HTML - Working On A Html Ebay Auction Template, Very Confused
Hello everyone, this is my very first post here, you guys have a great site.
Okay, basically I am computer illiterate and I need some help from you guys on my ebay auction template. Here is a link to one of my auctions. As you can see, it looks somewhat old and needs revision. I need someone to help me make a new table or whatever it is called. I want this auction to look good, look professional. I need anything, something to make it not look so boring and I have no clue where to start. This template is what I use to list all 900 of the parts I have active in ebay. From the part that says description inside the grey bar, all the way down the the part that has our store link right above the item pictures. Here is a link to the part that needs to be changed: here. Im sure its an easy process, but I am just not too sure how to change it. The guy who made it before me is no longer with us, so I am stuck. Even a finger in the right direction would be great, I have no clue on how to change the way those tables and and borderslook. I am willing to compensate anyone who can help me with this problem. All I want is a good looking auction that is both professional and stylish. I am going to include the html in a post right below this one. Thanks, Jason Similar TutorialsHi all This has probably been covered before but I cant find the answer when searching these forums. I take a great deal of time designing my ebay auctions for the classics cars I sell but want to protect them from being copied which has happened in the past. I know its probably not possible but I do recall a site that encrypted the html code. I appreciated that the advanced users out there would probably get past anything but its the one's who simply copy and paste onto frontpage that I want to protect from. Any help would be much appreciated Cheers Al dear all i've taught myself some very basic html to use in my ebay listings (via turbo lister). at the moment i have an image inserted into the bottom of the listing that shows my feedback and also my terms etc (i use a pic so that i can change the image, re-upload to my server and therefore update all of my listings at once if necessary - i also use other pics so i can use funky fonts). what i'd prefer is to have a tabbed pane at the bottom with tabs for each section of information, e.g. payment/postage/returns etc. and i guess the contents of each tabbed pane would have to be an image in order that i can still update and reload as above? i don't know of any other dynamic update method... i've found LOADS of info on tabbed panes but i can't fathom how to use in the context of the listing template. can anyone help? i'd be very appreciative... thanks, naomi p.s.if anyone's working in this area i wouldn't mind commissioning a whole new listing template/shop design, but not at frooition prices p.p.s. my code (don't laugh, i'm a beginner!!)

<ALIGN=CENTER>

<TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: black 1px solid; Please can someone help me edit my html to get rid of these 'contaminants'? I have a feeling that it's to do with my linked thumbnail pictures... Hi Guys, Just trying to create a template for my ebay auctions to coincide with my new website - www.heavenlyboutique.co.uk As you can see from the ebay template (click here to preview) I've created it to look similar to my main website. Unfortunately I can't seem to get all the table boxes to lineup, e.g. - payment and delivery are in two columns side by side but unfortunately they misalign when you view them in Firefox and IE. I've always come to HTML Forums for help because you guys seem to know what you are talking about and offer great advice, please could you have a look at the html coding and tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in Advance! Hi: We are having a problem with an eBay Custom Storefront template. HTML is not one of my strengths, so if we could get a little help it would be greatly appreciated. At the top of our template it shows our feedback number as well as several icons such as "top rated seller", about me, store icon, etc. This feedback number should change when we get a new feedback, it does not. Everywhere else in eBay the number changes fine and the code looks the same to me. I think the section of code below is the relevant section. The store address is www.connectibles.net if you need to see more code. Or just post a note and I will copy more code. Much thanks, Bill

connectibles is maintained by: connectibles( 6712)

