HTML - Looks Good In Opera And Firefox, But Wrong In Ie
Hello, everybody!
I have a problem. This page: http://friends21.com/index.php/publi.../name_joecool/ displays properly in Opera and Firefox, but wrong in IE. I mean in IE for some reason header and footer are aligned left, while in Opera and Firefox it stays centered as it must be. On this site users are allowed to use html code for their profiles (like for example myspace templates). So this user inserted some code that moves headers to the left. (compare with other users: http://friends21.com/index.php/publi...name_drewness/ http://friends21.com/index.php/publi...administrator/) But I couldn't find what exactly in that code moves header/footer to the left and why it does so only in IE but not in Opera and Firefox. Anybody knows? Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you all in advance. Similar TutorialsCould anyone please help me? I created a login form. And when it is alone on a web page it displays properly in all browsers: IE , Opera and Firefox: http://www.gpftt.com/a/html/ But when I insert it into a html template it remains good in IE but becomes wrong in Opera and Firefox: http://www.gpftt.com/a/html/ind.html I have tried everything I could - html and css editing. I removed all styles from the web page but it still remains wrong. I spent a whole day over it and still couldn't get it working. Can anybody tell me wtf??? The bottom section of this page looks good in IE but not in Firefox... anyone know why? Here's a screenshot of the Firefox page: http://www.massagelaunch.com/firefoxtableproblem.jpg and you can see the IE version he www.massagelaunch.com (scroll all the way to bottom) Hi everybody, I am building a new website, and I have a browser compatibility issue. I'm using a table - and I'm looking to have a border, thin blue bar, text, thin blue bar, then border. My HTML displays fine in Firefox, but it looks like junk in IE (fat lines MUCH larger than 5 pixels!). Can you help me by telling me why? Thanks Jason ----------------------------------------------------- <table> <tr height=5px> <td> </td> <td style="background-color: blue;"> </td> <td>My Text</td> <td style="background-color: blue;"> </td> <td> </td> </tr> </table> Hi everybody, For some reason, my site sucks in IE but it's good in FireFox. When I view it in IE, the tables are all out of wack, and it doesn't look right, but it looks fine in firefox. The site is http://74.53.110.194/~redstar5/ thanks for your help, treadstar There's something wrong with the tables on the site I'm currently working on.. There's no errors of any kind, but they're acting kind of odd.. I tried to make the code as clean as possible, but since this is a dynamic page, that isn't always easy. In Firefox i get a gap from time to time in the cell background of the page. But if i try to update it gets fixed. In Opera it stays like this all the time Here's a link to the page http://svolvar-jff.net/new/index.php?side=aktiviteter&id=12 I just started working on creating a website but am having trouble with the navigation on the left hand side. Here is the site: http://www.infinetwebsolutions.com/ The problem is when you go to the "Contact" page and the "About Us" pages the navigation buttons on the left hand side get moved around and don't stay put. I know the reason that it is getting moved around on those two pages alone are because the text is much longer on those two pages (in the right hand table). That text is in a separate table though, so I don't know why it has any impact to the table structure on the left. I don't know if I'm providing enough info here to get any help, so please let me know if I need to give more. Thanks in advance! Here is some of the code if this helps: Code: <tr> <th height="55" valign="middle" scope="row"><a href="contact.htm" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()" onmouseover="MM_swapImage('Image13','','Images/nav_bar/contact_selected.jpg',1)"><img src="Images/nav_bar/contact.jpg" name="Image13" width="137" height="41" border="0" id="Image13" /></a></th> <th width="24" valign="middle" scope="row"> </th> </tr> <tr> <th height="53" valign="middle" scope="row"><a href="about.htm" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()" onmouseover="MM_swapImage('Image14','','Images/nav_bar/about_us_selected.jpg',1)"><img src="Images/nav_bar/about_us.jpg" name="Image14" width="137" height="41" border="0" id="Image14" /></a></th> <th width="24" valign="middle" scope="row"> </th> </tr> <tr> <th height="53" valign="middle" scope="row"><a href="clients.htm" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()" onmouseover="MM_swapImage('Image16','','Images/nav_bar/clients_selected.jpg',1)"><img src="Images/nav_bar/clients.jpg" name="Image16" width="137" height="41" border="0" id="Image16" /></a></th> <th width="24" valign="middle" scope="row"> </th> </tr> Howdy everyone! I'm a noob here and I'm at my wits end. The real problem here is that I know just enough to get myself into trouble, but no concept on how to dig myself out of it. The website I'm working on is he http://www.psychological-warfare.com My problem is that it looks OK in Explorer, but looks like a trainwreck in Firefox. It was designed by retrofitting a template I bought years ago, so it's like trying to decipher the amatuer translation of a Russian mad scientist's codex. I apologize in advance. I've been moving DIV's back and forth for days and Explorer doesn't seem to care. Things just keep getting worse and worse in Firefox. I think the main issue is that I have a left