HTML - Is There A Good Detailed Tutorial On How To Create A Dropdown Link Like The Ones Here
http://www.sullcrom.com/
Like the ones under News and publications on the far right... Having a difficult time figuring it out! Similar Tutorialsfor an example... I would like to create a link or have a button called dropdown on a page, and once clicked, I would like it to drop down and give a description or show a paragraph or something... I don't want it to show up in another page once I click the link, just show up on the same page, but droped down directly under the link... Does anyone have an Idea what I mean? and how to do this... an easy way to accomplish this? or some nice tutorials? Thanks a lot... I want to create a Link bar, just like n4g's. Look right at the top and you will see a grey bar with liinks. How do i go about doing this? Thanks http://n4g.com/ I want to link to a website in such a manner so that when the person clicks on the link, a new browser window pops up in front of the current window? How is it done? Let me explain exactly what i want. In my horizontal navigation i want to have 3 links with a drop down menu feature! When the cursor hovers or that specific navigation i want it to drop down with other links hyperlinking to otherpages on my site! I'm getting a fourm using mysql. I have a categories table and a topics table. I want to create two dropdown menus for each. The categories menu will display all the categories in the fourm and then the topics menu will populate will the topics from the category that was selected. Heres the code I have so far: HTML Code: //Display the categories $sql = "SELECT categoryID, categoryName, categoryDescription FROM categories"; $result = mysql_query($sql); echo 'Select Category:'; echo '<select name="Categories">'; while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { echo '<option value="' . $row['categoryID'] . '">' . $row['categoryName'] . '</option>'; } echo '</select><br />'; '</form>'; //Displaying the topics $sql = "SELECT topicID topicSubject, topicDate, topicCategory, topicByUser FROM topics"; $result = mysql_query($sql); echo '<form method="post" action=""> Select Topics:'; echo '<select name="topicSubject">'; while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { echo '<option value="' . $row['topicID'] . '">' . $row['topicSubject'] . '</option>'; } echo '</select><br />'; //submit button echo ' <input type="submit" value="Delete topic" name="submitButton" /> </form>'; Could someone please tell me how I can create a specific link without the underline? Can it be done for individual links? I am aware of the "text-decoration: none" but I don't know how to type it in so it works. So for example: <a href="http://www.survivingbipolar.com">Return</a> Where (and how) do I add the proper code? Thanks. I am using a CMS and i am using the code at the bottom of this page. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ben (START-LIST) 59 1 Bedroom (sleeps 2) 69 1 Bedroom (sleeps 4) 89 2 Bedroom (sleeps 4) 99 2 Bedroom (sleeps 6) (END-LIST) (START-LINK)http://www.centralhotelcheltenham.co...me.php~Central Hotel(END-LINK) Hello, I have a trouble with my web site , all my hyper links i created are opened in the same windows..... Can anyone give me the code or help on how to make another window out when the hyper link is been clicked? Thanks Regards Steve Hello, I'm not sure where else to turn with this question, so I apologize if it's not forum-related. I need to add a link to an HTML doc that would open that same page in a new "printer-friendly" pop-up window. The problem is that the address of that page would always be different because it is being generated on the fly by users doing a search through our database of keyworded photos. An example of this address would be: http://ourwebaddress/netpub/server.n...here&template= results.np&field=Keywords&op=matches&value=Dallas&value=brownstone&field2=Keywords&op2= matches&search=View+Your+Search+Results This address shows images based on my search for "Dallas" and "brownstone," and because this address would change with every new search it's useless as a permanent link. Is there an HREF link command (or perhaps something else) that would simply open the existing page in a new window, no matter what the page's current HTTP address is? Any insight with this would be very appreciated! Many Thanks! Hello. I am trying to code a "simple" webpage. It will have two drop downs. Each drop down will have a few selections. You, the user, choose two selections from each drop down. The you press submit/go button. if you house apples for dropdown 1 and green for dropdown 2, it would then insert these keywords into a link such as www.test.com/apples11green.html or www.test.com/apples/green.html, etc etc... basically i want to specify to variable spots in a link, and have the drop down selections