HTML - Advanced Html Form To Return Results
I am trying to create a form where I can check boxes of skills to return results of how many "departments" i have checked have those skills.
It would look something like this: Check box - Description of skill1 Check box - Description of skill2 Check box - Description of skill3 SUBMIT BUTTON Department | Skill1 | Skill 2 | Skill 3 | Total -------------------------------------------------- ABC________1_______1______0____2 XYZ ________1_______1______0____2 So I need a code where I can check the boxes that apply, hit the submit button and have a value box display in each department instance if there was a match of not (1 = match 0 = no) So if i checked box skill 1 and skill 2 there would return a 1 under skill 1 and 2 for each department and show the tally of that under the total. Can someone help? thanks! Similar TutorialsI've got a form setup where it takes the user to a new page when they submit their information. If they didn't enter a valid email address it tells them to go back and fix it. When returning to the page though all of the input fields are reset to blank. I found this script that fixes it. But I could have sworn that it was possible to remedy this without javascript. Am I wrong? I took an HTML class which covered the basics and some CSS and Javascript. I got a few questions about some problems I'm having with a website of mine. Site: www.lugify.com 1) I'm using: #main { position: absolute; } to Position my logo at the top, and the other box with the comment area in it. Now when I view this on different browsers and computers it comes out distorted. What my best bet of positioning to simple areas like my website would contain. (the logo and the blue rectangle below it). 2) We never covered sending form information to a .ASP page? I think its something like that. I want to be able to get the form information that people enter into the form, sent to another page that can be viewed by anyone who goes to it. (Kinda like a blog format, so each form posts is printed neatly by time). But I want them to be redirected to a page that simply says "Thanks for ordering blah blah". This way my employee can go to the other page and view the orders. Thanks for any help received! Anthony Hi, its been many years since i've done any website / html work but a friend of mine asked me to help him add a form to his marriage website that basically works as a RSVP option. he wants people to be able to add their name and click if they are going to be attending or not...click submit and have it send it to his e-mail. Making the form was easy (and i won't bore u with the code), the only problem i'm having with is how to make the submit button send an e-mail. I did some looking and it seems like its going to require the user to have sending e-mails enabled thru their browser? does anyone know of an easy way to do this (preferably one that doesn't require the user to have any sort of brain) ? Simple is better and all i need is a quick fix thx for any help bigunn So, I have made a form as a pre-LAN-event thing.. The problem is that I have never really used forms before and am not really that familiar with more advanced HTML besides simple layout stuff.. So my question is, how do I take the information from this form: HTML Code: <form name="input" action="Result.asp" method="get"> <font size="2" face="arial">Gender:<select name="gender"> <option value="male">Male</option> <option value="female">Female</option> </select> <br> Age:<select name="age"> <option value="12">0-12</option> <option value="13">13</option> <option value="14">14</option> <option value="15">15</option> <option value="16">16</option> <option value="17">17</option> <option value="18">18</option> <option value="19">19</option> <option value="20">20</option> <option value="21">21</option> <option value="22">22</option> <option value="23">23</option> <option value="24">24</option> <option value="25">25+</option> </select><br><br /> <b><u>What games do you want to see tournament in?</u></b><br /> <input type="checkbox" name="Game" value="CS16" /> Counter Strike 1.6<br /> <input type="checkbox" name="Game" value="CSS" /> Counter Strike Source<br /> <input type="checkbox" name="Game" value="LoL" /> League of Legends<br /> <input type="checkbox" name="Game" value="LoLD" /> League of Legends Dominion<br /> <input type="checkbox" name="Game" value="TF2" /> Team Fortress 2<br /> <input type="checkbox" name="Game" value="TF2" /> Left 4 Dead 2 Versus<br /> <input type="checkbox" name="Game" value="MC" /> Minecraft PvP<br /> <input type="checkbox" name="Game" value="BC" /> Bloodline Champions<br /> <input type="checkbox" name="Game" value="RoA" /> Rock of Ages<br /> Other: <input type="text" name="otherGame" /> (ex. 1, ex. 2, osv.) </font><br /> <input type="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> and submit