HTML - Pdf File Downloads From My Website!

Hello,

I have a small business with a website (http://www.232john.com). I created the website with Microsoft Publisher 2003.

We produced a commercial about 1.5 years ago and would like to put it on the website. The problem is I don't know how, and really, if its at all possible.

Also, the file may be too large, about 3 minutes long. I am thinking I would have to resize, or change the format somehow, but since I am quite new to this, I have no idea how to do that either. lol

SO, anything anyone could do to help would be greatly appreciated.

I have like over 5 thousand mp3's on my web server
I want to install a search box on the MP3 home page that can search for mp3's based on your search input
The only search engines I can find only search text and html files.
Any help would be awesome

hello, all

i just start learning how to build my own website.

One purpose of my website is: I want to embed a macro enabled excel file (i.e., an excel file like "***.xlsm]") into my website so that visitors can use the excel file to do some calculation. (visitors do not have to download the excel file)

Before I spend more time building my website, I want to ask: is it technically doable to embed excel file (especially excel file .xlsm)to my website?

hey guys, I don't know if this is the right place to post.

my company has existing websites, and I come to fix the errors.(I don't know the status about those website on Cpanel) After I did some change on File Manager, but the web site stay the same no matter how I do the code ( even delete all codes)....

anyone know why that happen? Do I need to refresh or something? Any things I need to check on Cpanel for the settings???

I'm writing my web site in Notepad++, using XHTML (source: w3schools tutorial) , and also getting into XML. This is my website. What I want to do is like this:

1) Move all the text content of my website to mywebsite.xml, organized in text blocks corresponding to each web page
E.g.: I cut the text content from the HMTL of the "my profile" web page and paste it to the XML file as a text block under a suitable heading. By text content I mean all the text that is viewable, like "Autodidact. Freelance English-Spanish translator and style proofreader..."

2) Mark each text block in the XML
E.g.: I mark the above mentioned text block with an id, "profile"

3) Place a link in the page's HTML to the corresponding text block in mywebsite.xml, so it calls the text when the page is loaded
E.g.: where the original text content of the "my profile" page was, I place a link to the corresponding text block marked "profile", so the text is called and viewable when the page is loaded

That way I'd manage text content more easily. For example, the text of my menu entries is the same in all pages. I want that when I need to modify the text of a menu entry (e.g. replacing "graphic design" by "visual art"), I can just do it in the XML file and that's all, instead of making the change in every web page. Also having all of my website's text content stored in a single file makes it easier to locate and modify strings.

How can this be done? I have no clue.

Hi guys,

I'm currently trying to sort out the background for a website. What I'd like is to have a silhouette of a few people on a gradient background. I'd like to keep the quality high, but it also makes the file size large.

If there were no silhouette then I would have a one pixel strip of the gradient set to repeat. Is it possible to add two background pictures, or is there another way I can reduce the file size that I hadn't thought of?

Im currently a learner in cSS with HTML, and i'm having a hard time understanding some simple rules and aligment options.

I currently have theese two files set up;

Index.html (LINK)
style1.css (LINK)

And what i'm having a hard time to get right is to include the different #elements from the CSS file,
(So that they will be shown in the HTML documents, could someone please tell me how that is done properly?)

Also, i followed THIS GUIDE to try to understand how to center-align my website, but it doesent seem to be right, as the box is not centered, at the same time as if i try to edit the values (how many pixels the box should be, nothing happens)

Could someone please tell me the proper way to center-align a webpage or correct the documents so it center-aligns,
as well as tell me how to construct elements / boxes in CSS so that i could start to make a basic site-design in CSS and how to code this in the HTML file so that the elements that i've constructed in the CSS file will be shown on the HTML page properly?

If you guys have some good guides to start me off, that would be great to.. thanks!

I don't know if this even belongs in HTML, but my question is whether or not there is any way I can include text seamlessly within a webpage from a remote location, i.e., a text file... I guess... so that it works like an iframe. Or should I just give it up and use an iframe?

Please take a minute to look through it. I know like half the nav links aren't working; that's because I don't know what I want to do for them yet. I haven't done this in years and I've never been that advanced so I'm really rusty. How should I lay this out? The top is going to be a picture that I'm still working on, so ignore that part (obviously the easiest to ignore).

I'm just using divs right now, but what I don't like is having to have the same page for every page. I only want the content to change, but for some reason I'm not feeling iframes. But if that's my only option, I'll sure go with it. For the drawings page, I was going to use a gallery script and have them all right there. I want it to be very minimal and simple. Then for the blog I don't really know what to do, and for the guestbook I don't know what to do. Like I said, I want everything to be really nice and simple and preferably integrated. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated (regarding the layout set up in general, a gallery script, blog, or guestbook, for example).

So I'm working on some "bulk" format emails for my work, and they're just basic HTML designed pages with a few images included in the coding (<img src="www.google.com/image.jpg"></img> ...for example).

My problem is, not necessarily the format or design of the email itself, but rather that every time I send the email out, whether it be gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc, it prompts the recipient to download the images, either in full, or individually - as if they were attachments to the email itself.

For example (this is what our recipients see when they recieve the email...aside from this, the email looks fine):


The email displays correctly, but why does it prompt the recipient to download the images that are encoded in the message? Or better yet, why do other newsletter/bulk emails that I recieve from other companies NOT prompt me to download the individual images?

What am I missing here? Thanks for the help!

Hi, I am trying to find a way in which a website that is linked on my homepage can be opened while keeping at least one form of my homepage open as well.

Hope you get the idea. So what i want is to have a bar on top that is my homepage (like the google bar in the link), but the rest is the actual website that has been linked.
I don't really care much about the url. It doesn't have to be my homepage url, it can be the actual website url.

Google has been able to do that somehow, so it is possible. I would just like to know how and if it is hard to do.
If someone knows how to do it, it would be great if you could give me a link to a tutorial, or explain it. thanks

I have some links (in the header, the SUPPORTERS) to different websites, but when I click on them the address in the address bar does not change to the address of the website that I clicked. How do I make it show the address that I clicked on? Thanks.
