HTML - Dotted Line Around Links ??!?!?!?!
Hey. Does anyone know why sometimes, after clicking on a link on my site, a dotted line appears around the link??? It doesnt matter if its a jpg, text or image map link.
It doesnt always do it, but sometimes it does and looks ****ty.... thx Similar TutorialsHi Guys, If you use this page in firefox you get an active link, dotted border on the up/down arrows. Anyone know of a way to stop this happening with styles? Code: http://www.stompfrog.co.uk/rp/ I guess you could use a js function to take the focus off the link but would prefer a css solution if possible. Stomp I'm trying to come up with a way to mimic a "tab fill" in html: Like this only the page numbers would be justified to the same line, and the . .. is "auto generated" to fill the empty space: 1. The First Line ................................... 25 2. Below The First ................................. 32 3. After That .......................................... 47 The "titles" would be in column 'a', and the numbers would be in column 'b' The space after the "titles" would be filled with ... I have come close using 'bottom border' but that puts the ... under the text as well. I tried using span and div, but that will either putt the ... on a new line below the text, or if i use 'display:inline;' it puts it on the same, but it no longer fills the empty space to the edge, and only displays the ... when there is text inside. I tried stretching it out with a clear image but it didn't work either. Also tried using a 'highlight' (background color) on the text to cover the bottom border but that didn't really work. (the closest i got was using this method with a background image of a dot. but that wasn't much better...) Any thoughts? Thanks. Perhaps it's just me, but I recently noticed this and I'm curious as to how it works. I don't even know if this is the right forum for this though. Take a look at these two pictures and websites. http://www.slidedeck.com/examples/reddal http://www.friendgiftr.com/ If you notice in the picture and the actual website, the first example does not show a tiny dotted border around the link that you click. But on the second site, clicking on a link will have that link surrounded by the thin dotted border. At least that's how it is for me on the latest version of Firefox and Internet Explorer. Is this something browser based? Or what? Why the inconsistency? Dear HTML senseis, I'm trying to make a "Previous | Next" link in the bottom center of the page, but what I get from this script is "Previous" in the bottom center, and "Next" below it instead of next to it. Here's what I'm using:
Previous
<p align="center" |

Next Hi, as you can tell by the title, I'm having trouble placing 2 image links next to each other on Myspace. If i can post the links and someone can help me, I'd be very grateful. (I'm not trying to promote my band or anything here, no one has to listen) I am wanting this Facebook image: http://s86.photobucket.com/albums/k1...logo_black.jpg linked to our facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Teenag...19513834790706 And this Twitter logo http://s86.photobucket.com/albums/k1...0_allblack.png linked to our Twitter page: http://twitter.com/#!/teenagemaryuk I have already managed to get the Twitter link on our Myspace (www.myspace.com/teenagemary) but I'm pulling my hair out trying to get them next to each other, I've even tried tables to no avail. Any help would be extremely appreciated! Hey, i have been using a javascript file to display images when you roll over a thumbnail and this works fine but for some reason a tiny blue line keeps showing after all of my thumbnail images. Heres the code for the thumbnail. If you need more please say. Thanks Code: Hi, I had a previous post but have changed teh way teh links are styled so thought it need a new subjest to solve a different problem. The links in teh bottom left column appear nicely in IE but have double line spacing in FF Here is the link www.creativecogs.com/new Here is the CSS style for the links in questions Code: .links { font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:10px; font-weight:bold; text-decoration:underline; color:#6ba033; } and the HTML Code:
Web Design Somerset
Web Design Dorset
Web Design Devon
Web Design Yeovil
Web Design Taunton
Web Design Bath
Web Design Bridgewater
Any ideas how to stop the double line spacing in FF? I have tried using ul and li tags but i come accross other problems posted in this thread http://www.htmlforums.com/html-xhtml...tml#post596995 A soultion to either one would be appreciated. CC_DESIGN I'm trying to position text, links and pictures to follow one after the other, but it doesn't work. I want to see "Homepage" on the left corner of my webpage "Next" on the right corner of my webpage Unfortunately this command doesn't work properly.
Home
Next

It makes the "Next" go down a line, instead of being in the same line of the "Homepage". Also, on that vein, is there any way I can align images and text on the same line without using spaces*? As in:
Hello

