Hi, so I'm trying to make this e-mail newsletter. It's entirely images, tables and text. So no javascript, just plain stuff. I tried attaching it as a signiture file and I had trouble sending it. It also didn't come out right. I'm trying to avoid using a software. Its basically just a block of HTML I need to show up as the only content in an email. If you just put HTML into a email text field, it just shows the HTML code in the email as text. Any ideas? fgwtg tgwtgw twgwrtgwrtg Hey, Recently I've been coding the research group webpage for work. I used standard HTML 4.01 and CSS, which all verified perfectly with W3C, but for some reason IE is throwing a proper hissy fit! Whatever other browser I use (Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Google Chrome) it works fine, but IE doesn't seem to see the base properly so all my image and style file subdirectories aren't found. Here's a few lines from the header where I define the stuff of interest: HTML Code: <title>Mark E Vardy - Summary</title> <base href=""> <link rel="stylesheet" media="all" type="text/css" href="css/layout.css"> <link rel="stylesheet" media='all' type="text/css" href="css/style.css"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8"> Anyone any ideas? Hi guys, I posted a tread last week about a preloader to load and cache multiple files (swf) that are at different addresses before playing a flash page. Someone finally posted an answer, and the code is almost working perfectly. The way to make it work is by having an .html file, an .as file and a .swf loader file. But right now I have an issue with the html file. It's working perfectly in Safari and Firefox but not in Internet Explorer. In IE the swf appears really small in the window. Any ideas why ? The test address is; http://www.liferevolution.com/test2/ Here's the code for the html; HTML Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <script src="swfobject.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var flashVars = {}; flashVars.fileToLoad = "main1.swf"; //change here to same url wrote into the preloader array var params = {}; params.scale = "true"; // exactfit, noscale, noborder params.allowfullscreen = "true"; //params.salign = "center"; params.allowScriptAccess = "sameDomain"; params.quality = "high"; params.menu = "false" ; params.bgcolor = "#000000" ; var attributes = {}; //attributes.align = "center"; attributes.id = "mbox"; attributes.name = "mbox"; var breite = "0"; var hoehe = "0"; var swfFile = "javaScriptCaller"; var mainFlashApp = "myFlash"; var flashVersion = "9.0.0.0"; swfobject.embedSWF("preloaderExample.swf", "myFlash", "100%", "100%", "9.0.0.0","expressInstall.swf", flashVars, params, attributes); function fullScreen() { posHelper("100%","100%"); posHelper2((breite-20) + "px",(hoehe-20) + "px"); var ele = document.getElementById("flashPosition"); ele.style.margin = 0; ele.style.top = 0; ele.style.left = 0; ele.style.width = "100%"; ele.style.height = "100%"; } function posHelper (b,h) { var ele = document.getElementById("flashSize"); ele.style.width = b; ele.style.height = h; ele.style.overflow = "hidden"; } function posHelper2(b,h) { var ele = document.getElementById("htmlContent"); ele.style.position = "absolute"; ele.style.top = "0px"; ele.style.left = "0px"; ele.style.margin = "10px"; ele.style.width = b; ele.style.height = h; } function onLoadBody() { fullScreen(); } </script> <style type="text/css"> <!-- html, body { padding: 0; margin: 0; height: 100%; width: 100% } #meinFlash { position: absolute; left: 0px; top: 0px; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; } #htmlContent { } --> </style> </head> <body onload="javascriptnLoadBody();" style="background-color:#000000;"> <div id="flashPosition" style="background-color:#000000s; z-index:3;"> <div id="flashSize" style="z-index: 2;"> <div id="htmlContent" name="htmlContent" style="z-index: 2;"></div> <div id="myFlash" name="myFlash" style="z-index: 1;"> <p>Alternativ für Flash</p> </div> </div> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> var x = 0; </script> <noscript> <p>Javascript NoScript</p> </noscript> </body> </html> Thanks in advance !!!! Hi all. I've implemented an Image on my .html page using the following source code: Code: <img src = "www.myURL.com/images/logo.jpg" alt = "my Logo" width = 15% height = 15% > but I get a big X where the image should be. I've also tried just using "/images/logo.jpg" as the src, but that doesnt work either. My pages are all online by the way, and are not stored locally on my Hard Disk. All my pages are in www.myURL.com/pages/ and the images are in www.myURL.com/images/. Any tips? Thanks Hi! I'm pretty new to html, I'm trying to build my own fairly simple website using 123 reg Instant site and I want to make it from scratch with my own banners and buttons etc. I've been playing around putting some images up on the webpage, but I'm having problems getting the images to stay put, they move around when the browser window gets made smaller/bigger. heres the link to the website http://handbagshandbagshandbags.co.uk/ Any help would be really appreciated! Hi guys Im new to HTML (relatively) and would greatly apreciate some input or ideas as to what im doing wrong. I have recently created a website using a CMS (i know you shouldnt but i am learning HTML and will soon be ditching the CMS) and therefore have no control over the CSS One of the things i am doing on my site is to show artists work off to the world. Therefore they give me the images and i have little to no control over their appearence. To protect the images i have decided to