HTML - Tables Jacked In Firefox
This page looks fine in IE but tables are too wide in Firefox.
Can anyone tell me what I need to change? http://tinyurl.com/2crnbe Thanks! Similar TutorialsHello all, I am working on a site and having 2 problems. 1. How do you center a whole table? I try table align="center" but it centers all the elements 2. I try to do table width=80% and in IE it works but it doesnt work in firefox Anyone have any ideas? There's something wrong with the tables on the site I'm currently working on.. There's no errors of any kind, but they're acting kind of odd.. I tried to make the code as clean as possible, but since this is a dynamic page, that isn't always easy. In Firefox i get a gap from time to time in the cell background of the page. But if i try to update it gets fixed. In Opera it stays like this all the time Here's a link to the page http://svolvar-jff.net/new/index.php?side=aktiviteter&id=12 I got a prob: the site i'm designing looks great in IE, but in Firefox, all the tables collapse and it looks crap. i've taken care to sort the opacity of my transparent divs with the "-moz-opacity" tag, but is there a tag that does the same for tables? check it out he http://www.creativetruth.co.za/divercity/index.html I have run into a problem when using tables in Firefox. I code for IE 6.0 and I like my browser to determine when to put text on a new line once the table width has been reached. Rather than put breaks <br> in my text I just let the browser decide. When I open a page in Firefox it does not wrap the text within the table it just allows the text to flow to the right until the end of the text occurs. To fix this I now have to use <br> whenever I want a new line to begin but this creates other problems when others view my pages in IE 6 or IE 7 as the line breaks are now choppy sometimes consisting of one word on a line. My screen resolution is 1280x1024 but if someone does not have this resolution the page is a mess. I am using Dreamweaver as my editor and Firefox 2.0.0.15. Works just fine with IE 6 or IE 7. Can anyone help me with this? Here is an example of a page that I been forced to put <br> at the end of each line: http://www.outdoorphotographycanada.com/dwilson.html Thanks, Dave Hi I need help in tables with 100%. Actually i am keeping a table with 100% fihed width in a <td>, but when i am minimising the IE or Firefox browser the columns are reducing , how to solve the problem I hand coded my website myself, but whilst working perfectly in IE, there are some problems when viewing it using Firefox. Specifically, the table rows have double-spacings (scroll down to the 'Education' section he www.lombrozo.co.uk/resume.html), and also table borders have a 3D look (a black border to emphasise the shadow), again, this shadow is not visible in IE... Any ideas anyone? Any help would be most appreciated! http://www.yandina.com/JIndex.htm Open in Firefox, Chrome or Safari - - - that is what it is supposed to look like. Open in IE and the last table get overlaid on top of the previous table. What sort of things can cause that? Additional (unrelated I think) problem, IE is not accessing cookies but others are fine. What can cause that? Hi Normally, when you have more than one table in your code, the tables will be placed one under each other. Example: <table> ... </table> <table> ... </table> When you want the tables to be placed next to each other, you need to set the align attribute. Example: <table align="left"> ... </table> <table align="left"> ... </table> BUT: When you do it like in the 2nd example (tables next to each other), in Firefox, the tables will wrap to a new line if there is no more space. In Internet Explorer, the tables will not wrap. The result is a horizontal scrollbar or "hidden tables". Why this? How can I make the tables wrap also in Internet Explorer as it does in Firefox? Is it possible with a special CSS definition or with a special DIV/SPAN tag? Thanks for your help praiser Hey everyone, I'm new to these boards. Somewhat a newbie at web design, but I know basics. I'm looking to put 2 tables adjacent to each other inside another table. My problem is I can't get the tables to line up the way I want them to. I'll post a picture of how I want it to look, how it looks now and my code. How I want it to look: How it looks now: I want the tables to line up at the top and re-size according to each other so they're always aligned at the top. Code: coming in next 2 posts Hello, I am pretty new to the whole html world so forgive me if this is a simple problem. I have look all over for a post explaing this problem but i haven't found anything. I am making a site for a friend using Dreamweaver. I know i know, i regret not coding it from scratch but its too late now. Anyways I have a pretty good page layout going now but I have ran into a problem with loading my images. On my home page an image in a table nested inside another table will load when viewing in safari but seems to disappear in firefox. What is going on? Its a pretty simple piece of code. I place; <img src="Pictures/RDV couplepalm.jpg" width="200" height="" style="float:right; padding: 8px; margin-left:10px; margin-bottom: 10px" / inside of a paragraph in a row of a table. I have rewritten the code for this image, copied it from a working image and screwed around with the table heights (although I wasn't too sure what i was doing). What else should I try? I have attached