HTML - Iframe Load Issues In Ie
on my website's main page, http://flyerflies.com , i have an embedded remotely hosted iframe video player. the iframe loads up fine, but the trouble is that when the iframe loads up in IE, the browser window automatically scrolls downward to include the entire iframe. that wouldnt be a problem except for the fact that it scrolls so far that my main banner is skipped over and not seen unless the user manually scrolls back up.
is there something i can do either with IE or with the iframe code itself to stop this from happening? here is the code... Code: <iframe width="480" height="360" frameborder="0" src="http://flyers.nhl.tv/team/embed?hlg=20072008,3,132"></iframe> thanks in advance! EDIT: ive also noticed that this auto-scroll does not seem to happen with some text-only iframes that i have included on this page. http://flyerflies.com/main/fansearch/assets.html Similar TutorialsHello, I have created a page that has a number of images on it as well as a large flash file. I have a little image that comes up while the flash file is loading so that is ok, but the problem is I'd like to specify the order in which item on the page load because the flash file is stopping the rest of the page loading properly. Do you know what I mean? For example i'd like my header to load first and the other images and when they are finished loading then the flash file can start. I'm sure I have read it somewhere before but cant find it anywhere. Every other problem ive had has been solved here so I know someone will have the answer! Thanks again, in advance. Hi, I have an html page with the following structu Code: <html> <head> </head> <body> <iframe> //some links here </iframe> <div> //something here </div> </body> </html> Now when I click on a link to a webpage inside the iframe, it loads the webpage inside that frame. How do I specify: 1) to load webpage in a different iframe from the one that contains the link 2) to load webpage in the "frame" that contains the iframe with the link, i.e. in this case: load the linked webpage instead of the page that contains the iframe with the link. I realise this is probably quite straightforward, but I'm new to this stuff. Could someone please help me out? Thanks! Reference: http://test.tarashryniw.com This page is laid out with 3 columns all using CSS div's. Pretty much each "area" that is enclosed within the gray border lines is its own div. To make sure that the three columns line up at the bottom, the vertical height of each div is specified. The total vertical height should be 809 px and is such in the left and right columns. The divs in the center column also add up to 809 px (including border thickness). However, I have two iframes in the center column, the one with the youtube video embeds and then another one below it where people will be able to select their video of choice. The div and iframe height of the youtube video are exactly the same as that of the youtube <object> embed tag, which is 344 px. I think that this section is working properly. I want the bottom div with the video selection feature to have a height of 250 px, and that is also the iframe height for the bottom iframe. Doing the math, this would mean that the top div in the center column should have a 199 px height to perfectly line up with the side columns. Now I'm not sure if the problem is the iframes or div heights, but using the math I described here in internet explorer the bottom iframe comes up slightly short of the other two columns and in firefox the bottom iframe goes long. This actually also happens if I just comment out the iframe code for the bottom and leave it blank. Anybody have any tips? Thanks! I have an iframe on my website, and I want an external link to open my main page and then open a specific page in the iframe, a page other than what is specified in the <iframe>tag, is this possible? Problem solved. OK...I'm honestly stumped. http://www.trekandromeda.com/chat.html The button on this page leads to a popup which contains an iFrame linking to an external IRC chat client. This chat works fine on Firefox, Safari, and Opera and IE7 -- on my computer. However, some of my users have reported a problem with it; they reach the popup's opening screen, which asks for a Nickname selection, and then it goes completely blank except for the chat's logo up in the corner. So far it seems to be an IE problem, although it works fine for me and for at least one other person that I've talked to; I've tried having them adjust their security settings to allow iFrames, though that is clearly not the problem because this same iFrame at http://www.trekandromeda.com/chat/chat.html works fine for them. Is there something involved in the opening of the new window that is causing difficulties only for certain people? I'm completely baffled by this. Help, please? :-D This is issue has been bugging me forever! Plus, I'm sure you guys are sick of seeing this topic come up. I don't know why but I cannot get my flash mp3 player to load properly into an iframe. Here is the site: http://duffyartwork.com. All I need is for the mp3 is to simply stop reloading everytime a user browses to a different page on the site so the song stops refreshing. Can someone please just give me a straight forward answer for this. I hate to beat a dead horse but it would be so awesome not to have to worry about this anymore. Ive attached the source code and marked the spot where I believe the code should go... Thanks a million in advance! Hey guys I'm new here, as I found this forum on google. I've run across a little problem or big problem so to speak. I have coded my website and it will load in FF, but not Safari or IE. It had an php function wrong the other day, but I have since fixed that and now I just a white page. Here's a link to the site(don't mind the simple, crappy layout) http://s2roots.com/random/done/ Please any help would be great, this is a project