HTML - Making A Page View The Same In Different Resolutions
My webpage:
http://beamsvillepharmacy.com/site/index.html Fits my browser perfectly, however when viewed on other computers with a lower resoultion, the page doesn't fit and is too large. How can I edit my code, or go about making it automatically fit with different resolutions? (Right now it's all simple width="" height="", and that's how I was fitting it) Thanks. Similar TutorialsHi there. So I don't need it for 800x600, only the sizes over 1024x768. Basically I made this template which I need to be able to be re-sized when in your browser. I thought I did this right, however I forgot about other resolutions other than 1024x768. When in higher res, the tables break a little and from what I can make out just get a little larger. What I can't work out is how to make them all work properly most large resolutions? Link to the template is he http://www.ruthlessintent.com/penguins/ www.intoleranceclothing.com So this is not my expertise to say the least. My page looks fine on my resolution at home (1280x768) but of course does not look as intended on any other resolution. I have a few problems I'm trying to learn how to fix or control. 1) If you click the images of the shirts I want the popup to be centered in the x position and slightly below y center so the "Intolerance Clothing" still shows when the large picture is up. What would be the easiest way to go about this? Is there a way to set absolute position measured from the center of the page or how would I go about this? 2) Kind of along the same lines. The smaller pictures of the shirts align right up to the background image edges in my resolution. How can I go about positioning them so they are always the same location even if the resolution changes. Basically if the resolution gets bigger I'd like everything to just stay as is and add more black solid space around the image. 3) Another smaller change I'd like to make is currently the viewer has to click the larger image for it to close and they cannot bring up another lager image until it is closed. What do I need to modify to allow the larger image to be replaced by a new one if a different shirt is clicked? Thanks for any suggestions on where to go read or look to help solve these issues or if someone is kind enough to point me in the right direction. Hello I have a website with coding for a login and registration page.....I was able to get the login to work but the registation I am yet to figure out....but now when I go to my website and click on a link no matter what link it is it always makes me go to the login page.....any ideas why this is happening? How do I display how many views a page has had on another page? So if I had a homepage and an about page how do I display how many views the about page has had on the homepage? Im searching for codes what will disallow to view browser your page, i need opera, firefox, and internet explorer codes. Anyone know where i can find codes what will disallow them to view page? Thanks Hello all. I am creating my page from home on my personal desktop computer. It has a 17 inch, HP v72 crt monitor. The problem that I am having is getting my page to look right on other computers. eg.,image/text/link placement. Example: My page looks fine when I view it from home on my own pc. But when I view it on my pc at work, everything is out of place. How can I create a website that will look good on all the various monitor sizes, and screen resolutions? Thanks! Hello Folks, I'm not too sure which forum I should post this in, but hopefully this is the right one. I have created a horzontal Navigation bar using a repeating tile for the bottom of my page, which views fine on my hard drive. See screenshot attached. However, when I upload the page, the tile stops displaying and only the solid background shows. http://www.magicalwonders.com/Test2/Index.html I can't work out what is going wrong. I've tried renaming the file, deleting from the webspace and re-uploading, but it still refuses to display when uploaded. The other repeating tiles work fine, so I have no idea what's going on. Can anyone spot what may be the problem and save my sanity? Thanks, Myles I want to make a page on my website where someone can enter there email address and it will auto add it to my mailing list. And another place on the website where they can enter there email so unsubscribe to it. I do not have anything to start me of with this. E.g Database. Thanks your help How can I set up a page that automaticaly redirects my visitors to a new page? Can someone please tell me why this page does NOT print properly? http://www.unreal-deals.com/ebooks11...-printable.php I've tried everything I can possibly think of, removed all word html tags, cleaned up the source formatting, and still it doesn't work. Print preview on IE7 shows only 7 pages, and when I print it only prints 1 page then 60+ blank pages. Whats going on? Thanks Looks fine. Does not look fine. The first picture was fine because it was viewed with a 1024x768 resolution(which is the resolution that I'm working on my website with). However, any higher resolutions, and you'll see that the video goes out of place and moves too much to the right(second pic). I need to make it so that the video scales with all resolutions so it stays in place like in the first picture, no matter what the resolution is. