HTML - Position Embedded Object? And Jump/tree Menu?

I have a table with two cells. The top cell has a jump menu created in Dreamweaver and reads as follows:

When I 'change' the jump menu, it takes me to a new page rather than populating the iframe in the target cell. How do I make the change in the jump menu call the URL into the cell below without directing me to a new page?

not sure if i need a js for this but I have a web page using page jump links to navigate a FAQ page.

However, I would rather have a drop down menu/form with the links instead of a list of text links. Anybody have a clue? thanks in advance.

Hello guru's of the WWW realm...

Is it possible to position an object, e.g. <div> by its bottom-right corner as apposed to its top-left?

I've got a web page where i need to align alot of differently sized <div> tags so the right side is 300px in from the page.

I'm aware that i could manually specify the width of each, then deduct the width from the margin and use that for the left position, but i'd have to do that for each div.

but if i can position all the divs by the bottom-right, i can just attach a simple css statement to all divs.

Incase my babble didn't make any sense, which this wouldn't be the first, I've drawn an equally nonsensical picture.

My jump menu/form has the attribute of target="_blank" but it doesn't seem to work. I'm a first time newb so i don't understand why. I have created a link and use the att _blank and it works fine. Any help would be super cool. Thanks.

On my website under computer applications - utilities and drivers. I used an on page menu because of the page size. It is internal java script, or listed on the page. It functions but does not go where directed. I want the heading of the menu item at the top of the page. I followed the directions for the anchor but it doesn't always position correctly. The same occurs with CSS. How can I get it to position correctly because I will want to add more categories and more content and need it to position correctly with changes.
Menu
Utilities --- positions correctly
Drivers --- positions in utilities
Diagnostics --- positions with heading at bottom of page
Registry cleaners --- positions in middle of diagnostics
Registry tutorials --- positions in middle of Registry cleaners
Computer help --- positions in middle of Registry tutorials

I was wondering if someone could help me... I made a drop down menu using fireworks for the site http://www.lakehillsca.org/ and the menu works perfectly in IE. But when viewing the site in firefox, the menu positioning isn't right. The menu uses javascript, but I'm pretty sure it isn't a javascript issue. Is there anyone out there that can figure this out??? Thanks for your time.

Howdy all,

I have three scrolling divs that i want to be the height of the page, so i'm guessing position:absolute and height:100% will do that just fine.
But i want these three scolling divs to be inside a position:fixed element so that they stay put when scrolling down the page.
Is this possible? I dont think a pos:absolute will work nested inside a pos:fixed.
How could i work around it? thanks!

On one of my webpages, I want to link to a specific page in a PDF file. I can't get it to work in Firefox for some reason, and I haven't found the answer online.

I used this in Internet Explorer, and it worked just fine:

I'm trying to create a horizontal-scrolling website.
I set it up in two frames: the top frame is the navigation, and the bottom frame is the main frame where all of the content is.
The content is formed in iframes/div layers.
I want, however, the links in the top frame to scroll to the content in the main frame.

Help?

Hello All,

I am new to this forum and this seems like a great place for information.

I am having a problem with this page that I am working on for a client. The page consists of an iframe below a embedded viddler movie. The problem is that when the page loads, it jumps to the beginning of the iframe. On some browsers it jumps back to the top after it is finished loading, but in the dreaded IE it stays at the page jump. I don't have any code in the page that can be mistaken for a standard page jump. (at least I don't think that I do) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey all. Can anyone help?

I want to make a feature of my site that if you follow a broken link or navigate to a page that doesnt exist, you will get one of 3 different 404 pages.

My hosting allows for one catch - all error page, but I was wondering if theres a function in html that redirects immediately to aother page.

If you click on "GLOBE Board of Directors" on the left hand menu, it won't jump to the section #board on the index.htm page.

Why is that?

I already placed the <a name="board"></a> tag on the other page.

ok when I click from any of the other pages to the menu page, the name and address (which is on every page in the same place) moves to the left slightly.

the name and address stay in the same place when clicking to and from any of the other pages, its just the menu page with this hiccup.

This happens both in IE and Firefox.

Any ideas on how to correct this??

Hi,

I'm doing a small project for my school.
And I have a problem.

I'm using a page with two iframes. One has photo's the other has text.
What I'm trying to do is jump from one frame to another part in the Other frame, and back.

I've tested it sofar in Chorme and it all works.
But it doesn't in Firefox and IE...

Firefox opens it in a new tab, IE in a new window.

Is there someway to let them jump the the specified frame???
