HTML - Forward Slash At The End Of Links
Hi Guys,
I was on my site when I decided to add a forward slash at the end of my index page and all the css dissapeared. Does anyone know why this happens and how one can resolve it ? Similar TutorialsDoes anybody know if this could be fixed? Browsers are automatically adding a trailing slash to this type of URLs: news://8788365112506@newsgroups.comcast.net Although the source code is without trailing slashes: <A HREF="news://a535b$4569219e$54697c62$7238@cache10.multikabel.net">Download</A> Is this possible to be fixed? Maybe this could be done with CSS or JavaScript? Many thanks in advance! Okay so recently I updated my website so the URL for my home page is now: http://www.benellett.com/index.php However I would either like to somehow make that page show up as just the base website: http://www.benellett.com/ or have the benellett.com page forward to the /index.php page. Preferably I want benellett.com/index.php to be the "home" page like it would be if it were index.html (like my old website in the link). Thanks a lot! I could use some help with this. I'm trying to make a basic poll. What I want is that after the user votes, it shows the results for about 2-3 seconds and then forwards them to one of my advertiser's pages in a new window. Because of the 2nd part, I haven't been able to use any of the available WP plugins since they store all the results on their servers. What's the right way to do this? Hi, and sorry for being yet another individual with the same question. I am a total rookie as far as code, and someone else built this form for me. I know enough to know that given that I do not see an email addy anywhere in the code, that is is not surprising that I am not receiving it. This is a form built into a wordpress site. I assume something is missing at the very beginning where it says "mailsend.php" If anyone could tell me what code I need to add, I would GREATLY appreciate it. Thank you in advance! <form action="mailsend.php" method="post" name="contactform" onsubmit="return fullcheck()"> <table width="196" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td colspan="2" class="formtext">If you would like to schedule a free personal injury consultation, contact the Scott McPherson Law Firm in New Port Richey, Florida today.</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"><img src="images/sp.gif" alt="" width="1" height="16" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td width="67" class="formtext">Name:</td> <td width="129"><input name="name" type="text" class="form_border" style="width:129px;" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"><img src="images/sp.gif" alt="" width="1" height="6" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td width="67" class="formtext">Email:</td> <td width="129"><input name="email" type="text" class="form_border" style="width:129px;" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"><img src="images/sp.gif" alt="" width="1" height="6" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td width="67" class="formtext">Phone:</td> <td width="129"><input name="phone" type="text" class="form_border" style="width:129px;" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"><img src="images/sp.gif" alt="" width="1" height="6" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td width="67" class="formtext">Address:</td> <td width="129"><input name="address" type="text" class="form_border" style="width:129px;" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"><img src="images/sp.gif" alt="" width="1" height="6" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td width="67" class="formtext">City:</td> <td width="129"><input name="city" type="text" class="form_border" style="width:129px;" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"><img src="images/sp.gif" alt="" width="1" height="6" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" valign="top"><table width="196" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="left"> <tr> <td width="65" class="formtext">State:</td> <td width="56" align="left"><input name="state" type="text" class="form_border" style="width:50px;" /></td> <td width="24" class="formtext">Zip:</td> <td width="51"><input name="zip" type="text" class="form_border" style="width:47px;" /></td> </tr> </table></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"><img src="images/sp.gif" alt="" width="1" height="6" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td width="67" valign="top" class="formtext">Comments:</td> <td width="129"><textarea name="comments" class="form_border" style="width:129px; height:86px; overflow:hidden;" rows="" cols=""></textarea></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" class="formtext">Please insert what you see in the image: </td> </tr> <tr> <td><img src="captchaImage.php" alt="captcha image"/></td> <td><input type="text" id="captcha_input" name="captcha_input" class="form_border" style="width:129px;" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"><input type="hidden" value="<?=basename($_SERVER['PHP_SELF'])?>" name="pagename" /><img src="images/sp.gif" alt="" width="1" height="13" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" align="right"><input type="hidden" value="1" name="enter" /><input type="image" name="submit" src="images/submit.jpg" /></td> </tr> </table></form> Hi, ive been trying for ever, but i just cant make a code that forwards all the emails from my contact form thing to my email adress. if you want me to be more spacific, just ask. ---------------- Thanks, zigga Hi there, I'm coding a html website with two frames (one top, one bottom). From the homepage, when the user clicks a link, both the top and the frame the link's in change. when my user is on that new page and click the back button in the toolbar, only the top frame (title) changes, but not the bottom one. So, for the 2nd page, I need a way to make the toolbar's back button move the viewer two steps instead of one. Is that possible? thank you, RandomNameHTML Hi All, I am writing with a question. When you leave a website from a link and then hit the back button