column and then the header that spans the middle and right columns. I can see how Firefox might hate that... The next problem (and I'm hoping someone might have an idea on this): I used a modern header calling this whole mess XHTML. I know exactly squat about the differences between HTML and XHTML except that XHTML loves to have everything "/>"ed. Would all of this work if the header called it transitional HTML and give myself a little leeway? What code should be at the top of my page? Thanks everyone for the help. I wish I could buy everyone a beer! My website is: www.gstteam.co.nr My main problem is the Rosters. If I open the Rosters in IE7 it looks good but when I open it on Firefox it looks terrible, the images are all over the place and cant even see some of the text that I have under the images. I am using PageBreeze (Free Version). Can somebody please help me how I can fix the problem, I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks Code: <object height="50%" width="50%" classid="clsid:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95"> <param name="AutoStart" value="1" /> <param name="FileName" value="http://localhost:8000" /> </object> i am streaming music and i want to put it into a website. but i have no clue how to make it work with opera or firefox. the above code works perfectly with IE. so is there a special trick that i need to do? So we have this old website that we're updating and in our updates we've found that the text will now run over the margins (into our pretty white space). We don't want it to pass the blue tab that says "Contact". Any ideas? http://www.carlsonbldgservices.com Also how can I remove the underline in "Click to Enter"? hey guys, i am working for a few hours on my website project (design part), but still don't get it work correctly. This is what it should look like: http://www.jarisch.net/faz/img/4_5.png And this is the current version: http://www.jarisch.net/faz how can i prevent firefox and opera from making spaces between some images as well as from making spaces between the outer images and the borders (top and bottom)? thanks a lot.. amoun Ok, so i worked very hard for about 4 hours to make my page valid (click). Now, i worked out everything to work in firefox and safari and then installed opera and it looks fine in that, as well as in mobile safari (for iPod Touch). But, believe it or not, when i try it in IE, everything is completely messed up. I am extremely tired of me having to go the extra mile because the idiots behind IE dont know how to make a fricken browser. Anyways, with the rant out of the way, can anyone help me fix this up? any tips or ideas on what is causing this? http://Flysinger.com thanks, -ajp Hello all, Was wondering if you could help me please. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this? First thing, the banners at the top are disjointed on the homepage only. Secondly, the Home link doesn't work on other pages. Finally, the margin on the right hand side does not exist. However the second header does not do this, but instead, pushes my 2 columns apart and splits the header in 2. Thanks for looking. I don't know how to even debug this because it works in firefox but not IE. I display a table and use PHP script to populate the table. In explorer, the "fellow" value gets SKIPPED and then the next value ("rcf_date") gets put into that td, so everything gets screwed up! Looking at the code I can't figure out what it is about it that explorer doesn't like. Why on earth would it skip the fellow field? Here;s the php code that displays the table: Here's a link to a screenshot of the table in IE: http://bp1.blogger.com/_cy0zia_bU_s/...screenshot.png Here is the code to display that table. Any help would be appreciated: Code: <?php require('secure.php'); include "dateheader.php"; include "connectdb.php"; ?> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Active consult patient list</title> <link href="stylesheets/simple.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"> </head> <?php $query = "SELECT id_incr, patient_name, mrn, location, fellow, rcf_date, admission, consult_reason, impression, recs, comments ". I frequently add or change content in a table in this page. http://www.leavemeb.com/index.php Today, I added new stuff, pics, etc and used percentages in the tables to space things out well and so that when someone expands or condenses the browser window, the content adjusts accordingly. Now, in IE it shows up perfectly, yet in firefox on my mac it is very spaced out and can't even fit the whole page across without me having to scroll to the right to see the right collumn. Can anyone help me see what is not working here? I would be very grateful. I can't seem to see it. Nichole I've made a lot of progress on my website: Bands 4 Babes but I'm still struggling with getting everything to look the same on all the different browsers. Basically what I'm finding is: Chrome and Safari (PC) - Displays exactly as I want it to Firefox 3.5.2 (PC) - Displays properly except for the Home link in the purple bar is a few PX too far left and the --- above home is a line too high Firefox and Safari on Mac - FF exhibit the same problem as above, but most fonts (sizes and faces) are off on the mac versions. This also throws off alignments of other stuff. IE8 - Two solid lines on top and bottom of page are a few pixels too low which ruins the continuity of the box frame I created. If somebody could take a look at my code and give me some thoughts on what the problem is I would really appreciate it. Thanks. |
