HTML - Screen Positioning On Page Load
Hey, Don't really know exactly how to pose this question, so i'll try to explain it in several ways, and maybe one of you can help me.
I'm trying to find code, HTML or Java, which would cause the browser to automatically start focused on a different part of the page other than the top (as it normally does when a new page loads). For example, lets say i have an image or text several scrolls down on a page. I want the browser to automatically load the page centered on this. Any ideas on how to do this? Any help would help so much.... i tried to search for it, but i didn't know exactly how to phrase it so i wasn't able to find anything. Thanks again. My splash page has a css-centered background image which I would like to make it 'look' like a link, v.g. if you click anywhere on the page, the main page loads. The page is 945px wide, and is fine in IE. But in both Firefox and Safari the page is moved to the left of the screen. Does anyone have an idea of what I have done wrong here? Here is a link to the page:- Website New poster here! Recently been creating a website using HTML & CSS from scratch using Notepad++. I was under the impression that the more flat, or spread out the design, browsers would squish it automatically to fit on the page. Apparently this is not the case. I current have a page where the main content starts 250 pixels from the left hand side of the screen, this causes some of the content disappear of the right hand side of on lower resolution screens. Should I be starting the content at the far left, or is there another web page design convention I should be following? I assume there is a way around this however I can't seem to find it! Any help would be greatly appreciated. These forums are a wealth of knowledge! When I create a test page using DIV and set it to 480 px wide, my iPod Touch does not have it initially filling the screen; I have to double tap it to have it fill the screen. What step am I missing? When the page is maximized on my computer it is all nice and neat but if the screen is not maximized everything falls out of frame. when I tried it on another computer even their maximized page had things out of frame. How can I make all the tables and content stay nice and neat and keep in tact when the page size changes? I have a live of code which controls the auto refresh of each page. Is there any way that I can set this so that when the page refreshes, it loads a different page. The pages are part of a display screen that will show stats and info. I would like to set it so all three pages rotate/change every minute or so. Thanks in advance. the image under_construction.jpg is basically the page itself, it has a size of 1680x1024. As of right now the page doesn't adjust automatically to the users screen. Please help me change the code so that it'll adjust automatically to the user screen Hi, I have a little problem here.. should you visit my site using IE (don't myself ) it will start loading then randomly say "Cannot open <webpage>". I have a little image that comes up while the flash file is loading so that is ok, but the problem is I'd like to specify the order in which item on the page load because the flash file is stopping the rest of the page loading properly. Do you know what I mean? For example i'd like my header to load first and the other images and when they are finished loading then the flash file can start. I have managed to integrate a percentage load meter on my site but it loads after the images have -defeating the purpose- I was hoping somebody could tell me where I'm going wrong.
