HTML - 2 Quick Questions (first Post! Hi Guys!)

im having trouble in finding a way to transfer the infos ive collected in 1st and 2nd pages going to 3rd page.
e.g.

1st page:
First Name: ___________ <--- the user will input his first name

2nd page:
Last Name: ___________<--- the user will input his last name

3rd page:
My name is [first name] [last name].. <----- will display the user's first and last name..
i already made a code for this program but my problem is only the information in the 2nd page is shown in the 3rd page.. there's still a problem *sob*.. need help pls..

I'm new to HTML... Well not completely new, I know the basics like how to bold stuff, how to make a new paragraph, line-breakers, all that easy stuff.

Now I have a project to do by the end of this summer... I'm expected to make a site where people can Rent Toys online (dont ask ) . So I have to be able to have Paypal Access in my site.

Now I need a bit of help... I started reading a couple of tutorials on this site and I'm trying my best to understand them.

My question is, where do I start writing or developing my site?
I can't just put it on Microsoft Word, there has to be a web page developing server or site I can use.... Any recommendations? I can pay whatever the cost is; After all in the end (if I finish everything) my reward is breath-taking...

If there is a specific web developing company or server that deals with Paypal, or online purchasing, that would be helpful information to know as well.

I have written this site with notepad. I use htm, css, and javascript routines from either freeware sites or other sources

The site displays galleries of images (an amateur interest of mine)

Each gallery page has a text preamble with thumbs below. Clicking on a thumb lays a transparent layer over the parent and a larger version of the image slides open centred on the page - looks very sweet (the routine is freeware - I adapted it to suit). Since doing this I've seen it a few times on other sites (don't you hate that!)

ALL galleries have been working well.

Today I decided to add a 1px border to the images in one gallery - I used a newly acquired version of CS4. PS is the only thing unique to this problem - I have updated from CS3 - but surely an image is an image is an image.

When I uploaded the new versions of the images the images don't open.

I have replaced them with origanals from D: to no avail?

I have used colour space sRGB and Adobe 1998 - just in case?

I have been in contact with my host and they say it's coding - but it's NOT!

I have redone the page with a template from another working page. The rewtritten page displays well (of course) but the images still don't open.

I have replaced the folder on the server in case the folder has problem (now I'm sounding like a jerk) Permissions are all correct.

I've used WS Ftp Pro and FZ - the image folder on the server is black - the others are not! I wonder what this is about?

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I am working with my forum trying to properly edit the html for the posts so that they will display any custom script/html of my choice. I want this to appear in ONLY the first post in every thread. I am also trying to find out how to make a bot that automatically posts another second post in every thread, with my own custom scripts/html. At the moment I am trying to add some adsense ads this way.

What I am looking for is two things:

1 - How to get the adsense ad aligned to either right or left of the text within the first post.
2 - How to get an adsense bot autopost an ad as post number 2 in any thread (including being applied to all threads already existing)

I am using IPB3. I previously used Adsense Bot for IPB2, and that worked fine, but it is not supported for IPB3. It uses the Universal Mod Installer, and in IPB3 there is a new "hook" feature to ass custom mods etc, but I do not know how to alter the code for the Adsense Bot to work with IPB3 so I am trying to get it done from scratch by adding codes directly into the templates. If anyone know how to configure / modify the old Adsense Bot to work with IPB3 that would be great of course, so I am attaching it here just in case someone wants to take a look at it and its documentation and scripts.

But primarily I am looking for the two mentioned features, one is how to get the script running in ONLY the first post of every thread - at the moment I got it running, but it is global and implements into all posts not only the first.

I also have figured out how to make a script appear, such as an ad, between posts, but not after ONLY the first post, nor how to make a bot that posts a post just like any member, which is what I am really looking for when it comes to that part.

This works perfectly for adding my desired custom script embedded within the posts. The problem is that it gets embedded in ALL posts and not only the first as I would want. Here is a link to my forum for an example on how it looks:

I know I have to edit/add some code regarding post counts etc to configure it to only affect the first post - my question is how to do that?

And as seen, the second post shows the ad as well, here I would want a bot to post a post containing another ad - between the first and third post of every thread (which will be standard members posts).

I have messed my brain with this for more than a week now trying different things, looking around at forums, googling, trying scripts and so on, mods etc, but as of yet have not found the solution to these things for IPB3.

Any help here would be extremely greatly appreciated and I'll buy you a beer if you're ever around my part of the world! :p

I've got a code I'm working on where you type in the 'URL' you want, and then it will go to it. Now this is not a normal URL. Say, If someone wants to go to http://www.google.com

When they type in 'www.google.com' in the box and click go, it takes them to 'http://www.mlvb.net/www.google.com'

So basically. I need a code to add the input data onto the end of a URL.

Make sense?

question.. when you make a function why do you put variables in the () right after the function.. what purpose does it serve? whats the difference in putting them in the () vs putting them just in the function or something? I feel like i'm missing something

Ok, I am working on something and basically what I need to figure out is how I can make a REALLY SIMPLE chat room something like so:

In another programming language let's say I post something like username:hi , now what I need is like a text list so people can chat, but it doesn't have to be live, i want it to be refreshed to see new content. I hope someone understands this, and if so, mind helping me get this done?

I have a wordpress blog I need a little help with.

In my navbar I have a link called "Dog Food Review". I want it so when people put their mouse over that link a drop down menu comes down and list my links under my Blogroll.. specifically the ones under Dog Food Reviews.

i am racking my brain trying to figure out why there is a space going through the middle of my html picture here. I have no cell padding, no borders and all the pictures are the same height and width. Can someone please help?
