HTML - Html Background Flashing White On Load...what's With That?
Here's a site I did recently:
http://www.siaacoustics.com I don't know why but when I'm loading the page there's lots of white flashes - in the main content window, you can see this black box only around the text before the rest of the window fills in. There are embedded Flash movies in the top, navigation + content frames - is this what's causing this white flash? Anyone have any ideas? FISHPAWS Similar TutorialsHi I have a website I'm working on that relies on transparent PNGs. The website is: http://www.percept.com.au/testing/planeteve/index1.html I have used the IE hack IE PNG Fix ( http://www.twinhelix.com/css/iepngfix/) which is working well, except it flashes a white background up while the transparency loads - which looks really ugly. It is really important I can fix this flash of white, so if anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced. Edit/Delete Message How can I make a white background for my paragraph so it will be blended with my image ? ( the post that has white/red roses ) I tried background color code but it moves my paragraph under my image ! Please help ! http://www.asianlabrys.com/forum/ind...20&#entry71823 I'm editing a tumblr, with complete custom HTML, and I was wondering how I'd either add one fixed white rectangle going down the page vertically (the posts are centered on the page, but the page background is too distracting from the posts themselves). Or, how I would just add white borders around each individual post? This should explain the look I want (with different colors/ background/ etc) Hi everybody! I always try to avoid the use of IFRAMEs, but in this case I had to insert the weather forecast coming from another site. This "source" website has an api which allows one to choose the background of the IFRAME, so no problems with the actual background indeed... but on IE 7 I see an ugly white spot if I set the "height" of the IFRAME to something bigger than the actual height of the content. (see attachment) This does represent a problem, since the actual content is variable in size, and thus I wanted to allow for some padding. I googled for the solution, but the only thing I can find is "how to set the background to transparent" which is not what I need. I tryed it anyway, as seen in following code: HTML Code: <iframe scrolling="no" frameborder=0 style="width:200px;height:490px;background-color:#000000;color:#000000;" allowtransparency="true" src="http://www.ilmeteo.it/box/previsioni.php?citta=5155&type=mps1&width=200&ico=1&lang=ita&days=3&font=Arial&fontsize=12&bg=000000&fg=FFFFFF&bgtitle=FF0000&fgtitle=FFFFFF&bgtab=E8F000&fglink=1773C2"> </iframe> The real problem is that I have no control on that white area, not even by setting bgcolor=black or style="background: black;"... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I made an image in gimp, just a gradient from black to green to set as the background for my website. For some reason when I test it, everything shows up fine. When I upload it to the server and point my browser to the website the background wont show up. Tried it in IE, firefox, and chrome. For all you curious about how I set it up this is in my css style sheet. Code: body { background-image: url(images/background.jpg); } As you can see, I saved it as a jpg and it's in a folder labled images, pretty sure the code is right because it will show perfectly when I test it. Any ideas? section of my page; however it loads very slowly. I there a way to speed up the load speed without reducing the clarity or detail of the image using either CSS or HTML? Right now the image is 2.2 MB, which is part of the problem. But when ever I shrink the size in gimp, the detail of the image is reduced.. Thanks! The links in our menu are flashing in Firefox but not in Explorer, and in Opera the links disaperes on mouse over???? Please look at our site and se what we mean. http://www.vinningacement.se/ Please help! Can you help me please? Can someone teach how to create a flashing text? <blink> is not working on IE so I am looking for alternative codes. I also need to be able to manipulate its blinking speed and make it endless blinking as well. Thank you in advance. hello. I am trying to create a 'lightning' effect on my page. All I want to do is have the page flash bright twice quickly. I was thinking about having the page automatically link to a blank page and then back to the index page but I don't know how to do that. I'm not familiar with html yet, but there has to be an easy way to do that. If anyone had any ideas or could help out that would be great. thanks! Can someone tell me how I would code for a webpage to open directly into a form where the cursor just sits there flashing awaiting input form the user. just like this google page does: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps I have the webpage and the form, but just need to know hot get the cursor to go straight to the form? I want to be able to have a script in my .html page that loads HTML from a file in the directory so that if I want to update, I can change only he file and not every single web page. I know it's possible and pretty simple, would appreciate all help. Hi guys, not much of a programmer and new here... but putting a site together for a friend. I have an swf file taking up the majority of a page. On the edges of are a couple of AP images (using dreamweaver). Looks great when all loaded up, but the images within HTML load well before the SWF (depending on connection speed) and it looks a bit goofy. Is there any kind of script that will hold back displaying these images until the flash is fully loaded? Many thanks for any and all advice!!! My site is www.realcrazyestate.com Right at the top of it, I have 3 flash animations. The top banner is animated, and then left and right of the main body text I have an animation of the Sears Tower popping up. Obviously, the banner loads first, but I want to make sure that when the sears towers pop up they come up simultaneously. My question is, when an HTML page loads, does: 1. If there are multiple objects in the page, but they are identical, does the browser download each object separately or does it just download the object once and then reference it out of cache for the second time it comes up in the web page? If the browser downloads an object twice, is there a way to make it do it only once to be more efficient with page loading? 2. Is there a way to make sure that both of the Sears Tower animiations load simultaneously in every case? I don't want one tower popping up before the other. Thanks! Hi, I want to hide contents of html page when certain frame is loaed. By hide I mean when The frame get loaded at that time other HTML contents should be hidded with some semitransparent image & only loaded frame should be clickabel. All the other HTML content needs to be inactive. For example <html> <head> <script language=JavaScript> </script> </head> <frameset rows="40%,*"> <frame id="frame1" name="frame1" src="two.htm" /> <frame id="frame1" name="frame2" src="three.htm" /> <frame id="frame2" name="frame3" src="one.htm" onafterload="check()"/> </frameset> </html> when check function is called only frame3 should be visible & rest of the frames & their contents should be hidded with a semitransparent colour shade. & these contents should be unreachable by any means by user! Help me Hi all, Here's what I'm looking for, ideally. I want a page to open and on load, I want it to open to a certain size and disable its scrollbars. I can get the resizing working, but how do I disable the scrollbars? <body onLoad=" window.resizeTo(1300, 1000)"> Thanks! JennyjJo Can you have text at the top of your page but have it show up at the bottom? Like: <enter text in 'div1'="content, content, content!"> x<br> x<br> x<br> x<br> <div id="div1></div> ______________________________________ x x x x content, content ,content ! I want to load a local html file in an IFrame. The main page is loaded from a remote site (http://www.mysite.com). How can I do that if I don't have a web server installed on the local machine? Is there any workaround? Thank you! Hey guys I'm new here, as I found this forum on google. I've run across a little problem or big problem so to speak. I have coded my website and it will load in FF, but not Safari or IE. It had an php function wrong the other day, but I have since fixed that and now I just a white page. Here's a link to the site(don't mind the simple, crappy layout) http://s2roots.com/random/done/ Please any help would be great, this is a project due by Wed. Hi all, This is a really basic question I'm sure. I'm creating a simple HTML website for someone. I'm using Pagebreeze HTML editor. When I'm in Pagebreeze and using the 'preview' option etc, my background image appears without a problem. But when I upload the .htm file to the FTP server, and try to go to the URL, the background doesn't appear. The code I've got is just as follows: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"> <meta content="MSHTML 6.00.6000.17063" name="GENERATOR"></head> <body language="Javascript1.2" background="Lights1.jpg"> Any ideas why this might be happening? The image is definitely on the FTP site. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Kevin |