it to another page so I can go on there and see how many males, females and people of different ages that have signed up, and what games they wanted. Sorry if it is a noobish question.. Thx in advance. - Ward, out! Hi folks! I'm learning HTML so that I can eventually design my own website. While I'm creating code, is there software out there, or some way to view the results of my HTML without having to upload it to my host first? Thanks! Hello, I have a form which links to Results.htm Basically I want the title of that page which opens in a new window to be whatever was input in the form previously. Hope you all can help me, it's been bothering me for quite some time. Thanks, Jooey Hello everyone, I am creating a HTML form which is driven by PHP. This is working fine, but when I get results in email box they appear like this. Name : james Email : Telephone : dhfjdfjdhf Collection_address : fhdjfhdjhjh Number_of_bedrooms_current_location: : jhhjhjh Delivery_address : hjhhj Number_of_bedrooms_new_location : hjhhj Items_that_need_moving : hjhhj Pack_items : No Store_any_items? : NO Provide_details : hjhhjhj Submit_email : Submit Is there any way of making form results look more attractive to the reader of the email form? If so where is the code applied for the doing this? Will it be on contact form itself? Thanks Hello all, I searched the board for an answer and didn't have any luck. This makes me wonder if what I want to do is possible. I have a webpage that uses divs to section the page into four sections (top, bottom, content, and navigation). On the navigation side is where users select a set of form options and based on those options details should display in the content section. Frames is not an option as we're trying to get away from frames and I need to make subsequent pages for other things without the frames. Thanks in advance for you helpm ~ML Hi, I have a jsp page, in which i have a search button. When i click on the search button, it should display the results in a table format in the same jsp page. I am unable to find a solutuion for this. If Anybody knows, please help me. Thanks in Advance Regards Venu Hi Folks, Is there a way to target the results of a form on one of my pages to a frame in a frameset. I have a form which produces a search on a site I pay to use. I want the results of this search to be in the bottom of a two row frameset. The top row of the framset will have links back to. The form itself is on my main page and is NOT a part of a frameset. Hope i have been clear. I'm assuming I may have to use javascript or php but not sure. All the best, Libman Hey everyone, I am attaching a picture of something happening to a friends website. Is there any way to fix this? FYI: seems to show fine in yahoo, bing, or any other search engine results page. Thanks Hope someone can help me. I've got a html page set up so that my clients can type in their name, choose several options via radio buttons, an option to clear the form, then submit the form. What I'm having trouble with is how to obtain the information from the form. I think I would prefer this to be retrieved via email. Is there a way I can: 1. Have the subject of the email be the name of the client (whatever they type in) 2. The results of the form sent to my email (let's say it's myemail@university.edu) Thanks in advance! For example I want to build a simple method to show routes of an office building. Pulldown box 1 would be the office number you want to start from, and pulldown box two would be the office you want to get to. when you click submit it would pull up either a page or picture which contains the corrrect floor plan and route. I feel like this should not be too hard as I don't need anything very flashy. I just don't know how to start it. If anyone knows of something open source already created to do this I would be open to that too. Thanks in advance for any assistence you can give. Hi. I am creating web service. But the problem must be somewhere on HTML page. When I submit form, the data send by web service (java program) to the page does not show up. If I do not submit form, then the program works; results appear on the page. The form is submitted invoking pushSubmit() javascript function. This method is invoked from setMessage() javascript function. I submit form cause in this way I discover what value is selected on drop down list. This is done using JSP code. Can I do it somehow else. Next action using retrieved data is to invoke Java class on server side. What might be the problem? However, no matter how hard i try I cannot get it to work! The closest i have got is to have both the texts in but it forces it to go on a line above. I won't post the url to the site unless someone asks, as I will probably be banned for spamming, but please help! Okay, so im working on a new website for my clan, and I had the crazy idea