make the actual art the background of a table and to put a blank image infront of it. However i have come across a problem. The picture doesnt seem to be showing as the size i am putting into it. If you go to http://www.dragonstouch.co.uk/page22.htm you will see what i mean. The code i am using for the top picture is: <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="520" border="0"> <tbody> <tr> <td width="520" background="http://www.dragonstouch.co.uk/userimages/OakdragonCR2.jpg" height="377" < td alt=""> <div align="center"> <div align="center"><img style="width: 520px; height: 377px" height="377" alt="Oak Dragon" src="http://www.dragonstouch.co.uk/userimages/Blank(1).gif" width="520" border="0" /></div> </div> </td> </tr> </tbody> <p align="center"></p> </table> Now as far as i can see i have set the height as 377 and the width as 520. When i rightclick and go to the blank images properties it shows as the height being 377 but the width as 540. I really have tried everything i can think of and nothing seems to help. Any ideas would be greatly apreciated. However due to recent experiences i would also make a couple of requests. I am trying very hard to learn HTML and i already know that the majority of you if not all of you have a far superior understanding of it than i do. I say this because the forums i went to before this one were very argumentative and tended to talk to me as if i were a moron. 2ndly i am aware that there is no foolproof way of protecting images. I say this because as before when i posed this question to a previous forum they just insisted i shouldnt do it and that images shouldnt be put on the net and would not help me. I dont mean to be rude or anything like that i just found my previous experience with the html experts very frustrating and therefore i just want to state that i am asking for help, not grief. I hope this doesnt put you off helping me. Thanks all in advance. Dariune (Lex) Hello, let me begin by saying that I know absolutley nothing about HTML but have been put in a position to learn a little I have made a dinky HTML page in MS Word 07 that we are trying to email to some folks on newsletter list and I am having an issue. When I send the test file to myself the images don't load. From what I understand they need to be hosted in order to load correctly. 2 Questions: 1) Can I host them on photobucket? 2) How in the heck do I get them to display properly??? I.E. Where does the IMG tag go? If anyone can help me I can post the source code and the IMG tags from photobucket...... Thanks! I saw some images embedded in text created with ▐ and ۩. If all you see are the images, the code is: &-#-9-6-1-6-; and &-#-1-7-6-9-; (disregard the hyphens). What are these images called and where are they documented? Don Hi all. I'm having a little bit of trouble with putting sliced images on my website and was wondering if you could help me out? I've made a very basic menu design in photoshop. I sliced the image using Photoshop then opened the resulting html file in Frontpage. When I opened the page in preview mode, the sliced images had moved slightly away from each other which is giving me gaps between the slices. Its also doing this when I view the page in a normal web browser, but not in photoshop Is this because I am using frontpage or could it be some kind of options setting in photoshop? Sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum btw....Any help would be great Thanks I have just started to learn HTML and was trying to get images on my exparimental web page. I haven't published the page and I have tried everything to get it to work. I can get images to work on my backround but not on the page itself. i.e.<img src="/pics/mf.gif" width="100" height="100">. I have used the full path name and all pics are in the same folder as my page. All I get is a box on the top left of where the pic should be, its like the image isn't loading. Please help Hi, I was wondering what the easiest way was to add an image loader to a cell on a table. Basically I want the user to be able to browse their images for an image file and then load that to another cell on the table. I don't have much experience with HTML but I need to learn how to do this code for one of my assignments and I couldn't find any clear tutorials on how to do it. Any help would be appreciated. I have a website that has an image that loads at the top of the page, and then text about the image that loads below it. My problem is I placed an anchor by the text, underneath the image, so when a certain link is clicked it skips the image and goes right to the text where the anchor is....but when I click on a link to refer to that anchor, it loads to where the anchor is before the image size (width and height) loads. Then, the image loads, and expands th epage, and the image is on screen instead of the text I anchored to. Is there any easy way to make it so the anchor waits for the image to load before going to where it is....or so the image preloads the size and expands to that width and height before bothering to load the entire image so the anchor will be positioned right....or anything along those lines? To clarify, it looks like this: <p><img src="image location" /></p> Text: <a name="reviews" id="reviews"></a> and then the link : <a href="site.php?cnt=<? echo($cnt); ?>&pg=<? echo($pg - 5); ?>#theanchor"> Prev 5 </a> and the anchor position loads before the image loads, so instead of skipping the picture and displaying the text, it just displays only the bottom 90% of the image or so. Any ideas would be welcomed , --Tony |
