HTML - Updating Website From Plain Text
I'm creating a website. I would like the end user to be able to easily update all the text parts without having to know any HTML. How should I go about doing this?
The way I've set it up at the moment is to use an include file with ASP so the text is kept seperate. The problem with this is that the end user still has to enter the text with some HTML formatting (I have written a program with VBA in MS Word to convert text to HTML but I'm not sure that's the best way). Any ideas on how I could make this better? Or if a completely different way would be better how should I go about doing it? What happens is I want to copy paste my grades for my family to see but when it comes out in the HTML table. It looks like gobble dee goop for my uncle at his work e-mail. Like I copy a table that fits on a normal printed out page. I ctrl V it to my outlook and send it to him. It appears all stretched out and stuff in his e-mail. He says he uses lotus notes to check to his e-mail. Is there any way I could get a converter to convert CTRL V html from a website to straight text on the fly? instead of converting an html file ? My thing is too long for me to type out myself and a converter would be a neat thing I could play around with. Hi everyone, I've been searching around the web trying to find out how I can send using Outlook a html and text email newsletter automatically. I am quite happy creating html only newsletters, and text ones for that matter, but I have been digging and believe that by using multi-part code I can send to both and the recipients email client "allows" whichever version to be displayed - does this sound right? I'm hoping to simply create the html with the relevent mime references and boundaries (dont know what they are but have seen them on enough Google'd pages to know that they mean something!) and then copy and paste into Outlook - the newsletter is only going out to a few people at a time. However, I can't seem to identify it in the code. For some reason the banner is split into two parts. " HomePageBanner1.png " and " HomePageBanner2.png " ... The website can be viewed HERE . Heylo, been a frequent visitor of here for awhile now but never registered. Anywho, I'm in a bit of a stuck position with a website of mine for our family's condo we have in Destin, FL. I created the website maybe 3 years ago or so, when I knew little coding and what not, so I did everything in images using Adobe Photoshop. Well, it's gotten really old/annoying to have to do the updating for my Dad & Step Mom and I'd like to make it into a regular website that they can update themselves. Sooo, I need to make it into a site where they can use an html editor to add text/images w/o using photoshop and moving everything. Here's the website link to check it out for yourself: www.sundestinresort.com I recently updated it to make it have a small bit of php so that the header and footer only load once, while the middle part (including the side navigation) is an image alone with lots of maps for the links using Fireworks 8. I'd really like to know how I can make it so that I can have the navigation on the left side alone, and then have the main text area an editable region. If this means losing the background image and making it white, that's acceptable. I'm not really sure how to do this really (tables?) or what, so ANY help would be greatly appreciated. I don't like this feature but understand some people need the help for them to read the text. What I want to do is like this: 1) Move all the text content of my website to mywebsite.xml, organized in text blocks corresponding to each web page E.g.: I cut the text content from the HMTL of the "my profile" web page and paste it to the XML file as a text block under a suitable heading. By text content I mean all the text that is viewable, like "Autodidact. For example, the text of my menu entries is the same in all pages. I want that when I need to modify the text of a menu entry (e.g. replacing "graphic design" by "visual art"), I can just do it in the XML file and that's all, instead of making the change in every web page. Hi Folks, I am new to create static website and HTML. I have created two applications using Asp.net/Visual Studio. I am wondering how i can make static website. I found built in templates on web hosting site is easy to change, I can also try to use Ms Expression Web/Ms Front Page but unable to measure which one is better for maintaing pointing of view. How i can easily create graphics logo. I heard Corel Draw is good one. Do i have to buy licence to upload site built by Ms Expression Web/Ms Front Page. Hello, I hired contractors to build a site for me. The site's front page has a small section for text, the developers added some placeholder text in this spot. Now that the site is completed, I changed the text as follows: I downloaded the index.php file from my webhost. I changed it to a txt file, then opened in notepad, found the placeholder text, changed it, saved the file, renamed the file back to php, then uploaded to webhost, replacing old index.php file.
