HTML - Cache Iframe
Hi guys,
I have a series of tabs which shows content in an iframe. The first is a dns dig and the second a whois lookup is there a way of caching the content, so that you can click one and click back to the other without loosing the content?. Any help much appreciated. Cheers. Similar TutorialsI've come across something that states that in the meta tags you should use... no-cache refresh expires to keep the pages fresh and up to date. Is this true? Is there any reason Not to do this sort of thing? Finally, if it is a good idea, what is the proper configuration for this sort of thing? Please point me in the right direction... I seem to have run into a problem trying to locally load web applications offline. I think what I need to accomplish this is a .manifest file. I cant seem to get it to work though. I have the manifest file, I have it load in the html tag, and I think I have the .htaccess file set up correctly. If somebody could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. My HTML knowledge is limited as I am a new to the web design world. From 1-10 of my knowledge of HTML I would say I am at a 6. I have recently created a website using Dreamweaver CS5 and I would like to know how can I control cacheing on my website? I googled this but I dont know how to implement it. I would like people to cache my page so the next page they go on will load faster but I do want to update content once a week. How can I do this? thank you. Could someone please tell me how to update or change a visitor's Cache and/or Cookies when they visit my web page. My company has requested numerous updates to the site since it was launched and they are worried some of their clients won't see the changes because they visited the page before the changes were made. The site was created in Flash and is nested in one HTML page. Thanks in advance. We have just started to using a ad tracking program on our forum that using javascript tags for advertising banners. The javascript causes the forum pages to load slower so we would like to use the html tags instead. The problem with html tags is cached pages/banners will not count towards impressions of that banner unless we code it to include a random number to bust the cache. Below is the code: Code: <a href='http://www.hometheatershack.com/openads/www/delivery/ck.php?n=ad3d0be0&cb=INSERT_RANDOM_NUMBER_HERE' target='_blank'><img src='http://www.hometheatershack.com/openads/www/delivery/avw.php?zoneid=3&cb=INSERT_RANDOM_NUMBER_HERE&n=ad3d0be0' border='0' alt='' /></a> Where it reads: cb=INSERT_RANDOM_NUMBER_HERE' Do we simply plug a random number in the cb=1234' Can it be the same random number for each banner code? I need some simple hillbilly term explanation of what we need to plug into that spot. Any help is appreciated! Many thanks! Hello, I hired contractors to build a site for me. The site's front page has a small section for text, the developers added some placeholder text in this spot. Now that the site is completed, I changed the text as follows: I downloaded the index.php file from my webhost. I changed it to a txt file, then opened in notepad, found the placeholder text, changed it, saved the file, renamed the file back to php, then uploaded to webhost, replacing old index.php file. When I load the page the following error message appears twice at the top of the window: Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/XXXX/public_html/index.php:1) in /home/XXXX/public_html/index.php on line 2 Does anyone know what this error indicates ? (I'm not a programmer) I did not save the old index.php file because I didn't think such a minor change would cause problems. The contract with my developer has ended and I don't want to start a new one for this. Any help appreciated. hi, i've a very simple html page, where i have an iframe. The problem is that i want to add some text below the iframe. however, my text keeps showing up on the right hand side of the iframe. i've looked at the tutorials discussing the tags available for iframe, but surprisingly, none seem to relevant to this. Code: <html> <body> <table border="0" cellspacing="10"> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="left"> <td valign="top"> <iframe src="mySource.jsp" height="700" width="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="auto"></iframe> </td> </table> This should be displayed below the iframe but actually gets displayed on the right </body> </html> any help / guidance in this will be much appreciated. thanks in advance! I have 2 IFrames on a page. I am going to end up with a long list of shows to catch-up on. Is there a way I can embed an IFrame with the list, and when you click on a show, you it will change the Playing Show http://tiny.cc/catchup <---The page I am referring to. Hi all, Just wondering if it's possible to have a "clear cache" function on a website? Is it possible to clear just that particular website or does the entire history get wiped? I ask because I want my visitors to be able to reset what links they have visited on the site. So if there is any other suggestions to achieve this, they would be appreciated as well. Thanks. Now here is my problem. I'm not familiar with other laguages then html and a little bit of javascript and I wanted to make a site for me and my brothers photography company. I currently using dreamweaver