HTML - Website Menu - External Control
Hello,
I've tried looking everywhere, yet have drawn a blank on this idea. I'm currently building a website that needs a vertical menu put onto it, for access to various categories. However, the key issue is that this menu needs to be easily edited in the future (i.e not by me), so it would need to be controlled by some sort of external file, where new categories could be added or edited, and then the changes would automatically apply to the whole website. The website is being built soley in HTML, so I really need something that could be used with this. Please can anyone help? Similar TutorialsI want to show an availability calendar on my website. I want this availability calendar to match the availability calendar I use and frequently update on a website where I pay to be a subscriber. I also want to also be able to click a link to make a popup calendar with more information, just as on the webpage linked above. That would give me something like this: http://www.proz.com/?sp=calendar&ent...at=1&visitor=1 You can see EXACTLY what I am trying to do by viewing my website at: http://www.norwenglish.net/blank_page.php On this page I was successfully able to copy my availability calendar (using just source code), but of course, it doesn't dynamically update. It is now stuck in June, more specifically on the date when I did this, June 7. I am looking for a way to do something that looks EXACTLY like the above, but dynamically changing to reflect the days date, and the updates to my availability which I do almost daily on that website. I want to avoid having to update my availability on my own website as well. Ideally, I would like to use the small, "mini-calendar" for the main page, and the large, extended 3-month calendar as the popup-calendar, just as the one I currently have on my website (except both need to be dynamically updated). Any suggestions to how I can implement this will be greatly appreciated, and it DOES NOT need to be perfect - I don't care if there is 5% or something of people who use browsers where this won't work. Possible to do this with Iframes Would I be violating some kind of copyright law, based on copying the content from www.proz.com, where I pay to be a member? How can get a free program that lets be use movies hosted on other site such as youtube and put them on mine while still hosted at the other site. Should it be in the HTML or CSS file? I also tried converting the files to PHP and usign the line <?php include 'menu.php'; ?> but that didnt seem to work either. Both times the menu just doesnt appear. Im using firefox to view the files offline before uploading, so that id upload it anyway to see if php needed to be enabled or soemthing but still doesnt work. Hello! I'll be using an HTML pulldown menu system for a website, where the menu links are for pages on that website. Easy enough! But....when I add webpages to the website, I'll have to edit the HTML of the menu on each and every webpage to incorporate the new link. Again, easy enough, but time consuming. So I need a system where the pulldown menu looks to an external file for it's links - then, all I have to do is edit one file instead of editing every webpage. Can anyone help? (BTW - I wasn't sure what board to post this in, so if it needs moving to client-side or server-side, that's cool). Hi, I am making a website and need to make a common menu for each page. I want any changes I make to the menu to update on each page that has the menu on it. I think I need to make the menu in a separate html file and link it to all the pages I need it in. It's kinda "jumping", i.e. sometimes it shows the way it should (words do not wrap) and sometimes the words wrap and it doesn't look nice.... when I refresh the page it sometimes fixes the problem, but it's not the solution. Hi there, When running a website from my Hard Drive or CD, the Active X message pops up, saying: "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for options..." I know that if you disable the Windows security, this message goes away. I would like this message to not pop up regardless of your security settings... much like the format /y command in the good ol' DOS days. Is there a command that will force the computer to accept the page without user intervention? Thanks in advance! I 1) When creating a link to a new page you can contorl how the broswer appears. Hi I have designed a new website for a local sports team. They want to be able to update fixtures and match reports themselves. What is the quickest and easiest way to do this. I have played with Joomla but it seems you have to use the Joomla templates and cant really use a site i already designed. I have also dabbled with asp.NET and visual studio but it just seems over complicated for something i just need to get done quick. i use dreamweaver to design. any thoughts? The problem is that when Microsoft Outlook is not installed this will fire a Javascript error. I want to avoid that error and display a message like "Microsoft Outlook not installed".