of doing it in a frameset fashion, however I've never done anything like this before. Any help, would be greatly appreciated. If this is unsuccessful or impossible that is okay. frame 1 is the navbar frame 2 is page's context frame 3 is ads for clan frame 4 is copyright Thanks! OK what i want is to have for example 2 fields. one is a check box (or maybe a radio) and another is a file input. Now is there any way to block input to the File field if the check box isn't ticked and when the check box is ticked the file field becomes available? Any help would be apreciated. Regards Umm.. Hello.. this is my first post.. but umm... i have been doing html for a year or two now.. and i got somewhat good at it.. however i have ran into a problem, im doing a project for my family and im using frames, to dividide my entire webpage, and im using "context menu script" from dhtml, link he http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...ontextmenu.htm the menu just pretty much allows it so that when i right click anywhere on my page a custom menu will appear with links.. now... what i am trying to do is pretty much open the link in a frame that i choose, so instead of opening a new window it would open in my frame, im using my frame MAIN as an example... heres the snippet of coding that i am having problems with: <div id="ie5menu" class="skin0" onMouseover="highlightie5(event)" onMouseout="lowlightie5(event)" onClick="jumptoie5(event)" display:none> <div class="menuitems" href="http://www.google.com">google</div> <div class="menuitems" url="http://dynamicdrive.com/new.htm" target="newwin">What's New?</div> <div class="menuitems" url="http://dynamicdrive.com/hot.htm">What's Hot?</div> <div class="menuitems" url="http://wsabstract.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi">Message Forum</div> <div class="menuitems" url="http://dynamicdrive.com/faqs.htm">FAQs</div> <div class="menuitems" url="http://dynamicdrive.com/submitscript.htm">Submit</div> <hr> <div class="menuitems" url="mailto:dynamicdrive@yahoo.com">Email Us</div> </div> i change the <div class="menuitems url="http://www.google.com">google</div>(which works by the way) to <div class="menuitems url="http://www.google.com" target="main">google</div> (main is a legit name of one of my frames) however that doesnt seem to work the window still launches in a new window. i have even tried to delete the whole <div> </div> and replace it all with <a href="http://www.google.com" target="main">gogle</a> but that breaks the menu altogether and not only does the link not launch in my frame, but it doesnt launch alltogether.. i dont know what to do.. can anyone help me? I mean... I tried pretty much everything.. maybe the target="" is different in the DIV or maybe someone can even show me yet another way to modify that whole entire snippet and give me an alternative way to launch those links in a frame. thank you in advance, please help me out! First it is a pleasure to be participating in this forum, I appreciate this opportunity. Well, I am developing a website with dynamic content, effects and everything. Except that I have a problem. In one of the pages, I put a Photo Gallery. I used one called FancyBox. When navigating through the pages of the site, the effects and content exchanges happen with no problem, but when you go to the page of photos, open an photo and closes, after that, if you change the page will appear in the sidebar and a giant margin below of pages, except the page of photo gallery. you can check the link: http://www.grupoathia.com.br/qwe/ Steps to verify the problem: 1: Open the site 2: Click the tabs to navigate between content models 3: Click on the "Trabalhe Conosco" to check template Gallery 4: Open and close a photo. 5: Go to any other tab. Note that before you open a photo, all were normal, and now, after viewing a photo, they are left with a margin below. Does anyone know what might be happening? I already tried alter the CSS and JS, but not get a result, I am willing to try any possible solution that you recommend. : D Thank you for help right now. Warm regards. ... and sorry for bad english. =P I am in charge of an internal training website at work and I want to know if I have any options with my forms. The quiz has been created in a form and it is currently setup when you hit submit your responses are mailed to your supervisor. In order to this the same quiz has to be duplicated 15 times for each supervisor. This also has to be done for each quiz, which of which there are about 20. I want to know if there is a way to create a form an option to chose from various different recipients. Therefore I will only have to create one quiz and they will have an option to chose from the 15 supervisors listed. I know mailto: is not recommended but up to now it has worked fine. All users will be on Internet explorer 6. Any ideas? |
