HTML - Tables Jacked In Firefox

I hand coded my website myself, but whilst working perfectly in IE, there are some problems when viewing it using Firefox.

Specifically, the table rows have double-spacings (scroll down to the 'Education' section he www.lombrozo.co.uk/resume.html), and also table borders have a 3D look (a black border to emphasise the shadow), again, this shadow is not visible in IE...

Any ideas anyone? Any help would be most appreciated!

Open in Firefox, Chrome or Safari - - - that is what it is supposed to look like.

Open in IE and the last table get overlaid on top of the previous table.
What sort of things can cause that?

Additional (unrelated I think) problem, IE is not accessing cookies but others are fine.

Normally, when you have more than one table in your code, the tables will be placed one under each other.

Example:
<table>
...
</table>
<table>
...
</table>

When you want the tables to be placed next to each other, you need to set the align attribute.

Example:
<table align="left">
...
</table>
<table align="left">
...
</table>

BUT: When you do it like in the 2nd example (tables next to each other), in Firefox, the tables will wrap to a new line if there is no more space. In Internet Explorer, the tables will not wrap. The result is a horizontal scrollbar or "hidden tables".

Why this? How can I make the tables wrap also in Internet Explorer as it does in Firefox? Is it possible with a special CSS definition or with a special DIV/SPAN tag?

Hey everyone, I'm new to these boards. Somewhat a newbie at web design, but I know basics. I'm looking to put 2 tables adjacent to each other inside another table. My problem is I can't get the tables to line up the way I want them to. I'll post a picture of how I want it to look, how it looks now and my code.

I am pretty new to the whole html world so forgive me if this is a simple problem. I have look all over for a post explaing this problem but i haven't found anything. I am making a site for a friend using Dreamweaver. I know i know, i regret not coding it from scratch but its too late now. Anyways I have a pretty good page layout going now but I have ran into a problem with loading my images. On my home page an image in a table nested inside another table will load when viewing in safari but seems to disappear in firefox. What is going on? Its a pretty simple piece of code. I place;

inside of a paragraph in a row of a table.

I have rewritten the code for this image, copied it from a working image and screwed around with the table heights (although I wasn't too sure what i was doing). What else should I try?

I have attached screen shots of the site in both browsers a copy of the problem jpeg aswell as a copy of the html.

Any information anyone could givee me would be REALLY appreciated!

Hi there, Im relatively new to the HTML programming world, and can't for the life of me get this layout to work. Would someone mind making this table for me, and posting the code? I've made others, but for some reason cannot get my head round the rowspan feature...

hey everyone, pretty simple question i am supposing, how do i stop the text in my tables from wrapping to fill the space inside the cell. The text in each cell flows over into a second line, and I end up getting writing that has huge spaces between each word, to try and fill out the line. I still want two lines, just normal sized spaces between words if that makes sense...

Hello everyone.

Im making a website for my company and i need a little help.

I made a table and tried to put a fixed width on it so then I could put text in it. Problem is,

-when i type with no spaces ex aaaaaaaaaaaaa the text just keeps going forever instead of dropping down to the next line

Also Ive been having some other problems

-if I zoom in to like 200% on IE my text doesnt stay centerd with the page, it stays centered with the screen

-And if I zoom in really far in Fire Fox my background stays centered with the screen instead of the page

I made the page using photoshop and exported as html to get me started so ill post the whole script. Its not a whole lot.

Is there a way to put together tables so they look like this:

Hello everyone. I am trying to make a table based layout for my personal site, and I have run into a problem with my layout images. My issue is this: is there a way you can make the top of a table flush with the top of the page? I want it so there is no gap between the top of my table and the top of the page. I"m wondering how to get that done. I hope someone can help.

I have a L shaped image that I want to put into a table as a whole rather than cut into to two oblongs.

As I am not an expert I wondered if this would mean that the space surronding the L shapped image will not be accesble when place in the table..





I want to put txt into the recess against the right angle formed by the L I think that the <td><img src="Lshape"/></td > way that the table structure works that the L will have a rectangle around it and that this will prevent things butting close to it.. is there a way around it..



Apart from cutting the L shape into two pieces and putting a table within a table

Ok so you can see from my attachment what I want. I want the bottom row to be all-in-one, so I can centre (center..) the text.

But not sure how to do this.

When i make a table, it will goto the next line, for example if i want an image on the left of my table, the image will go first, and thenthe table will automatically be displayed on the next line.

Is there any way i can fix this is CSS, HTML, Javascript, anything?

If you need more info on my problem i could take a print screenn...

Here's an example - I want the images to be at either side of the table, so theres no space...

Can someone give me a tutorial on tables please? I would very much apprieciate it. I don't really know anything on tables so please start basic. I hope to see a response soon.