Hello

Hello
But they all should stay on the same line. Any guides, or even links to tutorial about my issue would be appreciated. I've been trying to google for a while, it's becoming frustrating. *I think the problem with spaces is that people with different resolution would see the text in different places than I want them to see. I made some slices in photoshop to manage the links from Front Page but the links look like this.Check the photo... any one knows what shall i do ? Hi, I'm trying to find a way to fill the empty space between a description and its relative letter for example: blablablalbalbalblablabla (***carry over to the second line because out of space) blabla----(white space)----a. (** the letter) the description is done by cold fusion query and the structure is in a table with the vertical align = bottom to ensure the letter match the last line of the description. now I need to make change to this so that the whitespace between the last line do the description and the letter is filled with dots like this: blablablalbalbalblablabla (***No dots on the line above the last line) blabla ............................ a. I've tried number of methos but none of them sync well with my situation, Any suggestion on how to do this will be greatly appreciated, Thanks in Advance!! I have had this problem on almost all the websites I've made and I'm too picky to let it go... When I make the navigation images/buttons for a website, I set the border to zero as usual and link each image to its respective page. But, when I click on the image to take me where it's supposed to, this pesky dotted border appears around the edge of the image after it has been clicked and it remains there until I click on something else on that page. (This also happens to text links when clicked, but I'm not too worried about the text links.) For the websites I've made that go to an entirely new page after an image link is clicked, the dotted line appears around the linked image after it's clicked and before the next page has loaded, but then after the new page loads the dotted line is gone. But, for websites I have built that utilize frames, because the new page that loads is in an iframe, and because the page the navigation buttons are located on never changes, the dotted border stays around the image after its been clicked and, like I mentioned earlier, doesn't go away until I click on something else on that same page. An example of this can be seen when you click the images in the navigation column along the left side of a website I built located at the following URL: http://www.djprogress1.com/ This border problem could be specific to my website browser (I use Firefox), but I am not sure. And the border could be added entirely by the browser and there may be no way to get rid of it through coding, but again, I am not sure of this. So, does anyone know if anything can be done to fix this or am I stuck with these dotted borders? Thanks, Jase Hi everyone, I hope I have posted this in the right area. This is my first time posting here. I currently have my main pages listed at the top of my site as graphics (see fussybaby.ca). I would like to potentially remove these graphics and use text links instead - I had the graphics designed for me, so I can't just go in and make new ones, however I'd like to change/rearrange the links and add some new ones. So my question is: How hard is this to do? Is this something I need to hire someone to do for me? Thanks in advance for any advice! I have this div: Code:
Last Name
The way it's being displayed is having the last name string first and then the input and submit (both of them) under that last name string. I would like for all of these values to be on the same line. How can I do that?
doesn't work, tried it. Anything I can do in CSS? Hey i am having trouble with putting a horizontal line in. I got the line in but it doesn't go all the way across the page. It stops a bit before then end can someone please help? hi some help please i want to have 2 styles on one line, first text should be bold second text should be normal the following is from my template file:
BOLD TEXT normal text
this stays in the same line but both are bold, i have tried adding a class="normaltextstyle" but the color changes but it still stays bold please assist, how can i add onto an html file using php? for example. if i was making a forum chat or something similar, how would i add onto the char using a form, a PHP file, and the main html file that stores the conversation? the thing with this html file is this... Code:
<other stuff>
PHP file will add text here! <-------------------

how do i make the php file add stuff in the middle of the html file? I'm a complete newbie I have been told to edit a script in html editor on line No. 235. I put the script into an editor and it fills the page as one big paragraph and not in a line format. Is this a common thing Can it be changed? Neil Hello can anybody help my with html about a vertical line with wat codeyo can make a vertical line for your website in html. Erwin Hi: I've got a narrow but high button. Question: What do I place in the Value="???" option to ensure that I get two lines in a button For Example, I wish to put the following in the value of the button: Edit /Del Of course, I tried ' Value="Edit
/Del" ' --- but that didn't work, I also tried : 'Value="Edit\n/Del"' - also , no joy ( Thanks, -Mel Smith Can anyone tell my why an extra line is appearing on this site in IE but not Firefox? And what's causing it, how to get rid of it? http://www.jnsitedesign.com/zenphoto/weddings/ It's the line above the menu. Also why is the menu centering in IE and how do I get it to align to the right? ***nevermind, I figured out the menu. But the line is driving me insane and I can't figure out what's causing it Thanks for any pointers! |
