how do i center the body of this page:

But on the bottom table i cannot get my links to align left to right, not vertical and in that scroll box. Any help would be appreciated thanks alot! I have no idea why, but the pictures in the table at https://www.wagnermeters.com/california1.php are aligned vertically instead of horizontally as it seems they should be. Am I going crazy? What can I do about it? I need to post images vertically spaced evenly apart. I finally got the Flickr code set up inside one of my content boxes, but now the group of images is uneven and for the life of me I can't get them to align in the center of the box. Basically, I want parts of the page to remain static, which contain a logo and some navigation links, and the one part of the table to be a scrolling box. The reason is this: That one cell is going to contain some very large images - 1000 pixels wide by maybe 2000, 3000 high. So while the width can obviously fit on a standard monitor, the height will not. Now, the images themselves are pictures of long flowcharts. Therefore, it's fine for the user to scroll down to navigate the flowchart. But the static navigation links and the title should remain - well, static - while the user is able to scroll up and down that ONE cell containing the flowcharts. Here's a picture to clarify things. As you can see, the bolded cell is the one in question. (apologies for the shoddy drawing) If anyone solves that problem, I have one slightly tougher one for you to solve, but more on that later. I'm setting the parent div's to display as tables and the child as a table-cell. It works great in firefox and perfect, even in IE, on a simple html test page, but I can't get it to work for the site, in IE. I don't know what else to try. Can someone help? Another table should be displayed below that table, has dynamic number of columns. This page opens as a child window from main window The problem is that the tables are displayed beside each other if I have not specified width of table. About 4-5 days ago I made my attempt to build my first webpage, I am using Dreamweaver cs4 my goal right now is to split my index page in half so I can have two columns, one side for a current video and the other for upcoming news. my site is www.canapictures.com and I will include a picture of what I am trying to achieve, thank you. The gray line in the middle is where I want it to split, and the box is where text would go, I want to line to be invisible if possible. I have a gradient image I'm trying to use as a background for a <div>, but I'm having a bit of a problem in that I can't get the image to stretch properly to fit the <div>. The thing is the </div> can change size, and the image needs to be able to change size with it. I've managed to get it working to the point where the image will TILE to fit the <div>, but that doesn't create the look I want. I need it to STRETCH, not tile. I have also managed to get the image to stretch to the browser window, but like I already said, it needs to stretch to fit the <div> while ignoring the size of the browser window. Just in case you have trouble visualizing exactly what I'm talking about, I have already uploaded two different versions of the partially finished website at the following URLs: http://www.finalfreak.greatnow.com/neo_index.html http://www.finalfreak.greatnow.com/neo_index2.html Notice how in the second link the gradient continues past the footer to the bottom of the window? That's what I'm trying to fix. What I want is for the image to conform to the size of the <div> like in the first link, but without tiling like the first link. Also, the page currently only works properly in Firefox. I'm planning on fixing it to work right with Internet Explorer as well, but I'd like to get the gradient problem resolved first. I've been trying to get this to work for days now and it's driving me crazy! Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