and have figured out the way I want to make this site. I tried using ordinary frames, but I want the website to be aligned in the middle and I could make that happen. That is why I went into iframes and a regular table on the index page. My problem now is that I have several iFrames and I want a link from one to open in another. http://www.trans4mind.com/personal_d...e/iframes3.htm here is a link for this to happen, and the simple solution is to name the frame and then target the link. but I have tried that and when the link is from one iframe to another it won't work. If the link is on the index page and target the iframe then it works. Do you have any idea why this happens? I know it's possible since the link above does it. Hi! I've been cracking my head trying to solve this: How can I insert a iframe [i.e. 300x200px] inside of another iframe [i.e. 700x500px] and pull different web content n each one? kind of concentric iframes or like a 'Donut iframe' I'm trying to make a iframe for http://www.atdhe.net/. When I go to preview the code it goes to a link buck advertisement. Anyone know why and how to fix it ? Code: <iframe src="http://www.atdhe.net/" style="border:0px #FFFFFF none;" name="myiFrame" scrolling="yes" frameborder="0" marginheight="0px" marginwidth="0px" height="90%" width="90%"></iframe> I am coding a simple CMS project and I really like this template I found online http://www.quackit.com/html/template...example_5.html however it uses iframes. Aren't iframes out dated? Is there anyway to convert this template to work without iframes? Thanks in advance. How come the following script is not working? It worked all fine, until i duplicated it to make tabs. HTML Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>AKBrowser</title> <script type="text/javascript"> function show_prompt() { var name=prompt("Please enter the website name in the next pop up box. The problem is that when I click the "links" i have at the side, it doesn't actually go to the link inside the iframe, and when i click the back button it actually doesn't go back (my back button) I was wondering if there was a way for my iframe located on my website (which is currently loading google.com) to automatically load the specific part of the google webpage I want it to. In other words, when I go to my website, in the iframe I would like to see a specific part of a website located in the middle of the site. Right now the iframe is set to load the page at the top left corner when the size of the iframe is 200 by 200 pixels. Because of this small iframe, it is vital that I only see the part of the webpage I want to see so I dont have to scroll around in the iframe to find it. I hope someone understands what I mean... Thanks, JT Hi I'm making a website for a project at college and we have to insert a iframe which creates a scrollbar in the content area. But how to I add content/test to make the scroll bar work? The scroll is showing, but is showing but its faded out because there isn't any text for it to scroll down. This is the code I'm using. ><iframe frameborder="0" name="content" height="500" width="798" scrolling="yes" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src ="michael_1.html"></iframe> Hey, I'm trying to get my guilds website up. And I'm stuck. http://squeezingavocados.urli.net/ As you see the iFrame in the middle has a scrollbar, but I want the scrollbar away, and instead of just hiding the rest of the text in it, I want the iFrame to expand downwards, and in the same time expand the middle text "image", it is expandable, it wont pixelrate or anything, how can i do this. (Btw I use adobe photoshop and dremweaver) Hey, I have been working on this for a couple of hours now and cant figure it out. Thanks in advance I have created an html page that calls another html page into an iframe. I've never used iframe before, so please forgive my ignorance. It was recommended to me by a friend of mine to use for this particular project. Anyway, the document being 'imported' needs scroll bars vertically but shouldn't horizontally. I have set scroll to 'auto'. The width of the iframe is 320 px. The document that I'm calling in is about 260 px. I've tried putting the child document contents in a table of varying sizes from 280-320 px and still get horizontal scroll bars when viewing on the PC using Internet Explorer. I've eliminated the table and just placed the text into the html doc using <span class = "">. No other browsers that I've tested Mac or PC have the horizontal scroll. Is there a way to target and eliminate just the horizontal scroll in iframe? Or, is there something I can do to the child document to remove the horizontal scroll when imported assuming that the area that it's being imported to is 320 px wide? Perhaps there's another method altogether that would work better for me? I originally used textarea, but it did not work for my purpose(s) because I need to apply formatting, ie <b></b>, to certain lines of text. Thanks in advance - sleepydad Hello, I'm having trouble solving a problem involving frames in IE7. On this page, in IE7 only, I get a large frame with a jumble of images below it. However, the same page looks perfect in Firefox. Additionally, this page works fine in IE7. It uses frames as well...?! Is there something wrong with my HTML code? Please help. Thanks in advance, echotree |
