HTML - Links Not Updating When 'a Href' Is Changed
OK, I have an expandable menu that, when someone clicks on an image, it takes them to a certain page. The code is currently:

I have about 12 of these links, and all the others in the menu work fine. With this particular one, I changed the "parent.main.location" At first, the line was 'parent.main.location="story.php"'); but I decided to change it. I've uploaded all the changes, and yet this link STILL accesses 'story.php' instead of 'background.php' like it is supposed to. This is the best part: I deleted the page 'story.php' off my server. Even after me doing that, the link continues to call up that page. I have cleared my cache, cookies and Firefox's "personal data" collection. Also, there are no other pages on my site that even look like 'story.php'. Anyone know why a line of code specifically calling for a different page would keep pulling up an old page - especially a page that has been deleted? Hello, I'm trying to create a little page that auto updates itself whenever new files are added. The system is layered such that I have the top level index.html file, then in the same directory, I can add new folders that contain other index.html files. What I want to do is have the top level index.html file pick up every sub directory, grab the name from the directory, and then create a link to that directory's index.html file and then display it in the top level index.html file. I am trying to adjust the the nested divs margin, but the problem I am having is when I change the margins of it, then it changes the margin of the div that it is in. By the way, it is nearly perfect as well as beautiful. Below the picture is a button that when clicked, the picture changes to the next picture in the series of pictures. I want to beable to change the bulleted text when the picture changes. 2nd, I want the text at the bottom of the screen to beable to be changed. 3rd, I would like to beable to have a switch in the code that I can set so that only 1 of the two text areas will change and the other stay as is. On a car application, I would leave the bulleted text as is and only change the text below. Probably there should be 2 seperate switches that can be turned off or on. I have one customer (advertiser) that wants the bulleted text to change and have no text at the bottom. Can anyone help me. Now the Blue E icon for my index.html has changed. I can still open it by choosing open with Internet Explorer. This is driving me nuts does anyone know how to get the Icon back. I am running WindowsXP. I do hope my post is clearer than mud is I'm utterly confused. Within my heavily "modded" phpBB2 forum, at the top is our Logo, which is a gif image of 800 x 150 in size. Always has been that size since last year (apart from a change in the logo itself). Now, up to a couple of days ago, the Logo displayed correct ratio in ALL browsers. But for some extreme strange reason, the image is now reduced from 800 to 720 in Firefox!! None of the css has been altered, not the overall_header.tpl file, not has any configurations for the Firefox browser been messed about with either. Section from overall_header.tpl file... I recently updated my website, I moved my company logo so it would be above my main navigation, however by doing this I needed to change the .css slightly (the "Stage" width was altered - this was the only thing I changed). By doing this it allowed for a slightly newer navigation layout which you can view HERE. However since I have done this, the website is no longer viewable properly using a Mac (it still looks fine on a PC) why would this have changed? I have a link that handles being clicked with javascript. Currently I am doing the following: <a href="#" id="foo"> click me </a> And I handle the event of when foo is clicked in javascript. Ideally I would like it not to show the fake hyperlink when hovering over the link. Is there a better way to do what I am trying to accomplish? I want to keep the mouse icon changing when hovering over the link. Thanks, Mike Hi, new to list. I have a php page which has the results of a database query listed in 3 columns. One of the columns is a href with uses a name and code, opens up a form within an iframe and is supposed to use the list items in the form, however on one of them it only uses part of it - eg. <a href=http://<servername>/production/job_load.php/?code=$row[5]&job_name=$row[4] target=\"rpt_frame\">$row[4]<a> If $row[4] is "BOB and Fred" for example, it will only use "Bob" and ignore everything after the first space. It's an issue in several applications and I've had to work around it but I really need it this time. Everything else works fine. Any suggestions anyone? ok so i'm using a CMS and I have a page created a header, a left column, and a body I'm trying to have links in the left column display information in the body when clicked however since its a CMS the body doesn't have an actual html page? i've tried <a href="xxxxx.html" target="body">xxxxx</a> However it doesn't work I'm not sure how i'm supposed to be able to link to the body...is there a way that I can label the body? Total beginner here so please treate me gently... I have just written my 1st bit of html, using frameset and tables. All has worked ok, nothing grand, just 3 frames. Frame19(name="banner") is like an address banner, frame2("nav") is a navigation bar using a table and frame3("main") being like a main page which changes dependent on the navigation bar cell chosen. I've used href to navigate with which is working fine when only one action is required but I can't seem to get two actions to work, ie selecting in the navigation frame changes the other two frames. All is good and working. With text, if the text I link is coloured, with the h-ref tag, regardless of text colour, it becomes blue, and when clicked, purple. Hi, i have a problem with a intranet page that i am editing. I created it using quanta plus on my laptop testing with Firefox and it worked fine. I then moved the file to my network drive at my work place and tested with IE and again this worked fine. I then moved the file to the intranet webserver and this is when things started to go wrong. When i click on the the link to open the excel file for some reason IE adds the webserver to the path. eg when i hover over the link, the text at the bottom of the screen reads //webserver/file:R:/shares/file.xls. Of course this path is incorrect so the window fails to open. Has anyone come across this problem before and know how to fix this? See below for example code. Any help/advice greatly appreciated. However when I click the main logo in FF for some reason it pulls uphttp://fishcaves.com/fishcaves.com which obviously doesnt exist. I am confused because the href works like it is supposed to in safar but not FF. Not sure about IE. Any advice would be excellent, thanks. Drew |
