HTML - Needing A Simple Web Template
I'm wanting to re-do the pages in my site, i designed it a good year ago now using frontpage and the site is just all over the shop on different browsers. I don't know how to develop a template myself using notepad, so i've been searching AGES just trying to find a simple web template i can download and make some changes. I feel i'm able to make basic changes using html, i'm no expert but i can make general changes..
I'm just after a simple template and was wondering if anyone could help me out. My friend has a site up and i'm interested in using a similar layout www.irrationalfitness.com (just head to one of the internal pages). The site has a tool bar on the left and information on the right, a header for my logo, and it's simple and easy to look at. The only things i would change really would be the colours, my business i orange and grey. I went to see if the page source would give me a bit of a sample to run off, but it doesn't have any information in it to really change. Does anyone have any ideas of where i can find a template similar to this i can download? Or ideas of how to put something like this together please? This time I'd like to template it so in the future it's easier. What I would like to do, in my html I would like to pull several things from a file on the server. 1 file that would have like: Sitelink1: Sitelink2: ContactEmail: Etc. Then pull that information and popit in the html where I want. I have been searching for a while, and all I have been able to find is a way to insert 1 file of content at a time. Im not even sure what to search for to pull certain fields from 1 file. Any help would be appreciated. of my biggest hobbies. I started this and realized I was working off of the codings I taught myself in 2001ish. So, I am having some problems. The website I have is here : http://romantheatre.freezoka.com . I wanted to put two iframes on the site, one wider one on the left hand side of the gray area to display the information and then one on the right hand side to put the links. The problem I am encountering is that I do not want the frames to be anchored in the top right corner, which seems to be where they are staying. I remember using a code that went something like top="number" left="number" and that shifted the frame down and to the right, but it won't work and every time I search for it nothing about that comes up. I've recently seen people suggesting I try an alternative, so I was wondering if anyone here has a suggestion as to how I shift the iframes or an alternative I could look up a tutorial of online. So, I sat up for 7 hours last night and built my first page with Dreamweaver. I was really happy with it but somehow today I lost it I have all the page content so I can easily replace it and I have a jpeg of the site when I first finished building it so can copy it with no problem, my only real problem is getting the lines back how I had them before, I haven't a clue how I did it the first time and have wasted my whole day trying to get three simple (ha!) lines in place but with no success. I am currently able to make it work it just one of the web browsers at a time. The div seems to be shorter in size in IE. is there any way round this problem? I will be so greatful for any help. Like most anything we do in life The issue I am having, in the front screen, they would like to show our monitoring software, so at first glance you can tell if any servers are up or not etc. using iframes in design mode, it looks great. Orion Hiyas, well I am trying to make an html website, and I got two things I trie to add to my page. One is a shoutbox using direct link code, and in the preview it displays fine, and works fine. Another is a teamspeak launcher I made, just a link and an image. I align one to the right the other to the left, and that works. The problem is, that the one on the right is level with the bottom of the shoutbox on the left, whereas I want them to be a part of two side columns eventually, where they are both the same length etc, not all uneven. I think for now all i want is to go to cPanel, then right to a HTML editor, but every choice seems to leave me with some sort of forced template. I just switched from Sitebuilder to RVsitebuilder and was a little happier with the 'build your own' template... but still there is a template. I want to learn to design my own header, not have some preset thing.... Should I just keep messing with different builders? Try wordpress? (it's Not like i can ruin anything, there is no content up yet to worry about overwriting) Hoping someone feels like answering this tonight How would you add a template to your site with HTML. I was able to figure out how to add: a) the background b) the main header(banner) and c) a few normal pictures I have no idea however how to add the: sidebar, menubar (where about us, etc is), or the footer. Do I just have to slice it all in pieces? Or do I have to add the URL to it too? (If you double-click a slice you can enter a URL, how can I know the URL if I don't even have a site yet?) Thanks a lot! HI Guys, I am making a template using Web 2.0. Everything was alright but when I opened the html files in Dreamweaver again for work. One div in the middle it showed white space. When I viewed it in firefox, it viewed completely and there was no white space. The text was there , everything was there. I dont get it, where did the white space came from. Also, if I view the code view, that specific div is highlighted with yellow color. Also the yellow highlighted div is showing in the design view. I am attaching the screenshots.
