HTML - Page Loading Issue

Hi,
I have made an ubuntu server (11.10) and I have made a site on this IP number:
188.177.104.174.
When I load the site from a non-local location the site looks strange... The whole setup is missing...
I guess its a very basic configuration issue!? Can you help?

The main index page on my site takes FOREVER to load up. I thought maybe it was a problem with the server or my DSL, but all the other pages within the domain load fine. There are quite a few images, but they are extremely small sizes and not anymore than any other web site.

For some reason, the Google adsense loads right away, but the rest of the page takes literally minutes to apprear.

Anyone have any thoughts as to the cause?

Hi, I hope someone can help. I have a conservation website and one of the pages is linked to a large mysql database which pulls out stat data. I can take a while to load so I wanted to have an ' loading page ' that displayed while the page was loading in in the background. It would also be great if it could display a message saying something like ' Extracting database entries ' with a progress bar below.

Would it be possible for someone to help me with the code to do this?

is it a folder? how come it doesn't have .html extension?

I tried downloading it - it seems that there is an index.hml that has elements on the page/website that are always stay, in this case header and the list of links on the right. But how the other pages load into this one with only a click?
the website is clearly not a php website...?

how is this done?

I have 40 .jpg picures/photos that I want to display on a web page. They have all been through the thumbnail process, and none is larger than 25k. However, when trying to open the page on a dial up connection, the process stops (times out) before all the pictures can be completely displayed. Is there some remedy for this? Is there a way to download them in groups of, say, 10, so the browser can catch up and complete the displays? I don't really have a clue... Thanks...

Is it possible with html? i've been working on a site but each time you click the next arrow a new page loads, all the text is in the same place so it doesn't move and is even in a fixed div but due to it being a new page everything loads, the text collapses until the larger image in the center loads. Of course this is fixed when the site is cached but of course the site would only be cached once someone has clicked through it and experienced the problems 27 times...

so my question is is it possible to code for when i click the next arrow only a new image from a different link to load? is this possible with html? I don't know a single thing about flash or javascript.

Hello, I consider this an HTML problem but I could be wrong. Not much of a coder myself I have been sticking bits here and there from all over the web. I have managed to integrate a percentage load meter on my site but it loads after the images have -defeating the purpose- I was hoping somebody could tell me where I'm going wrong.

The % meter is pretty, and that's why I like it, but I don't think its accurate? I got it from the link below:

Here is my site so far, I would like to pre-load the .png %bar images so it makes some sense and then get rid of the bar when the page has loaded. I especially need this as java disappears when a page is scrolled and being positioned behind the java applet it would be seen.

When I go to certain pages on my website, i get this error:
Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://<Web site>.com. Operation aborted.

What does this mean and how do I fix it, I have read that google API can cause it but I have tried those fixes, then sitemeter.com additions to the restricted zones.

I changed some images on the page several days ago and all seemed fine. Today the page has stopped loading. Any help would be a blessing for sure. Front Page is the problem and I am doing my best to get away from the program but it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks sometimes. Please be gentle I know it is a mess......Thank You!

I am working on a website and so far it is coming together the way I intended. Looks good on Chrome, and Safari. IE is not right yet but it looks as expected since I haven't done the IE style sheet yet. However, Firefox is producing a completely unexpected problem.

I am having a problem with my site on IE 6. It's weird because I downgraded my browser to IE 6 so that I can detect these kinds of problems but it looks fine on my computer but weird on others.

Heres my issue....

On IE 6, after the movie loads up, it stops loading the rest of the html after the video. So right after the video,the rest of the coding won't load. It works on every other browser but I want to try to get it to work on IE 6 because a lot of people still use it.

I have a .CGI web page written in PERL language. The CGI script loads the information from a database.

So when i start the CGI page in my browser and it will only have a value in the whole page.
As in when the whole page started in the browser will have only a few characters.

Let say it retrieve Temperature recorded and which is stored in the database.
So the whole page when loaded will only show 1 temperature.
Which is "36.6" and will change when ever the database receive a newer data.


In additional, i have a html page.
There are tables in the page whereby show information. Like tables having temperature, id, sound and light columns.


My Question is that

Am i able to load the numbers/characters show on the CGI page directly into the table or any where in the HTML page?

What i can think of is putting up a link to the CGI page on the HTML file and click it when i want to view it.But it would just be too troublesome.


Lastly, thank you all for your time in reading and please pardon me for my bad English and weak HTML skills as I'm still learning.

I am wondering if there is a way to make a link on one page load a page into the frame or iframe on another page. For example I have pages A.html, B.html and C.html. B has an iframe in it, and I want to load C into that iframe, using a link on page A. Does anyone know if that is possible with html?
