HTML - Html Link To Run Local Exe On Flash Drive???
Greetings all.
I have what i would think should be an easy thing to accomplish, but i just don't know how to do it... i have a .exe that is on a usb drive which currently auto-runs when you plug the drive into a usb port... what i want to do is have an HTML file that basically acts as a splash screen, w/ other options, that auto-runs instead... all of which is easy enough for me... but what i don't know how to do is to get a link on the HTML file to run the .exe as opposed to give the prompt to save it... is there an "easy" way to do this? both files reside on the same directory of the flash drive, and the .exe would only run when the user clicks the link... seems like it should be possible since i can auto-run the .exe, but w/ security restrictions, i can't seem to figure it out... Now I'm needing to add hyperlinks to folders on the shared drive on the server, since this is now where everyone will be storing the files they work on. The map drive is on the same server as the website but so far I have been unable to figure out the syntax for the hyperlink in order to be able to open the folder contents. I have an access denied page that I have made up, but I want the page to redirect to a file located in each user's home folder after a few seconds. This basically makes a unique page for each user when something is blocked. Normally I would think to do this in either javascript or using the meta refresh tag, but this appears to be a prohibited behaviour for obvious security reasons. Is there any way to turn this off and allow local redirection? But it does not work. Flash is not displayed. How can I resolve this trouble? My index is an HTML page that has a flash that runs for 5 seconds. After that it stops (on purpose). I would like it to then goto another HTML page. For some reason, I can't find out how to do that. I've just recently created my website with wix.com as my host, so it's all flash, but I would like to change my website to html. I really like what I have as the website so far, but I've found that it runs slow on many computers, so I was wondering if there was any way of keeping what I have(such as design etc.) but converting it to html somehow. I don't know much about web design, so any help would be greatly appreciated. (and I don't mind changing my host if it's necessary, I just want a way to be able to keep what I've worked at without having to begin from scratch.)
