HTML - Javascript: Drag N Drop Need Serious Help!!!!

I have a jpeg (1600 x 1600) and a "view port" on my html page that measures 400x400. Can I put the entire jpeg "behind: the viewport somehow and enable the user to drag it around so as to be able to see the whole thing (like on Google Maps)?

If there is an example somewhere of how to do this, could you point me to it?

The 'Drag AP Element' behavior allows one to click a floating div and move it around. There is also a setting that is supposed to bring the layer to the front when it is dragged and then it can be set to leave it on top or put it back (restore z-index) While this behavior works perfect in IE, it has a few quirks in Firefox. While the drag part works fine, Firefox will not bring the layer to the front - unless, as I just discovered, all the layers have the same z-index - which, in my current case, is a acceptable workaround. Drag AP still doesn't function at all in safari but thats a 'whole nother' thread

Firstly I'm very new to using HTML and "programming" general, so I'm sorry if I come across as dumb

New to the forum also and signed up as I couldn't fine help elsewhere on this problem.

I'm attempting to write a simple HTML form that will eventually print to a .txt file.

The basics of it is

d: <input type="text" name="hnmr_shift1" />

H's: <input type="text" name="h_s1" />

Multiplicity: <input type="text" name="multiplicity1" />

J coupling:<input type="text" name="j_coupling1" /> <br />


which is repeated and repeated over and over (about 25 times)

I was wondering if there's a to have the user select how many of these they would like (in a drop down box or something along those lines) and it will pop up with x amount of rows of the above boxes.

i.e if the user selects 3 you would see something like

d : (box) H's : (box) Multiplicity : (box) J coupling : (box)
d : (box) H's : (box) Multiplicity : (box) J coupling : (box)
d : (box) H's : (box) Multiplicity : (box) J coupling : (box)

I've seen similar things on forms were it asks you something like "how many people...." and when you select a number it will pop up with separate boxes for each persons name and details (first name, second name phone number etc.).

was thinking of using javascript or something along those lines

ps. I want to avoid php as this form will be running on school computers and I cbf setting up a server etc. for it to run. the idea of the form is that it can be booted easily from a USBDrive without any problems or permission issues.

I want a drop down with about 10 items. The 10th being "other", if people select "other" a text box appears and people can then write in what "other" means.

Any suggestions on the best code for this?

I have two pages both have drop down. On the 1st page the user selects an option on the drop down, after the user choose an option it will go to the next page and I want the option showing on drop down on the 2nd page to be the option the user choose on the 1st page

example:
1st page option:blue,orange,red so when I pick orange on the 2nd page the drop down will have initial value of orange

When you first launch Livestream's websites (http://www.livestream.com/), a drop down slides down from the top of the window which you can then close. Is this some sort of dynamic HTML?

Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial on this??

I am trying to make a form that submits info to Paypal. This is a drop box form that selects one of two things. Depending on the item selected, I want paypal to charge a different amount.

Here is code that I thought should work, but apparently I don't know the ins and outs of drop boxes. Could I get some help?

Right...I'm in the process of creating a sample website, which takes in date data and number data...and I was wondering...as I have the option of using drop downs or textboxes....if the site does go onto a server...would it be easier (as the developer) to use drop downs or text inboxes..?

I mean..when it comes to the user choosing things using the drop down or inputting into the textbox..and sending it to search in a database...which would be easier to play around with..and less complicated..?

I would like to create a drop down box that contains number 1-50.

I know I can do this using the following

<option value="1">1</option>
<option value="2">2</option>

Can someone tell me a method for doing his a better way rather than having 50 option values?

p.s is the speaking advert at the bottom of this forum the most annoying thing ever. Does nothing for me as a new site visitors other than make me want to leave. I have turned the sound off now but its real pants.

Good day guys... is there anyone who can share about drop down menu's

There are a few thing I need help with:

1) If I don't put a "select" url, if go is clicked on I get a server error. I just want it to do nothing. e.g. with the header.

2) If I put a style for a "select" that has no url, then the list reverts to a square more box-like shape.

3) I want to make the go button open the urls in a new window.

4) I don't know what the js code at the end does because it still works without it (found the code in a tutorial) :

I've got the page at http://joomla.ridgway.k12.co.us looking pretty good but for some reason the sub level navigation for About Us and Secondary disappear before I can get to a link. I believe this is a focus problem, but in my efforts I can't fix it. Can someone point me in the direction where I could fix this?

A client has asked me to create a drop-down list that will jump to bookmarks WITHIN THE PAGE - does anyone know how to do this?

All that I can find online are tutorials with scripts for re-directing to other pages, but this does not need to be that dynamic.

My guess is that this will require something along the lines of:

Code:

<option value="#services">Services</option>
<option value="#products">Products</option>
</select>

Where each option points to a link within the page. This being the case, there should not need to be a submit button either - anyone know how to achieve this?
