Similar TutorialsHi there, I was wondering if anyone knows how to centre an image link in another frame (yes I know frames are bad but its an old website I am updating) i have <a href="picturelink" target="mainframe"> <img src="thumbnail" border="0"></a> I have tried everything from class="center" to editing the original frameset and the original page loaded into the window but I can't get the jpeg file to load up centred and so I was hoping someone might be able to help as I don't want to link all the pictures to seperate html documents with only a centred image in... Thanks for any help. After fixing the code for my image maps after my question yesterday, I got an email from a user saying this: "I just noticed one thing when viewing the site using IE. on the pages, IE is shrinking the image and rather than giving me the option to click on a link, it gives me a magnifying glass to enlarge the image. When i enlarge the image, I still can't click on the links. Instead I get the magnifying glass to shrink the image back down." Here is an example of the code: <img src="About.jpg" width="1100" height="825" border="0" usemap="#about" /> <map name="about" /> <area shape="rect" coords="285,29,316,50" href="http://www.com" title="HOME" alt="Home" /> <area shape="rect" coords="383,29,460,50" href="http://www.com/teachers" title="FOR TEACHERS" alt="For Teachers" /> <area shape="rect" coords="469,29,516,50" href="http://www.com/support" title="SUPPORT" alt="Support" /> </map> It works fine with Safari and Firefox. What could be causing that problem with IE? I recently developed the following site: www.stripburgerlv.com If you view it in Firefox it may look just fine. However, in Safari, Opera or IE you'll notice that the right side of the white bounding box disappears. I dont understand?! Part of the image file includes that white edge so why would it not show up in those browsers? Thanks! why does my local copy of my site look like this http://img106.imagevenue.com/aAfkjfp...m_122_61lo.JPG but after I upload it to my webserver at http://shellsite.okinawapc.com it looks correct?? This is the page: [edited out link after problem solved] In Internet Explorer and Opera (not FF as far as I can see), under the 3rd 4th 5th 6th and 7th menu image there is a very small black line between it and the next. I don't know why these are there and how they appeared. I think it is something to do with the stylesheet rather than the page html as they are not there when I exclude it. The style is he [edited out link after problem solved] Can anyone shed some light on this? thanks. If I try using the IMG tags in the frame that contains my navigation bar, it moves the picture down and it looks very ugly. In the other hand, I need to create an image map for it but I can't seem to find a way to do that. Halp. Hi there, I've recently been working the following site http://www.midnightguild.info The theme that im using needed to be expanded which all went fine except for a strange problem with the right side bar which is missing but space for it has been made as you can see the black on the slightly coloured background. I've tried resizing this a number of times and also replacing the image and renaming etc but I cant seem to get the right hand panel to appear. The image file being used is http://www.midnightguild.info/styles...ges/boczki.jpg which should display a right and left panel but only the left is being displayed correctly, im a bit clueless as to why this may be happening. My CSS for this image frame is as follows: #wrap { padding: 0 0px; min-width: 650px; width: 1050px; margin: 0 auto; background-image: url({T_THEME_PATH}/images/boczki.jpg); background-color: #000000; } Thanks, Mike Hi Forum!! Okay I'm using an image map (well sliced image...I dont know if theres a difference) and I'm trying to get the imape map links to open up in either a table or a frame below. I didnt know if you can target images into a table...thats why I said or. Right now I have a table with a frame inside of it although I don't tihnk my frame code is right and the frame isnt really there. Here is a link to the outline of fanlisting ---I have ALOT of bugs to work out as you will see. www.geocities.com/diesel_girl35/index.html The actual links in my image map is working but Im not sure how to direct them to where I want them to go. And my table is too small... I wanted it to be the width of the image..which I think I can figure out. BTW if anyone has any suggestions on a better way to accomplish what I'm trying to accomplish please advise me =} And here is what my image map code looks like..if it will help. So should I target into a table or frame and how would I go about getting everything to work right? PLEASE AND THANK U <!