HTML - Dynamic Filenaming In Html
Hi All,
I have a specific requirement. When i click on a button, it calls a url action and then need to open an excel attachment. This excel attachment is created using html coding only i.e by giving <content type="application/vnd.ms-excel"/> , it converts the html to excel. So far so good Here comes the issue ..I have another requirement. The excel sheet's filename should be the one i give. But by default, excel sheet's filename is the called url name for example if the url was ExcelOpen-start, then the excel filename also would be 'ExcelOpen-Start' How can we give the filename in html. Whenever I update the menu, I need to update all the pages on my site. Is there a simpler way to do this -say edit the menu on another file and have the changes be reflected on all the pages for my site? I have a form showing one chunk record at one time. This record is from a table. I want this form to bold certain text from that chunk of record. Since the record is not hardcoded/type inside the form. I want the bold funtion to be dynamic. Let say, Record one: I have an apple. I want to eat it now. Record two: I have a strawberry. I dun want to eat it now. First case, I want to bold the whole first line,with the word 'have' in it.. But this line can be anywhere in the page.. It doesn't always have specific position as long as the sentence have the word 'have' in it. Second case, I want the script to bold the word 'want' every time it finds it.. And only that word! I'm converting XML to HTML, which is Microsoft's recommended way of controlling the import of XML into Excel. I've got the stylesheet below in productive use. However, I want to make one key change. I want the name of XML elements to become the text column headings so I can deal with files that have dynamic column names. Suggestions appreciated. I'm setting up an HTML form with a CGI script (script1) and submitting data to another CGI script (script2) with the POST method using enctype="application/x-www-form-urlencoded". I create my form page with script1 based upon files and it will create a number of check boxes. My problem is that I do not know exactly how many check boxes are created. If they are checked they submit a value, however, if they are not checked, they are not listed in the Query String. So script2 does not know if there is an unchecked check box after the last checked one. Is there an option or a different enctype that will submit their value with a NULL string if they are not checked? Or is there any other way to get around this issue? Any Help you can give me is greatly appreciated. any help would be greatly appreciated. Hello, I am using a loop to dynamically generate buttons using the <button> tag. The value for this button is populated using a variable. When I click on one of these buttons, I want the content of the button to be displayed on the text field. But, because it is in a loop and the because the value is a variable only the value of the 1st button comes in and then disappears from the text field. Ok I am using perl for a form.. I dont need help with the perl. The problem is capturing an unchecked checkbox...and I likely have the same problem with radio buttons. WHen it posts the form I read the enviorment variables. The problem is the checkboxes dont write 'on' or 'off' or whatever. They just return the valuei assigned them..But only if i actually check them. IF they are unchecked they return nothing. How can i change the HTML so that they will always return either 'on' or 'off'?? Right now the html is : <input name="cond_surge" type="checkbox" id="cond_surge" checked="__GETFROMTXTFILE_" value="on" /> So If it is checked it prints cond_surge: on to a texted file and my perl will replaced the checked value with "yes". I want it so that if the box is unchecked it will spit out "off". Thanks for any help. Hello, I am new to the forum and html in general... I don't understand what is: http://ricardovilloria.com/work/03 is it a folder? how come it doesn't have .html extension? I tried downloading it - it seems that there is an index.hml that has elements on the page/website that are always stay, in this case header and the list of links on the right. But how the other pages load into this one with only a click? the website is clearly not a php website...? how is this done? Now, what I need is to be able to create a mirror of this site which people can visit, and they will see this counter. However, they will also be able to see the changes someone makes from the original page, yet they themselves will not be able to make changes. But HTML is a new animal and I am low on the learning curve. I apologize if this is an unlearned question. The attached file is one I cut and pasted together by an eclectic approach . The page layout is a little asymmetric, but has its elements in (close to) the right places. The presentation is nice. It also displays the values from the PIC correctly, but in two different "divisions" of the code. I admit, I don't know s__ from shinola about this. I am just cutting and pasting and trying to follow some general syntax concepts. And I have by utter beginner's luck gotten something that somewhat "works". Referring to line 39 of the attached file, the "display" division, the following 25 paragraphs of type: <p>updateParm0: <span id="updtParm0">?</span></p> Are working correctly and displaying the value associated in the mchp.js file which contains the dynamic variable array. Of course, this printing screws up the placements of all the elements in the large table which follows. But this will ultimately not be a problem, because these paragraphs won't remain in the code. What I would like to accomplish is to remove the 25 paragraphs in the "display" division, and cause the "updtParmXX" values to appear on the page in the placement described by the table layouts. Could someone tell me briefly how to do this? Or if I need a completely different approach? Thanks. PS: the attached .zip file is index.htm in its day job. |