place into those links. Hello all, I have created a basic slideshow from dreamweaver's template provided. I want to add one link right next to the 'Next' button that says 'download full size image'. Is this possible to do without manually do it and manually pointing it to the correct file? I would appreciate any help. Thanks, Lorne I've made a lot of progress on my website: Bands 4 Babes but I'm still struggling with getting everything to look the same on all the different browsers. Basically what I'm finding is: Chrome and Safari (PC) - Displays exactly as I want it to Firefox 3.5.2 (PC) - Displays properly except for the Home link in the purple bar is a few PX too far left and the --- above home is a line too high Firefox and Safari on Mac - FF exhibit the same problem as above, but most fonts (sizes and faces) are off on the mac versions. This also throws off alignments of other stuff. IE8 - Two solid lines on top and bottom of page are a few pixels too low which ruins the continuity of the box frame I created. If somebody could take a look at my code and give me some thoughts on what the problem is I would really appreciate it. Thanks. Hello, I got a problem, i want to add a new link "Contact us" in my web page. But i need to open up every single page to add the new link. Is there any simple ways to add it? Like i change my homepage , and every single page changes? Thanks Steve Anyone know of a good online tutorial for XHTML ?? (not HTML, I want to learn more about XHTML) Thanks Converting RSS to HTML involves translating RSS XML files from a specified link into HTML or Javascript code, so that the XML data can be rendered for display on a web browser. An expert programmer would be able to do this by developing functions in Javascript and AJAX or Asynchronus Javascript XML, PHP or ASP.NET. Alternatively, there is a wide selection of third-party software that can offer this solution. This article will describe how to install and convert RSS to HTML using a free PHP package from FeedForAll called RSS2HTML. # 1 Point your browser to the FeedForAll download website. The URL link is provided in the References section below. Next to the heading "RSS2HTML" right-click on the download button, and select "Save Target As...". Save rss2html.zip to your desktop. # 2 Create a directory C:\rss2html on your personal computer, and extract the following four files from rss2html.zip into C:\rss2html: FeedForAll_XMLParser.inc.php Rss2html.php rss2html-docs.txt sample-template.html # 3 Using FTP software, upload the four files to your Internet website in the root directory. # 4 If your website domain name is mysite.com, point your browser to the URL mysite.com/rss2html?buildURL. Note that "buildURL" is case-sensitive. # 5 Under "URL for the XML file:" enter the following URL for the Yahoo! Internet newsfeed: rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/internet. Under "URL for the template file:", enter the URL location of the sample-template.html file, for example, mysite.com/sample-template.html. In "Maximum items" enter 10, so that only the latest 10 entries are displayed. Then click "submit." # 6 Wait for the page to refresh, then click on the "test" link to make sure that the latest 10 items in the Yahoo! Internet newsfeed are displayed. Copy the URL location of the link and save it in a text editor. It would look something like http://www.mysite.com/rss2html.php?X...ml&MAXITEMS=10. # 7 Open C:\rss2html\sample-template.html using a text editor, and enter the following code between the </HEAD> and the <BODY> tags <table width=100% border=1 cellspacing=0> <tr> <td valign=top width=60%> Welcome to my web site </td> <td valign=top> # 8 Toward the bottom of the file, enter the following code between the </TABLE> and the </BODY> tags </td> </tr> </html> Then save C:\rss2html\sample-template.html and upload it to the root directory of your website, overwriting the earlier version. # 9 Create a blank text document in C:\rss2html called mypage.html, and enter the following code into mypage.html. Replace the long url address with the one saved in Step 6: <html> <head> <meta HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" content="0; url= http://www.mysite.com/rss2html.php?XMLFILE=http://rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/internet&TEMPLATE=http://www.mysite.com/sample-template.html&MAXITEMS=10"> </head> <body> </body> </html> # 10 Upload C:\rss2html\mypage.html to the root directory of your website. Point your browser to mypage.html on your web site. It will redirect the browser to the long URL. The browser should now display the Yahoo! Internet newsfeed in a separate panel to the right. You can edit the HTML code in sample-template.html to add your own web content and alter the display, color and font settings according to your preference. Which site will be the best html tutorial?
