HTML - Dynamic Form Switching
Hi Folks,
I was wondering if there was a way to dynamically load forms. The idea is that the user makes a selection and on the same page the appropriate form will appear. My guess is that JavaScript will be my friend but I'm new to this. Thanks! Similar TutorialsHi All, I am wondering if someone can recommnd an solution or point me in the direction i should be going. I am looking at creating a dynamic form, what i would like to do is use a drop down and depending on the dropdown selected the required fields would populate. I have attached an file to show as an example. If someone clicked on Item A they would get one set of fields to fill out. If that same person selected Item B they would get different fields to fill out ... All being mandatory.. Thanks ahead for any help or suggestions ... This is a great place to get info. Hi, I wonder someone could just point me in the right direction on how I may achieve this and can then read up on and give it a go?.. Basically I want to create a "form" on my web site that helps show how a somewhat complicated sporting play off system would work depening on where teams finish and who beats who in the play off system. What I want to start is six choices with drop down lists that allowed people to choose each of the six teams and where they finish in positions 1 to 6. When they do this I would like it to put that team in another selection where they can choose which team will beat who in the next play off game and advance until the final so they can see how it would pan out.. e.g. 1st - TEAM Z (chosen from drop down) 2nd -TEAM V 3rd - TEAM Y 4th - TEAM U 5th - TEAM X 6th - TEAM W Play off game (1st v 6th) TEAM Z (please select who you think will win) v TEAM W . . Final TEAM Z v TEAM U Hope that makes sense.. Like I say any pointers in the right direction so I can try it out.. I have Frontpage 2000 if that helps but not extensions on the server Thanks for the help.. Well I'm working on a website and Im trying to figure out if its possible to cycle background images in HTML. To have multiple images in on folder and each time a user logs in just randomly pick one of the 5 or so automatically so they have a different view each time... Not even sure this is possible. Thanks Thus far I've used Notepad, vi, and UltraEdit to code websites. However, my client uses Dreamweaver, so I need to build a website that he can easily edit in Dreamweaver. I am finding out Dreamweaver's "style" little by little, but can anyone here give me a few pointers? For example, I prefer to use div's, not table's, for layout. Is this going to make WYSIWYG editing difficult or buggy for my client? I prefer to use external stylesheets (in a separate .css file). But if my client tries to write new paragraphs with different font-styles, etc., won't Dreamweaver define new internal styles, e.g. "style13" in the <head/> section? Is this just an annoyance I'll have to deal with? Or is there a way to force the client to use the styles and classes I have specified? One thing I'll do for sure is set up his workspace so that the website conforms to HTML 4.01 Strict. That should help a little bit, I think. God help my feeble mind if <font> tags infect my beautiful code. Any tips are well appreciated! I learned the basics of XHTML using HTML Dog, so I now have a basic knowledge of XHTML. I've been reading about HTML online, and it seems like I want to switch to HTML5, since it seems like it's going t become the standard of the web and make XHTML obsolete. What are the differences between the two languages? How should I go about switching my XHTML pages to HTML5? How should I learn HTML5, and so on. Ok, I have a fantasy football site going, and on the NFL Draft page, I want to display the order for the teams for all 7 rounds. You'll see round 1, complete he http://pzpff.pzproductions.com/nfldraft What I want to do is make it so that I can make this: <!--#include txt="round1.txt" --> then for each round switch it out with that rounds text document... all the way up to 7... <!--#include txt="round2.txt" --> <!--#include txt="round3.txt" --> <!--#include txt="round4.txt" --> <!--#include txt="round5.txt" --> <!--#include txt="round6.txt" --> <!--#include txt="round7.txt" --> Do I have to do this with php, or is there a way to do it with html? Probably a simple problem, but I can't figure out how to do it. I am designing a site where some of the pages need to be secured via SSL and some don't. I would like to switch between the secure and non-secure pages, but I would like to do it with relative links. In other words, on a non-secure page, say aaa.com/index.html, I would like to do <a href="https://aaa.com/secure.html">Go to secure page</a> but I'd like to do it with a relative page reference to hide the overall structu <a href="https:secure.html">Go to secure page</a> only that doesn't seem to work. Ditto for going from pages handled with https: to http: . Am I missing something stupidly simple to make this work or do I