screen shots of the site in both browsers a copy of the problem jpeg aswell as a copy of the html. Any information anyone could givee me would be REALLY appreciated! Thank you. Hi there, Im relatively new to the HTML programming world, and can't for the life of me get this layout to work. Would someone mind making this table for me, and posting the code? I've made others, but for some reason cannot get my head round the rowspan feature... If anyone wouldn't mind making it, this is the layout I'm aiming for Edit: I apologise that image is so large. hey everyone, pretty simple question i am supposing, how do i stop the text in my tables from wrapping to fill the space inside the cell. The text in each cell flows over into a second line, and I end up getting writing that has huge spaces between each word, to try and fill out the line. I still want two lines, just normal sized spaces between words if that makes sense... Hello everyone. Im making a website for my company and i need a little help. I made a table and tried to put a fixed width on it so then I could put text in it. Problem is, -when i type with no spaces ex aaaaaaaaaaaaa the text just keeps going forever instead of dropping down to the next line Also Ive been having some other problems -if I zoom in to like 200% on IE my text doesnt stay centerd with the page, it stays centered with the screen -And if I zoom in really far in Fire Fox my background stays centered with the screen instead of the page I made the page using photoshop and exported as html to get me started so ill post the whole script. Its not a whole lot. --------------------------- <html> <head> <title>K2 Layout 3-0</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <style type="text/css"> body { background-image: url(images/bg2.jpg); background-repeat: repeat-y; background-position: center; background-color: #0d141e; } body,td,th { color: #FFF; } </style> </head> <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0"> <!-- Save for Web Slices (K2 Layout 3-0.psd) --> <center> <table id="Table_01" width="1024" height="225" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td rowspan="4"> <img src="images/K2-Layout-3-0_01.gif" width="93" height="225" alt=""></td> <td colspan="6"> <img src="images/K2-Layout-3-0_02.gif" width="840" height="166" alt=""></td> <td rowspan="4"> <img src="images/K2-Layout-3-0_03.gif" width="91" height="225" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="5"> <img src="images/K2-Layout-3-0_04.gif" width="714" height="1" alt=""></td> <td rowspan="2"> <img src="images/K2-Layout-3-0_05.gif" width="126" height="43" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td> <img src="images/K2-Layout-3-0_06.gif" width="71" height="42" alt=""></td> <td> <img src="images/K2-Layout-3-0_07.gif" width="211" height="42" alt=""></td> <td> <img src="images/K2-Layout-3-0_08.gif" width="141" height="42" alt=""></td> <td> <img src="images/K2-Layout-3-0_09.gif" width="163" height="42" alt=""></td> <td> <img src="images/K2-Layout-3-0_10.gif" width="128" height="42" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> <img src="images/K2-Layout-3-0_11.gif" width="840" height="16" alt=""></td> </tr> </table> <table id="Table_02" fixed width="830" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td> Text Here Text Here Text Here Text Here </td></tr> </table> </center> <!-- End Save for Web Slices --> </body> </html> -------------------- Any help at all appreciated Thanks Is there a way to put together tables so they look like this: Hello everyone. I am trying to make a table based layout for my personal site, and I have run into a problem with my layout images. My issue is this: is there a way you can make the top of a table flush with the top of the page? I want it so there is no gap between the top of my table and the top of the page. I"m wondering how to get that done. I hope someone can help. I have a L shaped image that I want to put into a table as a whole rather than cut into to two oblongs. As I am not an expert I wondered if this would mean that the space surronding the L shapped image will not be accesble when place in the table.. I want to put txt into the recess against the right angle formed by the L I think that the <td><img src="Lshape"/></td > way that the table structure works that the L will have a rectangle around it and that this will prevent things butting close to it.. is there a way around it.. Apart from cutting the L shape into two pieces and putting a table within a table thanks Larry Ok so you can see from my attachment what I want. I want the bottom row to be all-in-one, so I can centre (center..) the text. But not sure how to do this. Code: <tr> <td>username</td> <td>password</td> </tr> <tr> <td>forms....</td> <td>..........</td> </tr> <tr> ......how to get it to display all of this one? </tr> <td> When i make a table, it will goto the next line, for example if i want an image on the left of my table, the image will go first, and thenthe table will automatically be displayed on the next line. Is there any way i can fix this is CSS, HTML, Javascript, anything? If you need more info on my problem i could take a print screenn... Cheers! Here's an example - I want the images to be at either side of the table, so theres no space... Can someone give me a tutorial on tables please? I would very much apprieciate it. I don't really know anything on tables so please start basic. I hope to see a response soon. |
