HTML - Dreamweaver Template Won't Update Pages!!
In the Optional zones only one of my zones will update! I save the template and it's fine but the rest of my pages won't update!! What gives??
swingrays Similar TutorialsI have a Dreamweaver template located in a folder called "Templates" - the default and seemingly unchangeable folder Dreamweaver saves .dwt files in. All my .htm files are located one folder up. When I make a new page from this template, my new page can't find images because the template sees them in this directory: "../resources/images" and the page sees them in this one: "resources/images". The file in question is part of the background and therefore not an editable region, so I can't just remove the "../" to link the file correctly. Previously, Dreamweaver has updated the links to wherever I save my .htm file but not today. What am I doing wrong? I'm not sure this is the correct place to post this question. Please redirect me if it is not. I am trying to use a template for all the pages on my site. I am using Dreamweaver. When I apply the template to a new page, it appends the path of the template directory to all my links, and won't let me edit them. I'm not sure in general how templates are supposed to work. Can I do this without Dreamweaver? Is there a good FAQ on templates somewhere that I can read? Thanks. ---------- Can anybody tell me how to do it? For example: <a href="contacts.html"> How do I create the web page for contacts.html? To be specific, I need to add content to each page. Every time I try adding content using the <p> tag, I get a blank page when I preview it. I just need to know how to keep the design of the home page when I click the link of the new web page; just with different content. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. :[ /html noob. & oh, i don't have a domain. This is just a mere school project. So I don't have an existing URL in the first place. Hello, I'm starting off. I have done a little before. I have tinkered around with html and css. I wanted to know if there is a way to have one main page with the template filling the surrounding the page, and then have the inner page be dynamic. This way I only would have one web page, and every link would change the center. What can i research to accomplish this, other than frames. unless that is the only way to do it. Would other scripting languages help, like php? Please point me in the right direction to do this with any examples or topics to research. Than you in advance! Hi I am designing a form to update a template i have created. The idea is to leave the form with a user and they can input details which will update a template i have designed for use with ebay. However i have designed it using javascript and when this updates my template it doesnt actually fill out the data, it is only taking the data from the intial form not actually making a new hard copy with the data? Is there a way of making an area of content (such as a set of links in a menu bar) updatable so that if it is updated it will change across all the specified pages on the site? I am vaguely aware of templates in Dreamweaver CS3 and I think this would provide the solution, but my friend uses Frontpage and will be editing and creating content in that. Is there a way of using CSS to update areas of content? I know how to use CSS to update values like fontcolour and background images, but not areas of actual HTML content. Thanks for any help you provide. When you are using dream weaver for a website, do you have to install it onto the server I was going to use it because I think it's a nice layout for HTML coding. I'm starting a new website on Dreamweaver. Can't remember how I did this the first time: I need some jpg images to go into my images folder. I created a folder for my website on my hard disk (local root folder)...and I defined my site on Dreamweaver, with an image folder....but when I try to add images to the folder, it won't accept them on Dreamweaver. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? can you please give a site or link where can I download dreamweaver? I have heard is good to build web pages and learn html. Thanks! I have a site and the spry menu bar won't go all the way across the screen. anyone know why? Hello every1, I'm using adobe cs3 now, but i seem to be having a little bit of a problem. When i come to type in the html code: <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> wmode="transparent" The code does not seem to work now. What is the new code that i will need to enter? Or do you have to do something in flash? Thanks for the info? ok, so since i've switched over to Div i felt like there was no more needs for Dreamweaver anymore. Does anyone feel like this? I mean, maybe i just don't know how to use DIV in Dreamweaver, becuase i've been doing it all by hardcoding by hands. becuase when i try to align a div to the right or left, there is no button in the property that lefts me do it, so i have to get into the code and change it. and when i do use it, seems like the only feature to use is "layers" ( i think this "is" div ). so currently i'm thinking that dreamweaver is built for tables. is this correct? Shoot, now i feel like i've spent so much money and now is barely using the program anymore( execpt for the typing tool tip). In the site: www.eldon.com see those little dotted lines in the page? I couldn't figure out how they did this to save my life... Thanks... Dear Members, When I type more text, it gets scroll but it disturbs all of my bars which is above. How do I rectify them? Please see the link which is mentioned below http://www.sahiwala.com/christian/index.html Please give me a solution at the best Best Regards I have been following this incomplete tutorial series http://www.youtube.com/user/EdzJohnson and have a finished product of what was done in Photoshop Website Design Tutorial 2. As of right now there is no third tutorial but I would still like continue developing my website. Currently the code represents the lay out of sliced up images for the web banner and some map tags surrounding the locations of where a button would link you to something else. However, I do not know where to place the link tags so the map locations actually link you to something else. does anyone know where to place the link tags? For example, in the pic, if you clicked Cost it would load a page within the loading area without taking off to another location. I seen it on a site before, i remember the links were something like "/?p=cost" or something like that. And the page appeared to not navigate elsewhere, the cost page was just loaded within the page i was on. hope that makes sense, if so any examples on this? is it hard to do? messy? safe with most browsers? thanks hi.i need some help : i got a web page that looks something like this how can i make the background image to autoresize according to the screen resolution of the monitor from where the page is seen?same with the banner and the rest of the images.i basically want my website to look exactly like in the picture no matter what is the resolution of the screen and without a scroll bar. and another thing: how can i make to load only the text on the orangebox when i click a side link(e.g:assus) without refreshing the hole page.and how can i put a scroll only on the orange box so i can put a longer text and not to exit from that rectangular space? thank you Hi. Can anybody tell me the best way of adding a <div> to loads of pages that I have made without a template.