-- Begin Table --> <TABLE BORDER="0" CELLPADDING="0" CELLSPACING="0" WIDTH="856" HEIGHT="447"> <TR> <TD ROWSPAN="1" COLSPAN="6" WIDTH="856" HEIGHT="407"> <IMG NAME="ino_menu30" SRC="ino_menu3_1x1.png" WIDTH="856" HEIGHT="407" BORDER="0"></TD> </TR> <TR> <TD ROWSPAN="1" COLSPAN="1" WIDTH="75" HEIGHT="40"> <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/diesel_girl35/ino_about.html" target="about"><IMG NAME="ino_menu31" SRC="ino_menu3_2x1.png" WIDTH="75" HEIGHT="40" BORDER="0" ALT="About Its Not Over"></A></TD> <TD ROWSPAN="1" COLSPAN="1" WIDTH="74" HEIGHT="40"> <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/diesel_girl35/ino_rules.html"><IMG NAME="ino_menu32" SRC="ino_menu3_2x2.gif" WIDTH="74" HEIGHT="40" BORDER="0" ALT="Know The Rules"></A></TD> <TD ROWSPAN="1" COLSPAN="1" WIDTH="86" HEIGHT="40"> <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/diesel_girl35/ino_codes.html"><IMG NAME="ino_menu33" SRC="ino_menu3_2x3.gif" WIDTH="86" HEIGHT="40" BORDER="0" ALT="Get Sum Codes"></A></TD> <TD ROWSPAN="1" COLSPAN="1" WIDTH="71" HEIGHT="40"> <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/diesel_girl35/ino_join.html"><IMG NAME="ino_menu34" SRC="ino_menu3_2x4.gif" WIDTH="71" HEIGHT="40" BORDER="0" ALT="Become A Fan"></A></TD> <TD ROWSPAN="1" COLSPAN="1" WIDTH="79" HEIGHT="40"> <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/diesel_girl35/ino_xtra.html"><IMG NAME="ino_menu35" SRC="ino_menu3_2x5.jpg" WIDTH="79" HEIGHT="40" BORDER="0" ALT="More Stuff"></A></TD> <TD ROWSPAN="1" COLSPAN="1" WIDTH="471" HEIGHT="40"> <IMG NAME="ino_menu36" SRC="ino_menu3_2x6.gif" WIDTH="471" HEIGHT="40" BORDER="0"></TD> </TR> </TABLE> <!-- End Table --> hi. i'm trying to use a background image as the footer to a site, and i can't figure out how to anchor an image to be at the bottom of the browser window, regardless of scroll position. is there a way to do this? thanks in advance. hi, recently ive been doing a layout and something came across that i couldn't fix. In internet explorer, the "Search Archive" box's height becomes bigger, but when viewed in firefox, it looks okay... does any1 know how to fix this? link: http://blogremix.cjb.net Hey. I have a frame and inside it there is a link. I want it to target an anchor called Code: <a name="anchor"></a> that is INSIDE it's own frame. I tried Code: <a href="#anchor"> but it tries to reload the entire page, and doesn't just "jump" to the anchor like it normally would. How do I do this? Thanks Hi! I am using Dreamweaver 8 to develope my site. I have broken the page in three pieces(frames) So that the top frame shows the title, the left frame is for links that I want to show as flash movies in the right frame. I have studied the help file and I have looked on the web and I can't find an explanation that I can understand on how to do this. I believe the clickable link should be an href but I don't know how to code it. Can someone explain this to me? Thanks in Advance! Paul http://www.problem-solving.be/dir0/index.php Something really weird seems to happen in IE6 on my page. When hovering a menu, a grey rectangle appears in the top left corner, and when hovering it, the last 2 menus roll out. I have been trying things for hours no but I can't find the problem. Both website and CSS validate perfectly, so that's not the problem. Who can help me? Please help me out Can someone please check my site in IE6? I think the text in the navigation menu on the left doesn't shows up besides "Pictures"... I saw this problem on my client's computer (yikes! ). It was really weird, the boxes were just green with no writing until you hovered over them. I don't have access to 6 myself and I'd really really appreciate it if someone could check this: http://www.salemnhconservation.org Let me know if this problem happens with you! Thanks!!! I wanted to use pngs for my website because I like the transparency feature and it is a better format than gif. I applied the alpha hack so that it would work in ie 6. But I get weird results when a flash movie is playing. The png image shows up and they are cut out but an "x" image also shows up under it like you would see if an image doesn't load. It doesn't happen on any other pages, only the ones that have flash movies. Does anyone know why this might be happening? here is an example page: http://webtvdeluxe.com/v2/videos/Art Show/ Note: Only happens in IE 6 i need a code for a scroll box that when you put a code inside like <img src="www... and so on it will show the code and not the image or anything else i put it...i just want it to show the code thanks in advance -dorota Well i know bare minimum of html and yes i am gunna get help.
