HTML - Giving Two Links To The Same Text

Hi there

Anyone know how to force a long piece of link text to wrap on to the next line. Only seems to be a problem in FireFox. Here is the offending page:

By the way, the content is generated by the client via content management, otherwise I would stick in a <br />.

I know this is probably really basic stuff .. but i need different colours for the link, rollover and visited state.

But i dont want them to be the same throughout the page, i want each to be specific set of colours.

Just point me in the direction of where the answer is .. i dont mind reading up! Thanks.

I'm trying to position text, links and pictures to follow one after the other, but it doesn't work.


I want to see

"Homepage" on the left corner of my webpage
"Next" on the right corner of my webpage

Unfortunately this command doesn't work properly.

It makes the "Next" go down a line, instead of being in the same line of the "Homepage".



Also, on that vein, is there any way I can align images and text on the same line without using spaces*?

As in:

But they all should stay on the same line. Any guides, or even links to tutorial about my issue would be appreciated. I've been trying to google for a while, it's becoming frustrating.


*I think the problem with spaces is that people with different resolution would see the text in different places than I want them to see.

Hello again, I did this site in Dreamweaver, looked fine in my dreamweaver editor, uploaded it and voila everything goes nuts.

List of Problems: The Links are not positioned properly, not big enough plus the drop downs to the bottom and not to the right. That was properly my fault since I just copied a suckerfish method... But can someone help with this.

If you study the News Header in the CSS, it says it has a background image, how ever it doesn't show when I uploaded it. I know the url and the pic is correct cause it worked in Dreamweaver...

The background for "welcome" is all the way up there which isn't supposed to happen, it supposed to be right on top of the Hello text but that isn't happening either.

The hello and welcome are supposed to be aligned to the left of the right header.

Thats about it, please can someone help me. I've changed the format of this like 3 times just to get it correctly done, but nothings working.

Suppose a user types the url of a website in their browser, so that the script http://url/index.htm is displayed in the browser. In other words, the user is not opening the page via a link or whatever, they are just typing in your url. In that situation, what (if anything) can you put in that script itself that gives the user's browser window a name that can be referred to later.

The reasons why I want to do this are complicated, but in a nutshell this first window will become the parent window of other windows that open up later via links within the page, and script within those windows will have to refer to it by a name.

Alternatively, is there some standard name that your browser window automatically recieves when you open up a website, like "parent" or something, that allows you to refer to it?

I am creating a web site which sell damaged cars. And I am trying to implement the feature of making small pictures large. Well, the way i wamt it to work is that 6 small pictures of the car at different angles will be displayed in a pop-up window. I have achieved this part of the project but i am havin issues with allowing the user to place the mouse over the small picutue and in a different area in the text box a bigger picture of the small picture appears. Here is the code i have for the pop-up

I find that the use of z-index depands a lot on other functions you use/or not.

ANyways, it has failed me yet again, cant seem to figure out why..

the thing is ive re-written the page withou using the position: tag.. its awesome, just the z-index crap.

You will have to create a folder called "cgi-bin" on your server on the main level. Then start a new file, call it formmail.pl and paste in the code found he

I am new to the board and new to HTML. I was hoping someone could help me out with this problem I am having. If you click the link below and click "like" (you can unlike right after, I just would like to show you something on the page) and scroll down to What's on the menu. Could you please help me with how to create something like this. What I mean by this is notice how when you click on one of the red dots it brings you to a different recipe on the page.

For complicated reasons having to do with getting some Javascript to submit a form properly, which I won't get into here, I need to create
a "do nothing" input button, whose mere presence lets the Javascript function work.

Since this button does not do anything when you press it, I want it to be invisible. In IE I can get it to be invisible just by setting its width to zero using the line below. However, Firefox insists on giving it some finite width, even if there is no label on it (see below). How do I create a zero width button in Firefox - and is there any other way to hide input buttons?

Hi, I have got an input form to upload files; the form also accepts some other user input. The upload works fine, but I need to display some filenames by default, but this does not work. I tried using:
<input type="file" name="images[]" value="<?php echo $default_filename; ?>"...

This did not work, so I tried:

<input type="file" name="images[]" value="Testfile.jpg"..., but this does not work too.

All this is in a <form action="<?php echo $_PHP_SELF; ?>" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data">.

It seems to me that in an input field of type "file", default values are not accepted, though they should be according to the documentation.

Any help will be greatly appreciated as I need this feature.

I have several websites that I maintain and update. A lot of them are just textual changes and I would think my customers can do these themselves by editing a simple .txt file.

I was hoping my choices are avalable so that I can just insert this tag into my web pages and then give them login info to their edit page or show them how to upload the .txt file.

I hope this is an easy one with several answers.

Is it possible these tags could discipline your rankings in the search engines?

I am new to this forum and is expecting an answer for this question. I have implemented a facebook type search to the database which displays the familiar text saved in the database when I type some text in the database. My issue is after I have used the search box for a couple of time the text box starts displaying a similar dropdown from its history which hides my database search. Does anyone know how to disable it using html or css. See the attached Image if my question is not clear.

here is the (ineffective) code currently:

the image shifts the left margin such that the text is centered as though the page width was 169px less than it really is.

i'm not debating the code itself; the code above behaves as its meant to. aka no surprises. i just cant figure out the appropriate code to center the text across the entire real width of the page as though there was no image.

i've tried div tags & all the things google hunting advised. no luck. other than finding this forum, which seems like it'll be a boon!