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Please be specific, i.e. what code? Thank you. Hi guys, Been struggling with this for a few days so here's to hoping someone with a better knowledge of HTML can help me out! I've recently put up a little website to (hopefully) get a bit of freelancing work, but noticed when I checked it on a friend's computer that it looks really screwy on resolutions other than the one on my own computer. As in, everything gets scrunched up in the corner leaving a good half of the screen blank. I know the way around this is usually to convert sizes from pixels to percentages in the HTML code, but the inlet frame on the website refuses to cooperate with the percentage-based sizes. I really want this website to fit all resolutions so it looks professional & the way it should. Can anyone help me?? The website's at http://solar-flare.biz so you can get the code there. It's probably a bit of a mess coz I made it with Frontpage then tweaked it manually to get the background to stretch.... but anyway. Massive kudos in advance to anyone who can fix the code!!! Cheers Mateusz I have a to make web page containing 2 columns. This is done. Now what I would like to insert in the code is something like this: The 2 columns should be full screen on any resolutions. Something like the page would adapt to the monitor resolution. The percent would be 80% for the first column 20% for the se cond one. What I don't know - is how to do that. Would a table resolve this problem? What would be the code for this? Suggestion are well appreciated. Hi. This is something I have pondered on for a very long time and wish to know how to resolve. I have no idea if it is possible but I think I have seen it done before. I need a piece of code for a frame that will automatically readjust itself to the page that is targeted in the frame, but will only go so far as the parameters I set it to. To me, it sounds like a rather complicated code and I'm really not sure whether it is possible, but if it is, it would be extremely useful for forum pages that are set to be inside a webpage. What I want to achieve with this, is to have the frame to be able to extend itself inside the page, without putting a scrollbar on the actual frame. The page I have isn't actually structured with frames, so I would like to keep it that way. I have no idea if this IS possible but I would like to know. Thanks, KGB. Hi i was wondering if anyone can help me with making my page compatible with older browsers IE7+. My page is www.marksbodyshop.org The css is: Code: html, body { height:100%; margin:0; background-color:#000; background-image:url(../images/firstpage.gif), url(../images/firstpage-backup-for-safari.gif); /* required by Safari */ background-size:100% 100%; } #container { height:73%; background-image:url(../images/update.png); background-size:100% 100%; } #nav { position:absolute; padding:0; margin:0; list-style-type:none; height:7%; width:57%; top:20%; left:20%; z-index:1; } #nav li { width:16%; margin:1%; height:100%; } #nav a { display:block; width:100%; height:100%; outline:none; text-indent:-9999px; background-size:100% 300%; } #about {background-image:url(../images/aboutus.png);} #about1 {background-image:url(../images/contactus.png);} #about2 {background-image:url(../images/freelunch.png);} #about3 {background-image:url(../images/map.png);} #about4 {background-image:url(../images/meettheteambutton.png);} #nav a:hover {background-position:0 -100%;} #nav a:active {background-position:0 -200%;} I need to know what the common practice is to open a printable page in a new window after a link is clicked. Something that you can print from the page or from the browser. Normally I would just open in a blank target but the window doesn't open up tight to the printable media. Any help would be great. Thanks! Hi, I am working on adding non java-script buttons on my website using CSS style sheets. I used a technique given at http://builder.com.com/5100-6371-5323375-2.html. I modified the colors a little but it is basically using technique 2 at this link. Everything works well with the exception of one issue. In Internet Explorer, when I press a link and then use the back button on the browser to return to the previous page, the link for the previous page is still selected and the button appears to still be "pressed". You can see this by going to http://www.apexmoves.com with internet explorer, clicking one of the buttons on the left side of the site, and then using the browser's back button. You will see that the link that was clicked is still selected and this button appears to be stuck in the down position. If you click anywhere else on the screen, the button is released. This is because the link for the pressed button is has the status of active. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this. Is that a way to make the status of this link "visited"? Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Brad Hi! I'm having a problem with my website on larger screens. My website looks fine on my 1024 by 768 screen, but when I check it on higher resolution screens, all the content is stuck in the upper left corner leaving a big void on the right. How would I make my content appear in the middle of the screen like most modern websites? Or is there another solution that somebody can propose? Thank you for your time! Hi, I am a photographer and am trying to build my own site. Am using dreamweaver 8 and am ok using it, but my html is a little rubbish. have been developing my site, www.robertallenweddingphotography.co.uk, however just realised i have been developing at 1024x768 but if you look at the site at a lower or higher resolution it looks v.bad. Have read a few bits and pieces about using % instead of set pixels?! but am a bit lost! Can any body point me in the right direction? Basically want to end up with a site that looks 'correct' to as many people as possible! Thanks Rob |
