HTML - Hiding Html Contents On Frame Load
Hi,
I want to hide contents of html page when certain frame is loaed. By hide I mean when The frame get loaded at that time other HTML contents should be hidded with some semitransparent image & only loaded frame should be clickabel. All the other HTML content needs to be inactive. I would like to use the contents of one frame to determine the contents of another using a script within the page itself. Specifically, I want my index page to automatically determine which page within my site the user has navigated to (the page will appear in the content frame) then load a complimentary page in another frame (say and ad frame). I started out with a more complicated layout, but FF wouldn't load anything but the first frame. So I started pruning. This is about as simple as you can get, but it still won't load that second frame. Can anyone tell me why? When I view the source of the first frame it shows me the source, but when I view the source of the second frame, it shows me the source for a blank page. i have a frames website ... inside an iframe ... inside a table! i know that sounds crazy, but tought myself from scratch and solved problems as they arose. my problem now is that in some ie browsers, my banner frame, and main content frame will not display. (error message page cannot be found) however the navigation frame (left hand side) displays fine. i use a mac running safari 3.2.1 and i have no problem i also have another pc system running xp and internet explorer 6.0.2900.5512.xpsp_sp3_gdr.090206-1234 on this system the problem occurs. some other users visiting the site have encountered the same error, however not everyone. and being a newbie (who has probably taught himself all the wrong things) i have NO idea where to start. the site adress is www.shooteverything.com.au if anyone is able to help, that would be much much much apreciated. if i need to post further information please let me know. cheers ben Hi, I have an html page with the following structu Code: <html> <head> </head> <body> <iframe> //some links here </iframe> <div> //something here </div> </body> </html> Now when I click on a link to a webpage inside the iframe, it loads the webpage inside that frame. How do I specify: 1) to load webpage in a different iframe from the one that contains the link 2) to load webpage in the "frame" that contains the iframe with the link, i.e. in this case: load the linked webpage instead of the page that contains the iframe with the link. I realise this is probably quite straightforward, but I'm new to this stuff. Could someone please help me out? Thanks! I'm blocked at a weird scenario. Can i control the display of either of the 4 columns using HTML using this case? I want to hide one of the columns. Thanks in advance! I want to hide a table column when a window gets too a certain width. I've clocked onto the media tags, and I've used them to re-structure my navigation bar and I know the media tags work beautifully, I just need to remove a column from a table, the last column too be exact, using just HTML. Alternatively, If I can't remove it how can I make it seem like it's gone? I've tried setting the column width too 0px but that doesn't work. there's an image inside the column though, and I reckon that might be what's messing this up. Any suggestions guys? Hello, I'm working on an internal training CD where I'm going to have several Quicktime videos and I need to categorize them by Chapter & Movie Title, similar to: Chapter 1 - Bananas Movie 1 Movie 2 Movie 3 Chapter 2 - Grapes Movie 4 Movie 5 Movie 6 Etc..... The end user would click on "Movie #". It should be easy enough, but there are two things I need. One - for the Microsoft Active Control warning to go away (not appear) as this will be run locally, and Two - for the movie file to run outside of the browser, or at least for the browser to not show any toolbars or menu options as the movie fills most of the screen. Any way to do this in HTML - something that is easy for me to make the links. I'll have probably a hundred or so movies to each of the CDs I'm compiling, so that's a lot of manual linking. Thanks... I am trying to read an HTML file from a file system and render it. What would be the fastest way to read and render such a HTML file? Tried iFrame and setting the inner HTML of a div tag. But both were equally slow. (surprisingly iFrame was better) Hey. My boss has asked me to make a sort of...main user page. The employees will log in to this 'main page' (did this using php) and then they can get access to their time sheets, expense sheets and other things. Im just wondering the best way to do a lay out is.. I need to have the company logo in the top. and then I was thinking a bar just under that with all the different options. then underneath that will appear all the info. Say they pic time sheet, it would appear underneath. I was reading on w3, and I was reading about frames...but when I go to use them phpDesigner v6.2.3, i just get red underlined syntax errors, which leads me to believe they arent correct to use anymore (granted they do get the job done when i preview my page ) If you can tell me what I should research up on, that would be great. I have divided a html page in two frames.one is header another is the main page. In main frame there is login form, when i am submitting form it calls the next page in the same frame by default and address in the address bar is not changing because page in the address bar is not changing only main frame is changing. And i have frames HTML. I know this question as be asked 10000 Times. How do i get the flash menu to go to my main frame page. It keeps opening in its own window a new window or taken up the hole window with out the frames. I tryed eveything including (release) { getURL ("main.html", "main"); } But it still doesnt work but i have no idear how to get this to work I used the following code in Firefox-3.0.4 (Full Screen mode) . I have two vertical frames (Video and messenger). In the video frame VLC playing on top of the video frame (Not embedded into HTML). The Video is playing correctly, except sometimes only "a black color background" comig, not always (Within the video frame, vertically left-half/right-half/Full of the frame is black color background) is appearing between VLC-video and Frame. Since I have positioned the video (top:8px; left:57px), I can noticed when above taken place. Actually, in my application VLC is independent of Firefox/HTML.l So I want to avoid the black-color background. I dont want the black color background. Actually, this is happening when skin changes, the code attached is currently having skin_10 (for resolution 1024x768). Similarly changing skin_1 for the same resolution, but cols, and rows only changing. ie. frame size is changing for different skins. I use XSLT to create a html document, and I'm not THAT familiar with html I want to divide my html page in 2 frames via a frameset. For many reasons I only want ONE html document at the end. Hello everybody, Im currently working on a website that requires a message checker of sorts. Basically every 10 seconds a frame on the bottom of the page refreshes, that page checks for new messages and if any messages exist which the user hasnt been told about a dialoge appears. It also shows the total number of unread messages. Heres the problem: Everytime the message checker refreshes it puts an entry in the back history, so if a user sits at a certain page for a minute they would have to hit back more than 6 times to go back one page. For instance thier history would look like this: Message Checker Message Checker Message Checker Message Checker Contacts Message Checker Message Checker Communications Message Checker Is there a way to tell the browser not to register a certain frame in the history? I also made it so the message checker checks to see if anything has changed since the last refresh and if nothing had changed i made it go back a page but that has very mixed results and none of them desireable. Any Ideas? Hi, I am currently creating a HTML e-newsletter, and need the frame/template to essentially remain static. In other words, when the recepient alters the size of their preview/display panel in their email program (eg Outlook), the column widths/spacing and text size remains the same. Could anyone please advise as to how this is done? Thanks! Hi guys, not much of a programmer and new here... but putting a site together for a friend. I have an swf file taking up the majority of a page. On the edges of are a couple of AP images (using dreamweaver). Looks great when all loaded up, but the images within HTML load well before the SWF (depending on connection speed) and it looks a bit goofy. Is there any kind of script that will hold back displaying these images until the flash is fully loaded? Many thanks for any and all advice!!! I want to be able to have a script in my .html page that loads HTML from a file in the directory so that if I want to update, I can change only he file and not every single web page. I know it's possible and pretty simple, would appreciate all help. |
