HTML - Filezilla Site Html
Hi,
This will sound such a rookie question simply because I've never done this. Ok, I've created a page for a friend entirely within Fireworks. I have sliced the page and exported it in HTML to Dreamwaver. Now I do this a lot with ebay listings, and I simply upload the slices to a free online hosting company, they then give me the image location and I paste that into the slices src and job done, one pretty listing. Now, I'm trying to use Filezilla to upload the slices of the page in question to their host, which I'm doing easy enough. However, Filezilla doesn't let me see the location of the image, so I've no idea what to paste into the src! It has been stressing me to the max the past 24hrs as its all I need to get the site online! Thanks in advance for any help offered. Similar TutorialsOk still super new at this HTML thing, but I am going to be using Filezilla to access my friends index.html file for a little eding of the text. My question is can I open the file, edit what I need and save it all within filezilla? Or do I need to drag the index.html file to my desktop, edit, save and the drag it back to filezilla? I am wondering if it is possible to create an INDEX.HTML to redirect to another website? I would like it to display the redirected site, but if possible keep to the original address.. e.g. A site named www.mysite.com, with an INDEX.HTML to redirect to www.othersite.com, which displays OTHERSITE with www.mysite.com in the address bar. A new free MMO is being launched on June 20, and I have decided to make a nice guild page for the guild me and a friend have made. However, having absolutely no experience whatsoever with coding, I've run into some problems. This is on a 19 inch monitor at 1280x960 resolution. However, I was just surfing the web upstairs here on my laptop and decided to check out my site. The text is not aligned properly as it was shown on my main desktop. I'm completely new to coding so please be very detailed in your responses. Does anybody know what the problem might be? Also, I couldn't figure out how to adjust the height of my table. For example, when text reaches the end of the black box, I want it to cut off and have a scrollbar to be scrollable. How do sites like MLB.com make it so they have their background and on top of that they have a window that shows their actual site. I want to do this to my site but like I said I am relatively new to HTML Okay I'll be very happy of any help I get. So I know something about html- code but not enough. I need to create a site witch has a background image, centered switching page(like example: http://www.oipolloi.com/), and three links: Home, Gallery and Contact. Thanks already. Hi guys. I'm doing a website for a friend. All is going well but I've hit a couple of problems, the first I think is pretty easy to solve but I can't for the life of me remember what to do; I want some of the main images in the site (logo, background etc) to remain in cache so that when the user flicks pages it doesn't need to load them. I tried a CCS style form but placing the background image (a white square basicly) exactly where I want it, isn't easy. Secondly I want to use a preloader on the site, that preloads all the pages first. I have a series of images that I want to load as part of the progess indicator & want some to apper at say 20% another at 30% etc. Once all the background stuff is loaded it would then automaticly move on to the index page. I've had a play in flash & can get the series of images to play but have no idea how to get this to intergrate with the HTML. Thanks in advance. Ross Hi All, I've been working on a portfolio website for a little while now, which is currently built as a hybrid html and flash. I was hoping to code the whole thing in html, but was having some problems with the horizontal scrolling portion of the site. You can see how it looks he jcolt.com There are 2 main things that are holding me back from this being entirely html: I'd like to change the appearance of the scroll bar, so it looks like what i've done in the current flash version. I'm also trying to map the scroll wheel on the mouse to scroll horizontally, across the gallery. Currently it works like this in the flash version, but again, trying to do it in html. I've seen it done successfully on this site: http://www.ptarmak.com/ My question is mainly; how complicated would this be to do? I have a working knowledge of html, but most of this site has been trial and error. Secondly, could anyone point me in the direction of code, or a discussion of how to do this? Thanks in advance.