to revisit the original webpage how do you get the original webpage to not reload? THe original webpage should not refresh unless you hit the refresh button... I thought by default it would not. Does this make sense?? Any ideas? can someone provide me with a working html code for my blogspot so that i can go back and go forward pages ): ive tried like a dozen if not more codes but not one of them work the 'go back' thing shows up but it doesnt actually work help please I have very limited knowledge of any programming. I own a site and would like to host a 2nd private website where users can email to. The catch is that they when I hand out the email as xxxxxxx@mysite.com (xxxxxxxxx being anything,) I can trace back to anyone who sends me spam. This is similar to spamgourmet.com ,infact it is pretty much the same thing. The only problem I find with spamgourmet is that emails are processed EXTREMELY slowly. Can anybody help me? I'm looking for code that would let me do what I said up there or some kind of script or where I should host the site. Thanks Hi everyone, I hope I have posted this in the right area. This is my first time posting here. I currently have my main pages listed at the top of my site as graphics (see fussybaby.ca). I would like to potentially remove these graphics and use text links instead - I had the graphics designed for me, so I can't just go in and make new ones, however I'd like to change/rearrange the links and add some new ones. So my question is: How hard is this to do? Is this something I need to hire someone to do for me? Thanks in advance for any advice! Hi, Can someone help as I am having a problem with using a "/" at the end of my urls which I generate. The problem is http://www.linksmart.com.au/ash/index.html/ - will get a 404 error http://www.linksmart.com.au/ash/index.html - will not If I use a .php http://www.linksmart.com.au/ash/index.php/ - I will get the page but no images http://www.linksmart.com.au/ash/index.php - will work ok. I think It appears to have something to do with naming the landing file in the url as domain names work ok. Can anyone explain. Regards Peter http://www.website.com looks much better in the URL bar than http://website.com. How do I forward my website ***.dk to www.***.dk? This is a line of code in my XSL file. It is supposed to generate a link and the link text is the same as the URL. Code: <a href="<xsl:value-of select="." />"><xsl:value-of select="." /></a> It generates this error: Code: XML Parsing Error: not well-formed Location: http://levichi.com/portfolio/portfolio.xsl Line Number 35, Column 16: If I remove the "a href" code, my XML file is displayed well, so it must have something to do with the link code. I suspect it has something to do with nested quotes? does anyone know how to have a link within XSL files? I tried to use <link>, but it doesn't work. here is a sample of my tempalte. I want to be able to have "you have already registered" to be clickable to a link. Is this possible? I've even tried html a href, but no luck. Quote: <xsl:template match="already_reg"> <h2>Submission Sucessful</h2> <p>You have already registered.</p> </xsl:template> I was wondering how to do 2 link's in 1, Like where you can click a link, and a little slide bar will popout and show a preview of a page, but if you open it in a new tab. it will actually go to that page instead of opening a preview of the page. Basically 2 different link's, Does anyone know how to do this? (an example of this is on facebook, on the right side of the page where your "online friends" are. if you click there name, an instant message box pops up at the bottom, but if you right click there name and open in a new tab it goes to there profile instead of opening the Istant message box. The problem with having only a nominal knowledge is that everything you want to do ends up taking hours because you can't figure out what it's called so you don't know how to search for it! I'm trying to have a left sidebar where when you hover over it, a new menu of links appears. Here are a few examples of what I'm looking for: Amazon. When you hover over the books or other links to the right, it gives you more options: http://www.amazon.com/ PBS. If you hover over Episodes it gives you more options. I want a left justified thing, but it's the same idea, I think: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/episo...oduction/3153/ Or even something as simple as this. Hover over "Club Events." http://www.springfieldkennelclub.org/ Thanks! Hi, I'm new at this and was wondering if anyone could help me with the Html syntax so that when i click on <a href> link instead of going to a new page it simply either drops down or pops out with a number of other links which actually bring you to pages?? Something like the main link it "options" and the sub link are "sounds" and "view". Thanks for your help!!!! I am trying to understand how links work in regards to going from one URL {A} to Another {B} that contains a 'saved' username and password in Fire Fox. If I go to {B} using the bookmarks on Fire Fox, then the saved username and password are shown and all I have to do is click on login. Works nice. If I go to {B} using a link within a Blog then the saved username and password are NOT shown and I have to re-enter them to login. A royal pain. I would like to create a link in the Blog so that when it goes to {B} the saved username and password are shown. Question: Why does the saved user name and password disappear ? How can it be corrected? Thank you for any help in understanding this. Nevyn Okay im trying to get a website started and here the problem my pages are not linking. here are the links i have. I am using Dreamweaver CS4 at home. What the problem is that I have linked my Myspace, my Youtube, and my Twitter on the site I am making. When I test out the links on the web what happens is that it uses the Web address I am at and the Web address I clicked and adds it together. For Example, Lets say I have linked my myspace on my youtube. It would look like this, www.youtube.com/www.myspace.com. Why does it do this. Anything helps. Thank you. |
