HTML - Images Don't Show In Final Hosted Site

Hey everyone,

I'm pretty new to html, and am having a problem with displaying some images. I cant seem to find any problems with the code I have, but the images wont show up in any browser.

I'm positive I have the file name and extension right, there all jpg's and all around 560KB. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all,

I'm a technical author based in the UK, but I've got a problem with an online help system I'm producing - I hope you can help, I've been pulling my hair out for days trying to find a solution to this!

My problem is with the security update courtesy of Microsoft and the "Page not displayed" problems it causes. The container and TOC produce fine, but the right pane shows the error. Now, my chm has to be stored on a network and will be viewed by over 500 people on terminals, so I'm unable to load anything onto any local drives, so I can't do the "Unblock" security fix. None of the users will have admin privileges and bearing in mind there are so many machines, I'm also unable to change the registry settings on the machines, so this rules out fix number two.

I wonder, is there any code that could be put into the chm itself to confirm it as a valid file, and thus open directly from the network without having to modify each individual pc? Or indeed would anyone know of a script that could be run from the network to update everyone's machines all at once?

If none of these work, I guess I'm reduced to producing plain HTML files, but I'm hoping I can find a workaround as I particularly like the TOC/index/search facilities of HTML help, and the fact I only have to ship a couple of files.

none of the images are showing in my table. the are specified to the correct location. anyone have any ideas why this is?

Hi, I don't have access to the mail() function, is there a way to send the contact form submissions without it? Shall I use a contact form hosted remotely?

Hi everyone
Newbie here and nearly finished my first site - phew!

I have one quick question - you know how a browser shows an outline box of the shape of an image before the image downloads, well, is there any way to get rid of it?

This box disappears once the image has loaded so it is nothing to do with the "border" tag and all of my images have the height, width border="0" and alt tags completed.

(I use a lot of images on the my site as I am a photographer and it looks really ugly while it is waiting for the images on a slow connection)

Am happy to use html, css, java...

I'm not sure even how to start dealing with this, so here goes. I have a site (adult) that users pay to see pics/videos. One of the members apparently is taking these pictures and uploading them to like an adult "hack" site... is there anything I can really do about this? If so, how would I go about it? I don't really want to disable the right-click, save as.. I have probably 3-4 thousand pictures up now, and more every week.

Any ideas?

Is there anyway to add a login system to a website hosted by another company. I have a free website hosting that I upload to using ftp. Is this possible? I don't know much about mysql but it seems like the database needs to be within my house for this to happen.

I will be working on a site soon and what I want to do is have a small box in which images scroll automatically from right to left. Similar to the image at the top of this page - http://www.huntingground.freeserve.c...mgscroll3h.htm - but I want it to be less wide and have one image showing at a time, at most two show at one time. I don't know if this is possible with HTML or if it is Javascript. I want it to repeat the images too.

Google chrome, IE 7 and 8, and i think Opera all load the images fine. but Firefox (latest version) just does not load all of them. I refresh the page and it loads the ones that did not load before but still has some unloaded. Can some one please explain to me or help me on this? i have been pulling my hair out

This is really strange. Normally I would expect to see something like this happening on pure CSS sites, but this is a good old fashioned table-based layout. If you go to:

and try to click on any of the menus, you'll see the menu item below it moves up. Also if you click on the logo it jumps down to the menu area? Very bizarre and have never seen this behavior in the 10 years I've been coding.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated :-)

My pages render fine in Firefox, but when all my pages except my main page, are shown in IE7 they all go kaput. Example: IE7, FF.

I am wondering if it is possible to create an INDEX.HTML to redirect to another website?

I would like it to display the redirected site, but if possible keep to the original address..

e.g.
A site named www.mysite.com, with an INDEX.HTML to redirect to www.othersite.com, which displays OTHERSITE with www.mysite.com in the address bar.

I tried the most simple thing that I thought of.. was adding both around the text, but, obviously that didn't work..

Does anyone know of any solution to my problem?