have to give the fully qualified link all the time? Thanks! im wondering if any1 can help me figure out how i can keep my domain name and link it to my Apache Home Server with a Dyanmic IP i have tried no-ip.com but i dont like having sitename.no-ip.com i want sitename.com does any1 know a way to do this?? I need dynamic iframe and i found that I have found your script: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...iframessi2.htm but this doesn't exactly work in IE6 what to do solve this problem? I have 10 rows compose of 3 textbox per row. After pressing submit button, they are post to the next page to a table. But my problem is if only 3 rows have data the other rows is still shown in a table but blank with borders. So I want my table to show the rows who only have data i wont to add dynamic iframe work also in IE6 pls help me I also want to be able to make my website more interactive in this way: when I click on one table cell, another cell appears below, which can then be clicked on. Is there a way to do this with CSS and/or HTML, or will I have to resort to Flash? Hi, Is there anyway to script in such a way that if i never enter a specify to a cell, and give it 100% instead, my cell below will go all the way to the bottom by putting my whole table as 100% too? |--------------------------| | | | 100% | | | |--------------------------| | 50px | | | |--------------------------| something like that. well, it actually work in firefox and not IE, and i cant solve the problem. Thanks in advance. Hello, I am using a loop to dynamically generate buttons using the <button> tag. The value for this button is populated using a variable. When I click on one of these buttons, I want the content of the button to be displayed on the text field. But, because it is in a loop and the because the value is a variable only the value of the 1st button comes in and then disappears from the text field. The javascript I am trying out to populate the text field is : function passButtonValue() { poitem= document.getElementById("poitem"); hiddenField = document.getElementById("hiddenField"); hiddenField.value = poitem.innerHTML; } I am using ABAP for getting the values and running the loop How can I reprogram it to overcome this problem? Thanks! My apologies if this is in the wrong area, i have searched forum and could not find what i'm needing/doing wrong. I have a website that was in cold fusion, i am changing it to html/css. So i sliced it up and everything is good except the area i need to be dynamic for wordpress. Only half is stretching. The part where i want widgets to go is not stretching with rest. Sorry if my code is a mess, i'm just learning. Thanks for any advise or directions. Anyways, I have a simple project where I'm making a website that has a drop down menu with a list of items. I also have a table which will define the items. What i want to know is how to change the text in one of the table boxes when a new item in the drop down menu is selected. This is the code i have so far... Code: <html> <head> <title> My Definitions </title> </head> <body> <script type="text/javascript"> var define= new array() define["Unicode"] = "unicoded" define["Hexadecimal"] = "hex" define["Binary"] = "bin" define["Compiler"] = "compil" define["Interpreter"] = "inter" define["Topology"] = "top" define["Server"] = "ser" define["Overflow Error"] = "of" define["Phishing"] = "phish" define["Network"] = "net" function definition(def) { } </script> Select a definition from the list: <select id="list"> <option>Unicode</option> <option>Hexadecimal</option> <option>Binary</option> </select> <br> <br> <table border="1" width="100" cellpadding="5"> <th>Definition:</th> <th>Pictu </th> <tr><td>two</td> <td>one</td></tr> </table> </body> </html> any help would be greatly appreciated. I have no idea where to post this question. I want to create a calculator for my website, similar in function to an excel spreadsheet although it doesn't have to look like one. Anyone have any idea how I can go about doing this? Ok I am using perl for a form.. I dont need help with the perl. The problem is capturing an unchecked checkbox...and I likely have the same problem with radio buttons. WHen it posts the form I read the enviorment variables. The problem is the checkboxes dont write 'on' or 'off' or whatever. They just return the valuei assigned them..But only if i actually check them. IF they are unchecked they return nothing. How can i change the HTML so that they will always return either 'on' or 'off'?? Right now the html is : <input name="cond_surge" type="checkbox" id="cond_surge" checked="__GETFROMTXTFILE_" value="on" /> So If it is checked it prints cond_surge: on to a texted file and my perl will replaced the checked value with "yes". I want it so that if the box is unchecked it will spit out "off". Thanks for any help. http://www.walterdecantelupe.co.uk/n...c-content.html I have been working on calling external html files into divs on another page and can't seem to get it right!
