I'd like to move the text content that is on the right side, spread across the page and move the form that is on the right side below the content text. Along with this I'd like to leave a column along the right side of the page that is about 1/3 the width of the page, maybe smaller? Would anyone be willing to help me accomplish this? Can anyone tell me how to do this?? Thanks!!! Okay. I have been experimenting and learning pretty well with the help of the experts here. But now I have run into a little problem that I can't figure out. So here I am again seeking expert help. I am using a table. In one of the columns (or cell or whatever its the proper terminology) I have an image (for my navigational map). I would like to be able to move the image up in the column. Right now it (the image map) sets much lower than other pages and I would like to have everything look uniformed. Any suggestions? My friend uses FireFox 3 when it does it, although I do too and I don't see anything happening. Do any of you see it moving too? And if so, any ideas why? Hi, I'm new to this forum and could use some help. I created a website in iweb and I'm having an issue with items moving on the page. The website is VoiceFromHevin.com, not necessarily the welcome page, but the pages after that. So here is the backstory: When I first published my site I had problems with items moving around on the page when you shrank your browser window. The background would stay center while other images and text would move left. I have several pages in a site I am designing, some short and some long On short pages the browser automatically hides the scroll bar and on long pages, displays it. This shifts the contents of the page left and right by the width of the scroll bar and completely distracts from the experience and use of the site. I've found a work around; adding breaks so all pages are long enough to have a scroll bar; but that's not the solution, there are plenty of sites out there that don't have this problem and I'd like to know what the fix is. Basically, I'm new to HTML, I've made a site with an external CSS file, its all good, except that all the elements stay to the left. The browser background is grey, the actual page background is white (its an image, however, not just the colour). The page adjusts when I resize the IE window, but nothing else does, they just stay there. I've tried absolute positioning, relative, and so on, but nothing seems to fix it. How do I get the elements to move? I've attached the CSS and index file (named portfolio) for reference. I apologise in advance for my general noobiness. It's been a good 6 years since i have worked on a website. My biggest accomplishment so far was getting the contact form to work properly on the site. It does, i feel like i've done alot lol. Anyway, the current design is a rough layout (suggestions are welcome). It still needs a lot of little touches to make it look more "full". My biggest concern now is when your clicking from page to page the table jumps around. In firefox, the Contact Us and Services page are perfect, nice and centered. The image i'm using where the navigation buttons are is in place as well. When you go to the other pages though the table moves a bit and it looks like the image i'm using where the navigation buttons are starts to repeat. In Internet Exploder, everything doesn't look centered. There seems to be more space on the right than on the left, but the image i'm using for the navigation buttons seems to be fine, it's not repeating. I dunno what's causing this. I know different browsers display stuff in different ways but i'm far from having a good understanding as to why (that's why i'm here). I even copied txt from one of the messed up pages and pasted it on one of the pages that is ok and that didn't work. I assume it's a CSS thing. Also, try and avoid saying things like "Table designs are for teh n00bz!11!" or "This is why CSS is better than using a table design!!!". This is how i did it. named showenroll.html Right. So far so good. Now we'd like to show the students which are thinking about enrolling howmany other students already have enrolled. In other words, i'd like to count the number of rows in the "showenroll.html" and display that in the index.html. Ive found trough google the var (document.getElementById('ID')). However, i'm not able to add this var to the index.html, and direct it to a element ID on another page. As most newbs would do, i've tried document.getElementById('./showenroll/enrollments') I'm wondering if anyone could tell me how i can direct the document.getElementById to an element id that is not on the same page. I created a layout in Photoshop CS3 and used the slice tool, which generated a table for me based on the slices. The problem is, I need the table to be aligned at the very top of the page without a space, without having to set the table height to 100%. Is there a way this can be done? It looks alright to me, but then when I post it to my blog it has like 50 blank lines and puts it at the bottom of the page. I want it right at the top. I'm not the best at html, especially tables...
