HTML - Form To File
Hi,
what i want do do is simple, i just don't know how to do that. I want to have an html form on my website which will save the result of the form to different files (txt or whatever) to my linux server each time a form is supplied. What would also be nice is to be able to put some of the form input in the file name. For example, a form that has the inputs name, age, email would save the result to a txt file named like this ''name - age.txt'' Thanks for your help, Similar TutorialsI cannot get my form to write to my asp file for the life of me. If someone could please tell me what i'm doing wrong it would be much appreciated How can you specify the type of document that can be attached/sent through a form? This seems to be the least I could do to ensure that what is being sent is the information being requested and not a corrupt or virus ridden jpeg or pdf. If I wanted to allow microsoft word documents how could I do this? While an alternative may exist I haven't found the free one. This form is sent directly to a person who posted an add asking for information. I am unable to scan the attachment prior to it being sent. Alternatives? Hi guys. I'm hoping someone can help me out. I'm by no means a web developer, but owning a business I tend to learn a little of everything - probably just enough to be dangerous. I'm trying to post a page that will have survey questions for all the brides that come through our boutique. The form has to be able to handle the normal form stuff - text fields, check boxes, etc. - but it also has to upload a user selected file. The idea is to get a bunch of feedback as well as a shot of the bride in her wedding gown. So, we'll have testimonials and accompanying pics. (I'm warning about copyright issues on the form). A prize will be randomly awarded to one of the survey participants at the end of the whole thing... once the promo is over. So, I've got the form pretty much done. But, I need a script that can handle the results and stores the images in such a way that I know what survey it goes with... make sense? Help me out here, I'm stuck. When a user clicks on the download link, I would like to display a web form, after they have filled out the form clicking submit will send the mail form and download the file that they have clicked on. I'd just like to stick to plain old HTML if possible. I made the form and the page but the problem is that when I upload a file the form gets submitted properly and it goes to another web page that is set as the action on the form however the file is nowhere to be seen! I thought that the file would just automatically appear in the same directory that the html file where the submitting form is. So does anyone know where my file is? Thanks! I'm currently helping someone maintain a pretty simple website, mainly text. And they would like to update their site relatively often, but I don't have the time and they don't have the knowledge of updating the page. So I was wondering if I could just embed the text into the html file using a .shtml file (ex <!--#include file="maintext.shtml" -->) and create a form on a seperate, password protected page that would have a simple textarea and submit button that would allow them to edit the text in the .shtml file and press submit, therefore editing the text in the .shtml file? Is this possible? Hi, I've encountered this problem, and been struggling for few hours. Thing is, I have a form with enctype="multipart/form-data" and 2 inputs with type "file" in it with names RequestForm[doc1] and RequestForm[doc2]. When I submit the form, only the first one of the fields is sent into $_POST. If i comment out the 1st field, then only the second is sent. This thing is just killing me! Could someone help? What might be wrong? And yes, I do need 2 inputs, not 1 multifile input. Any idea why the "theuploadedfile" input is not displayed when the program comes in after the submit ? The following common code is not working in Firefox (3.0.11). It works in Safari (4.02) and IE7. The file uploader.php does nothing, it is blank, I'm merely trying to establish communication. Once again, the code functions in IE and Safari so I dont think this is PHP related. I have a project written in ASP.NET under Visual Studio 2005 with C#. I am also using Infragistics objects for .NET Advantage 2007. In my page to attach resources to a record I have written a browser and am displaying previously chosen resources here. But when I click the upload button the page opens a new window (which is not a dialog window, but a normal one) which is exactly the same as my dialog window. How can this possibly happen? It is a very basic, sort of old-fashioned website that relies entirely on html. What I'm trying to do is make a drop-down menu that will be used as navigation for a section of a website and I want to have it in each internally linked page in that section, but I'm going to be adding more pages to it over time so I want to be able to put the drop-down menu code in a separate text file and then substitute it into the pages that I make that the options in the menu link to and then just edit the code in the text file when I add another page so that I don't have to go back and edit the code every single individual page whenever I add a new one among them. Basically all I'm asking is how I can put html code in a text file and then substitute that code into an html page by referring to the file.
