HTML - Changing Graphic Links To Text Links - How Hard Would It Be?
Hi everyone, I hope I have posted this in the right area. This is my first time posting here. I currently have my main pages listed at the top of my site as graphics (see fussybaby.ca). I would like to potentially remove these graphics and use text links instead - I had the graphics designed for me, so I can't just go in and make new ones, however I'd like to change/rearrange the links and add some new ones.
So my question is: How hard is this to do? Is this something I need to hire someone to do for me? Thanks in advance for any advice! Similar TutorialsIs there any way to have one hyperlink change to another once it is clicked? And I want it to change to the link of the page of the member who clicked it. Also, I want it to not change if a someone who isn't a member clicks it. ok i had resolved my earlier problem of my links being spaced earlier with help fro pegasus and now i got a new problem lol. i know how to change the background and colors for my links using css in most cases by calling a.Blah:link... and so on and the :hover... but in this case it is not working. Here is my css at the moment. Code: #Nav{ width: 948px; height: 18px; border-top: 1px solid #FFA701; border-right: 1px solid #000000; border-left: 1px solid #000000; border-bottom: 1px solid #FFA701; } #Nav a{ padding: 0; margin: 0; height: 18px; color: #ffffff; text-transform:uppercase; text-decoration: none; font-weight: bold; overflow: hidden; } #Nav ul li {display: inline; padding: 0px 5px;} #Nav ul {margin: 0px; padding: 0px; } my problem is that my links i want to be starting on a black background and they'll be white colored links. (which they are i'm using body bg for my page.) then i want as they are visited to stay white colored. the main thing i would like to have is that when you hover over them, the links turn black and the background of the links turn white. now i know it's easy with hover: {background:#000000} but i don't know how to place it because when i did it did not work. thx in advance edit: oops i posted this in html. (still help anyway it has somewhat to do with html probably ) ill post in css also though I already have the body tags, I want a certain section to have links of a different color. I tried but obviously that doesn't work. It seems like i should know this... but I am blank. Ok, so I've made a site for my Dad's business but one thing is really starting to **** me off, when I rollover text hyperlinks I can put my mouse between the text like if there's a "n" i can put my mouse like inside the n and it won't go to the hover and underline properly, it only underlines once I've put my mouse on the actual text, and it just doesn't make any sense... (www.garlandsails.co.uk) go to the narrowboats page and if you rollover the links on that page you'll see what I mean, any help is appreciated, Thanks, Jack Hey all, Im trying to put a html link in a html textbox, yet its not working, the code is not active, it just shows what ive typed. One of these frames contains some text and when I click this text, I want it to open a new web page in each frame. As far as I can tell, this means giving two links with two different targets to the same text and I've tried wrapping the text with two tags, but to no avail. My current pages look something like this: Quote: This is the HTML code for my frames page:
<frameset cols="42%,*"> <frame name="table" src="table.html"> <frame name="image" src="image.html"> </frameset>
Quote: This is the relevant code in table.html, the page that contains the text which has to open a link in each frame: This is supposed to open both links I've tried with having only one or both closing tags and neither of them work. What happens is only the first link, 1.html, opens in the "table" frame. The second link is completely ignored. I might be doing this completely wrong but I'd appreciate any help or pointers as to what I should do to fix this. Thanks! When I place links on my bands myspace page the link text displays on the page vertically instead of horizontally on some computers. It displayed correctly (Horizontally) on the PC I created it on, but when i view it on other PCs the text was vertical. Here is the page. It's the white text near the top. Hi there Anyone know how to force a long piece of link text to wrap on to the next line. Only seems to be a problem in FireFox. Here is the offending page: http://packlife.co.uk/news.asp By the way, the content is generated by the client via content management, otherwise I would stick in a
. Thanks, Kev I just need a basic code for this. For what I presume is basic anyway. On MySpace, I'll insert links, and MySpace will automatically make it a hyperlink, but won't allow you to visit certain links that you click on. How do you prevent it from being a link and so that it's just text? I thought <nohtml> worked, but apparently it doesn't exist. Would help me out loads, thanks, Sam/. On some websites where you type in the link and you are on the site in front of the link where normally E for the internet they change it to an image. Here is an example http://www.bf2player.com click on the link and look at the address bar. HOW CAN I DO THAT. Please Help MCBGamer. I'm trying to position text, links and pictures to follow one after the other, but it doesn't work. I want to see "Homepage" on the left corner of my webpage "Next" on the right corner of my webpage Unfortunately this command doesn't work properly.
Home
Next

It makes the "Next" go down a line, instead of being in the same line of the "Homepage". Also, on that vein, is there any way I can align images and text on the same line without using spaces*? As in:
Hello

Hello

Hello
But they all should stay on the same line. Any guides, or even links to tutorial about my issue would be appreciated. I've been trying to google for a while, it's becoming frustrating. *I think the problem with spaces is that people with different resolution would see the text in different places than I want them to see. http://goldenworldgoods.awardspace.com/ Hello again, I did this site in Dreamweaver, looked fine in my dreamweaver editor, uploaded it and voila everything goes nuts. List of Problems: The Links are not positioned properly, not big enough plus the drop downs to the bottom and not to the right. That was properly my fault since I just copied a suckerfish method... But can someone help with this. If you study the News Header in the CSS, it says it has a background image, how ever it doesn't show when I uploaded it. I know the url and the pic is correct cause it worked in Dreamweaver... The background for "welcome" is all the way up there which isn't supposed to happen, it supposed to be right on top of the Hello text but that isn't happening either. The hello and welcome are supposed to be aligned to the left of the right header. Thats about it, please can someone help me. I've changed the format of this like 3 times just to get it correctly done, but nothings working. Thank you And don't worry I got it all validated and what not hi team, just wondering what code i would require to make a text box with a search button next to it and having the following characteristics... * input can be any letter/number (say for eg: 5555) * onclick sends parent window to www.website.com/5555 thus whatever you enter into the box sends you to a website address with the text box entry at the end. this is for an internal webpage at our small business. cheers and any tips appreciated!! Hi, I want to insert a link to hyperlink "consolidating a loan" to the following web address www.debtconsolidationcare.com on my website. My website is http://www.intelligentstudentfinance.com/ and need the link on the orange section where it says Sponsored Links in blue. I have uploaded the files zipped so they can be opened in dreamweaver. The file that you need is index.html. It is supposed to generate a link and the link text is the same as the URL.
