HTML - Marquee Background Image
Hi,
I'm using a marquee with a colour background using the following code <marquee bgcolor="#BFCEE5" however I wish to use an image instead - does anyone know the code for background image? The marquee is scroll up in a box Cheers Similar TutorialsHi there, I've been reading up on the marquee tag on the net and read from posts here that the marquee tag won't be validated, but I still had a question. I have an image banner that's 1565 (length) x 125 (height). I was using the marquee tag to make it scroll across the page, but my question is - is there any way to get the beginning of the image to scroll across the page again before waiting on the image to completely finish the first scroll? i.e I don't want to have to wait until the image finishes the scroll for it to start again leaving that space in between the scrolls. Thanks. Currently i have a marquee which scrolls images from right to left and when all images are through it starts again. Is it possible to have the first image repeated after the last one is shown. So continuous images without a break in between the last and the first again. Id be grateful for any help. Is it possible to put a smaller background image on top (like in layers) of my old background image? I have a background image, but I want to put a smaller image on top of that one, but for it to be treated also as background image. This image is a black vertical rectangle, but is faded on the edges to give a transparency, so its a .png. So ultimately what I am trying to do is put this black rectanlge on top of my original background image and with the transparency on the edges of this image, be able to see my original background image. How can I do so? Also what I was thinking was that this faded background would be scaled to fit different screen sizes, so do "width: 75%"? Just so that it ALWAYS stays at 75% no matter what screen size it is viewed on. Is this the right approach towards getting this result? Hi, I'm a complete newb and html-challenged, so please forgive my stupid questions. This is what I want for the personal website I'm making: a fixed image as the background that covers the entire screen regardless of what screen resolution a user's computer has - this much I've managed with CSS...I think (like this right? http://www.geocities.com/serenamonster/index.htm ) clickable regions on this background image to use for navigation to various parts of the site. Or in other words, the background image as an image map. - this I'm having trouble with, because you have to designate the picture as a set # of pixels in dimension to make an image map right? and if I do that to my background image, then it may display too big or too small depending on the person's screen resolution right? So does anyone know how I can have clickable regions on my fixed background image without the image being too big for low resolutions or too small for high resolutions? (he http://www.geocities.com/serenamonster/map.html the background image is fixed at 800x400. I want to make each star on the image a hyperlink to a different part of the site). I read somewhere that standard is 800x600 to fill a person's browser right? But on my computer the image only covers about 2/3 of the browser screen which is too small. How can I make it so that it fills 100% of any viewer's screen regardless of resolution? How does it look on your computer? I know these are probably just really stupid questions because I'm missing something really fundamental...but any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! ~Serena P.S. is it possible to do mouseovers for certain coordinates on an image map? Okay so I have been getting a little better at HTML thanks to this site but, I ran into a problem. I have a marquee that goes the normal direction <-- that way. So I was wondering how can I make it so when the mouse hovers over the marquee it stops and people can view it. I am lovin this site and thank you for your help. alright when using marquee's is there actually a way to tell it where to be but not have to put it at the certain place in the html. like can u use coordinates instead of tables and lists and if so how? because i want to have a marquee of a welcome message/news on my webpage on the navigation bar at the top 1) because it looks better and 2) because theres a lot of blank space on it. the reason i need to find a way to do it by coordinates if possible is because i had to use a horizontal list for my nav bar and when i tried putting the marquee in there it didn't work so i'm guessing i got to put it there some other way out of the lists code. thx in advance, mike (uberwalla) I have a marquee on my website displaying an rss feed. The problem however is that the marquee is making the rss feed two lines because it wouldnt be able to scroll the whole width of the table without disappearing. How can I code it so that the marquee will just be the one line? Thanks Anyone here use a light weight marquee replacement that allows images to scroll horizontally? I need one Hello all, I have a simple page with a simple marquee on it (used in a local system, within a browser control and not an online website). The problem I encounter is as follows: 1. I want the marquee to fit itself to the page, so I set <marquee HEIGHT="100%"....> However - this damages the scroll behavior - instead of text scrolling from off-screen bottom, upwards and off-screen top (I set the direction to UP), it starts with as many lines of the marquee as it can show already shown. Explanation: If my marquee has 10 lines, and my browser is maximized, which could show all 10 lines without needing to scroll - then all 10 lines are shown, and no scrolling. BUT I WANT IT TO SCROLL ANYWAY !!! IT'S THE EFFECT I AM AFTER... Any ideas how I can bypass this? Thanks, Maor.