I am working on an ebay template... The images are not displaying whatsoever. Everything is linked properly... look at my html and see if you can figure out what the problem is... http://www.tegbs.com/template.html Hi, i had an existing ad that I made with turbolister, i tried a template and added two pictures and a background, i accidently deleted the pictures off my computer and messed it all up. So i restored everything back and it is still missing on ebay. i should tell you that i was not using a online host just my computer to store the pictures, it seemed to be working fine until being the doo doo i am messed it all up. So i tried again and once it gets online its not showing the pictures. The backgrounds are there but not the pictures. I am so lost. Please any help would be appreciated. The backgrounds are also only stored on my computer but remain online in the listing. Its just the pictures that I am having problems with, maybe it is impossible to be offline and only have your computer as the host??? Not sure. You html people are amazing it is soooooo confusing. Sandi Hi guys, I am having some difficulty trying to use html on ebay listing, i am new to html and its my first time i have tried producing something within it, i have designed it in web expression 4, i will include a link to my ebay listing and explain what the problem is. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=300662175180 Somebody told me my item description covered the whole page and somebody else said they had to view it on a tiny scroll bar to read through it. Can somebody assist me, it would be a god send. Lee Hi, I have put together a HTML page in Dreamweaver for Mac to act as a listing page to sell on Ebay. When I copy this into the description box in Ebay the page appears well ove the Ebay boundaries. There appears to be a specific area within which your description must appear but I can't make it fit. I've tried removing the 'head' and 'body' tags as an Ebay guide says that these are automatically input for you but that then removes my page formatting, fonts, image placement, etc. Does anyone know if there is a specific code that you need to put in to your listing to make it fit the page or if there is anything else im supposed to be doing. Please help!!! Hi I'm kinda new to all this. I can see this being the first question to a lot of questions and hope you guys can help. Firstly... Can I put a code in my ebay items so that the whole advert document (eg. item1.html) Can be externally loaded in. This way I can change the look of all my adverts by replacing the html files on my server and without having to touch ebay at all. Kind regards John Hi all, I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me how the word "knitwear" in this ebay listing (item description) is in a different Font please? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT I've looked in Source and can't fathom for the life of me how they've managed it! The word Giorgio is also in a different font. Many thanks in advance.. Hi all, I have a slight problem with homework, I am supposed to edit my html file, which I did then up load t to the webspace. For some reason I can't get the logo to work and I don't know how to upload it to the webspace correctly so you'll see the work I did. I also have a index.htm file they had me to use. Which caused more confusion..... I'm using core ftp I really wanna learn this! These functions are input (where the computer accepts what is supplied to it), processing (where the computer manipulates the data), storage (where the computer stores the data when it is not needed for immediate processing), and output (where the computer delivers the results of the processing).

HI I AM TOTALY NEW TO ALL THIS AND REALLY NEED SOME HELP I have made some html code for my website to display a form, i used w3schools.com for guidance. The instructor keeps saying that different browsers don't support all the tags in the same way. This makes no sense to me. The whole reason that we had the desktop publishing revolution with standardized page layout and fonts (Postscript) was so that anything printed anywhere would look the same. Now, I'm learning that this is not the case with browsers. Isn't this like 2 steps forward and 1 back? I'm befuddled... Any insight into this lack of compatibility would be welcome. I mean even OpenOffice will read Word documents. Why can't we all just agree on the same standards for our browsers? Thanks for your input! ~Antonio I really appreciate any help with my HTML. I put together a listing on eBay in HTML with a program called Sellercore. It's an HTML what you see is what you get editing program. I don't know how to use HTML all that well so I am not sure what is causing my problem. When I load the html in my firefox browser in "preview my eBay listing" the listing looks good. When I view it in Google Chrome it is all the way to the right of the screen when it should be centered. I have had nothing but problems trying to create this template because every time I view this in my browser something is off. Everything finally looks good, other than it is not lining up. I used the HTML code of another page from someone else/ basically to get the outline/border of my project. Then I deleted everything inside, and added all my own stuff. I hope I have given you enough info as to why my listing is off center. Thanks for any help Hi there, I've created a website in Dreamweaver using templates. When I apply the template to a page and preview it (in IE or FF) the drop-down menu (Dynamic Drive menu) doesn't work. It works fine on pages where the template is not applied though. You can view a page at this temp url: www.flowerweb.ca/sites/tl/about.html Here is a page without the template applied: www.flowerweb.ca/sites/tl/template.html Template is at: www.flowerweb.ca/sites/tl/Templates/template.dwt Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thank you!! Can someone please recommend to me a good site(s) where I can get free HTML templates for websites? Hello, I have a problem pulling external vbscript into an html template. I have various .vbs files written in vbscript, in a function library. Each .vbs file contains many functions that do a variety of things. Every function is documented with the following format; 'Function Name ''Purpose 'Date 'Author etc... What I need to do is create an html template and populate the template with the formatted documentation only from each of the functions. Unfortunately, this isn't as easy as using src=filename.vbs because I'm trying to access the documentation only....not the script itself. Does anyone have any ideas? thanks in advance! -Ken M so i need help with this .. what i want to accomplish is have everything with a width of 750px and each item to go after one another .. i thought a table would make that happen but it doesn't seem like it does .. on some previews it shows that it goes straight downward, but i think on larger resolutions it doesn't. i'm using this for ebay and it's showing up like this which isn't how i want it to look like. can someone help? When you click on the html link that takes you to the full blog page the image is displayed OK. Do you have a suggestion on how to correct the image size displayed in the thumbnail mode? Problem #2 Video screen on right side bar of main page is cropped so can't see full video. I think it is preventing the viewer from access link to Vimeo site. Problem #3 Reduce left margin to maybe 10 or 15 pixels Problem #4 Can the Gallery delay rate be slowed by approx. 1 sec I tried to embed the code here but it was too long. Can you see the code from the above URL? |
