. Any suggestions? Hello, I was told it's better to use <object> to nest an html file inside another html file, rather than using iframes. My question is, how do I via a link target the <object> to make it switch html files? The following code works in Firefox AND validates as XHTML 1.0 Strict: <object codetype="application/java" classid="java:lake.class" width="423" height="567"> <param name="image" value="lovetide.jpg" /> </object> It displays the image, and the applet simulates ocean waves on the image. However, this code does NOT work in IE (no image displayed at all). Any idea how to do this in IE in a way that will still validate? I did some searches on the Web, and found an article that pointed out IE handles <object> differently from other browsers. Based on that article, I tried this: <!--[if IE]> <object classid="clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93" width="423" height="567"> <param name="code" value="lake.class" /> <param name="image" value="lovetide.jpg" /> </object> <![endif]--> <!--[if !IE]> Not executed by IE--> <object type="application/x-java-applet" classid="java:lake.class" width="423" height="567"> <param name="image" value="lovetide.jpg" /> </object> <!--[endif]--> Still works with Firefox but not IE. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. Bill Hi, I have an activex control which loads with object tag. I use the windows registry key value to load the class. When i run the code from a local machine it works fine, but when i upload to a unix based server, the controls do not load. Is there something I am doing wrong? Here's the link to my test web page with a short slideshow embedded in it. http://www.prestigekitchensandbaths.com/test/index.html The slideshow movie is in FLV format, and it works fine in FF, Opera and Safari. Funny thing is that it works fine in IE when I test it on my desktop (Windows XP), but it won't work at all when I test it in IE on my laptop (Windows 7). Any idea why that would be? I'm using the FLV Player to play my video, as it gives me nearly all the parameters I was looking for, it doesn't require any scripting, and it's open source. Also, it seems to work with all the major browsers while not forcing me to use the EMBED tag, which is deprecated now and shouldn't be used. But it still boggles my mind why it would work in IE on one of my computers but not on the other. I wanted to know. I have in the site of player okay? He for example now plays a song now with someone presses on connection in the site then this opens the page that he requested but the player does not play only when that blast opened he starts more this time to play. Thx for the helpers thank you for taking the time to help. Being very new at HTML codes, I almost got it where I want it. The problem I have I can't see one of the objects in the web page. I have an issue with my iframe I can't quite figure out. I have an iframe that is displaying a Google map with no scrollbars (scrolling=no). I want to click a link on my main page and display other data in the iframe that does scroll. Problem is I am not sure how to specify for it not to scroll when the map is displayed and to scroll when the other data is displayed. Does anyone have any ideas how to do this? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks! Hi everyone. I am totally new here and kinda new to html. I have built my site using paint and notpad so it's pretty basic. most of the codes used are codes i have found using google. anyways, on my site i got an iframe containing an external text based browser game and has been working for a while, untill recently... i think the games creators has changed some coding so that the same second the my page containing the iframe loads it automaticly redirects you to the game itself and away from my site. anyone know what has been changed and maby a way to work around it? hi all. I am working on a partner site for a rigging company, site located here. i'm using an iframe to display the content, which displays everything perfectly in firefox. however, if i switch to internet explorer, the first page loads fine, but when you link off to any of the other pages the iframe expands out from its div and overlaps the div on the right. any help appreciated! I have created Iframe with source of another domains web sites. So i dont have control over target attribute of their sites. Some links on sites get open in primary window rather than same iframe. Is there any solution to this problem ? Thanx Hello, I made a site and created an image on which I use area shapes to create a menu. When I press a button in the menu, the corresponding page should load in the iframe 'main', but it just loads in the center of the page in stead of in the center of frame (respecting the boundaries of the frame). http://users.skynet.be/fa227919/interface.htm http://users.skynet.be/fa227919/main.htm Can i make a site and have a search tab, and when he for example writes SHOES and click search they all the sites is showing on SHOES. <This were hard to explain> I found a site who use that function (this site was just a example.) i know this was dificul but try to understand Hello , i have a small problem with iframe content width.