due by Wed. hi, i've a very simple html page, where i have an iframe. The problem is that i want to add some text below the iframe. however, my text keeps showing up on the right hand side of the iframe. i've looked at the tutorials discussing the tags available for iframe, but surprisingly, none seem to relevant to this. Code: <html> <body> <table border="0" cellspacing="10"> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="left"> <td valign="top"> <iframe src="mySource.jsp" height="700" width="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="auto"></iframe> </td> </table> This should be displayed below the iframe but actually gets displayed on the right </body> </html> any help / guidance in this will be much appreciated. thanks in advance! I have 2 IFrames on a page. I am going to end up with a long list of shows to catch-up on. Is there a way I can embed an IFrame with the list, and when you click on a show, you it will change the Playing Show http://tiny.cc/catchup <---The page I am referring to. Hi! I've been cracking my head trying to solve this: How can I insert a iframe [i.e. 300x200px] inside of another iframe [i.e. 700x500px] and pull different web content n each one? kind of concentric iframes or like a 'Donut iframe' Now here is my problem. I'm not familiar with other laguages then html and a little bit of javascript and I wanted to make a site for me and my brothers photography company. I currently using dreamweaver and have figured out the way I want to make this site. I tried using ordinary frames, but I want the website to be aligned in the middle and I could make that happen. That is why I went into iframes and a regular table on the index page. My problem now is that I have several iFrames and I want a link from one to open in another. http://www.trans4mind.com/personal_d...e/iframes3.htm here is a link for this to happen, and the simple solution is to name the frame and then target the link. but I have tried that and when the link is from one iframe to another it won't work. If the link is on the index page and target the iframe then it works. Do you have any idea why this happens? I know it's possible since the link above does it. So. I was havin problems with png files (the transparency issues with IE6 and lower) so had to redesign the site ....so that now the page is basically a bunch of cells with sliced images inside each one. unfortunatly when the page loads, some cells load faster then others...meaning the page kinda loads by pieces....i am looking for a solution to this. 1. either how i could have designed it better to begin with. 2. how i can hide the images until all are loaded. 3. how i could just generally speed things up. the site is at http://www.meshowventures.com/brutal...mance/main.htm thanks!! Hi guys, my first day here + i'm new to web design. i'm trying to learn html from the scratch and trying some simple tutorials. i faced a bit of a problem. I have the following code to display some web site : <html> <body> <h1>This is my Main Page</h1> <h2>This is a heading2</h2> <p>This is some text.</p> <p><a href="page1.htm">This is a link to Page 1</a></p> <p><a href="page2.htm">This is a link to Page 2</a></p> </body> </html> problem is as soon as i add <img src="imagename.jpg"/> to the code above, it just doesn't work and when i try to load the page i get a new window popping up that tells me "C:\....path.... can not be found" why? how can i load an image to the site? where should i be saving it? and are there constraints concerning the size? thanks in advance... cheers, Lina Hi, I use dreamweaver 8 to create my website and for some weird reason, my site loads from the right and jumps in the center when I use mozilla firefox to open it. It is fine with internet explorer. Do you know what the problem is? It's driving me crazy. Thanks. www.eloangear.com I was wondering if it was possible to set us a code so that when someone is looking at my site in say Internet Explorer is would direct them to a site that displays the page how I have it set up for IE for them and one say for firefox and say safari. Thank you in advance, I appreciate it! Hi, I was wondering if any one could tell me why my page is not loading and why it seems to want to load an active x control when I have not put one on there Thanks for your help okay so i have tables built with images set as the background property of the table sections to created a rounded graphical appearance to the tables. the problem is that when the page loads without being cached on the clients end for the first time it builds the site in a choppy method. you see each image come up one at a time and it builds the tables, after its cached that goes away until you dump your cache in your browser. so what im wanting to know is, is there a way (other than server side compression) to reduce or remove this choppy load time, so its just like.. blank page then BAM! full page, like a way to force precaching or make it so fast that you cant visually see the tables being built before they are cached? www.wiffleague.com/main.php so heres some things i tried: - making the images as small as i know how (they could be smaller i guess, im not sure how to do that though) - reducing the amount of images to the bare minimum required to render the tables properly - removing redundant html code from the tables such as 'width="100%"' from some of the td fields when a prior row already has the width set properly, thus the columns still align properly but there is less code to process some things that are not suitable solutions: - get a faster server - put less content data on the page - only use _____ browser - use apache's gzip compression to force the images even smaller than they already are during transmission then the browser decompresses and renders them Can anyone tell me why this page will show with Firefox but won't load or show with IE? http://www.bestsellersworld.com/reviewtest.htm |
