HTML - Making Users On Your Website
Hey mates,
i have a website and want to create a page on there where just registered users have access to and can download from the links on that page. Therefore I believe I need to make a "register" thing on my website, where they get a code to their typed in email addy and have to confirm it by typing it in on my page. Hi, im making a site with an arcade. i was wondering how i could make the arcade have a high score board exclusively for the people who go on my site, (instead of the high scores being sent to a larger database of people scoring 999,999 on a game) can anyone help me? I'm programming my first website for a friend who makes comics and in order to make the border around his comics fit I had to mess with the margins. The website looks great on Mozilla and Chrome, and perfect on Safari, but on IE and Opera the border ends up very skinny and goes through the comic, it also makes the page look enormous. Does anyone know how to remedy this? I think it has to do with the border being around the paragraph rather than the image, but I'm not sure. Any help is greatly appreciated. I am trying to make 2 very different websites. first one an auction site. I DONT WANT TO USE EBAY its too expensive i need a cheap auction software that will let multiple users register and be able to upload there own pictures of products they are trying to auction off. second i need to see if there is a program that i can integrate into my website where people login and can make there own website by using templates that are customizable such as colors and pictures and information and letting them be able to upload it themselves. Can anybody help me please. thank you. I know html and the easy stuff what i need is if you know any program like this or a place that will show me step by step how please let me know thank you. Hi All Quick question for some im sure, Im in the process of designing a site for someone, and ideally i want it to fit the hole screen does any one know of the top of there head the CSS for this? reason i ask this because they have said they wont the page to be 960px width and iv said the majority of sites today fill the hole display of a monitor which they then agreed on Any one know? Or am i right in saying i have to just play around with the page properties in the CSS. My issue on one of the pages i have a slideshow box, the css is all done. i have a java script which controls the slideshow but im not to sure where to put it because it says place this script between the <head> </head> on your page, but the page im on hasnt got a <head></head> only the site master has, So my my question is where can i add the script can i place it on the sitemaster and when thats called the script gets called or wont that work due to being on a different page? Can some one please tell me from the below code where to add the Java Script. The page i want to add it to is below. In the past, every time I've made updates to the website, I have to refresh my browser to get the new content. How long does it typically take for browsers to check for new content? Is there a way to put something in the html header so that browsers will do this automatically? I suppose not, but just asking. Thanks, Linda. I hope I'm being clear, but this is what I want to do: There's a news section of my page, and currently I'm working with people who don't know a lick of HTML. Hi - I'd like my customers to be able to submit useful weblinks to our site so that they can be shared and commented on by others. In Firefox, a quick way of doing this is to have them drag the weblink in their Bookmarks and drop it into a textfield within a form. They can then press submit on the form. However, this doesn't work in Internet Explorer - the user is simply redirected to the url in the bookmark. Is there a smarter way of doing this? Anyway. I write little Riddle games, basically puzzles, they are offered for free to players. All of them, up to now, have been serial, you start at level 1, solve it and that opens up level 2, etc. However I am just writing one where all the levels are open, the player can play any level. When they get the correct answer they are taken to a congraulations page. However, they have no method of seeing which levels they have completed without keeping a note of them. So I wondered if I could set up something simple, that is individual to the player, thats non controversial that wouldnt be considered phishing etc where the players can tell which levels they have completed, by using the fact they are the only ones who have visited the various level congrats pages. I can show you an example of what I mean but I dont want to put a link here in case it is considered spamming. I have my own domain, access to the server etc if I need tinstall something, but my server, cookie type knowledge is pretty much non existent. Thank you in advance for any advice you wish to give. My problem is when user entered invalid html code, (not closed tables or divs etc) my layout distorted. I will try to change text editor but the other problem is i have lots of records, so i can't repeair invalid htmls on my database. So how can i isolate user html code from to my html? I'm using Microsoft Expression Web 4 and made a Master page with editable regions so every page is pretty uniform. I want her to be able to update the scoreboard herself, but nothing else.
