HTML - How Do I Embed An .swf File In Html ?

Hi everyone,

Now I am trying to put the pdf file on my web page.
I use:
<embed src="myfile.pdf" width="800" height="700">
but it doesn't appear in the page, it only shows the icon like small square picture.
My browser is IE8.

Any Suggestion, please....

I have this task as part of an HTML class project.

It has to be done using the <embed> tag, and must repeat a wav file twice (playing it three times total).

This is the code I'm using:

It doesn't loop at all in firefox, and in IE it loops constantly. If I remove the loop="3" attribute, it works properly in IE.

Is there any way to get this working across browsers using the embed tag, or would a more complex method be needed? (such as javascript browser detection with browser specific code).

I'm really stuck on this, any help would be really appreciated.

I am building an offline video sharing site (Like youtube- just not connected to the internet).

I want to embed SD (flv)& HD (mp4) videos to this site,
when user need only flash player installed on his machine
(just like youtube).
Can anyone assist me with this html code writing & accessories needed?

I am embeding videos to mu blog, but are videos from a TV station so I took the code but is strange I can't make them stop. My users start to be upset about it.

Hey! I'm new. Like the forums!

I have an odd question. I have a profile on another website. There's a section called 'About Me' and I can fill it with information about myself (it supports html). But the problem is that there is a 5000 character limit and I well exceeded that. Is there a website that would allow me to type my profile information and then give me some html code and wherever i would paste the code i would get my profile information?

I have a basic html page, and want to embed audio.

I am using:

<BGSOUND SRC=myfile.mp3 LOOP=1>

So that when my main index.html page loads, that file plays. Two things I want to do:

1) Let it continue playing when I click on another page within my site (it currently stops when I navigate away from index.html)

2) Assuming I can do #1, make it stop playing when I navigate to one page in particular.

This possible? Doing a google search, and that's actually how I came up with that code, but cant seem to find anything in regards to making 1 & 2 work. I do not want to do frames, and definitely do not want to do a flash site, which I undertand may be the only way.

Any ideas on how to make this work with html?

So I am lost at how to do this, I have a server side program that scrapes websites (e.g amazon.co.uk) and modifies the content and reserves this as its own page. (I know this sounds naughty but intentions are honorable!)

basically I want to set the page to be a header (of my website header) and an Iframe type element containing the full html of the scraped text. Similar to proxify.co.uk

Looking at the page source of proxify, they needed to do some serious modification of the page they reserve to achieve this

Any ideas how to achieve this simply

for example say the page I scraped looks like

I am currently building an HTML newsletter complete with graphics and it is all set up and appears fine in my IE and other web browsers.

However, now I want to actually place this HTML and graphics in the actual e-mail form and test it. This may sound like like a stupid question, but does anyone know how to do this? For the life of me I can't think of any way to actually embed an .html file (or just the HTML coding) inside of an email and have it appear inside of say.. a Yahoo, MSN, google, or outllook express email form.

I need to be able to do this to test an send my e-newsletter. I've searched the net for tutorials on how to do this but have come up empty handed. Any ideas on how to go about this? Thanks in advance!

Hi guys, first time poster, but this issue is really stumping me.

I'm embedding a .swf movie that is a large banner. The thing is, it works on the index.html page, as well as the news.html page, but when I try using the same exact embed code on the sub-links of the site, it says "Movie not loaded.." and doesn't work.

As you can see on http://www.hickorygp.com/ and the News page, http://hickorygp.com/news.html - both .swf movies work, as I used the same exact code from the index to the news page, yet when I use the same exact code again (copy and pasted) for an article of the News page he http://www.hickorygp.com/news/idd-4809.html the movie does not load....

I really don't understand whats going on, as, like I said earlier, I'm literally copy and pasting the same exact embed code that works on the index.html page and the news.html page.

FYI, the overall goal is to re-design each news article from the news.html link to resemble the main page layout


edit: I was looking at the ftp directory again, and it just came to the realization to me that the articles are stored in a separate folder, whereas the index.html and news.html is stored in the root. Shouldn't the source still work when it is directed at a file in the root even though its contained in a separate folder?

Hi, I'm trying to include one HTML file in another. I tried iframe and was displeased with the results, I want the size of the frame to change dynamically and not just scroll. Fair warning, my knowledge of JavaScript is non-existent >_> .

Basically, I have a document written in HTML (please don't suggest a wholesale re-write, that's simply not practical) and the idea is to have one file where it makes sense to include it several times. One thing to mention, this document is not meant to be shown on a web-server, but in a browser while you're reading it off your hard-drive.

Hi ,I am new in html.Hope you can guide me step-by-step on this.
I want to import my .txt file into the html form and the html form can add new item then to be add in to that particular .txt file too as well. can this be done?
For example:
(fruits.txt)

3.orange
Can this fruit.txt be impoted to fruit.html page and show it at fruit.html page, at the same time, the fruit html page allow to add in new fruit, and once user add in new fruit, the fruit.txt file will be updated as well.
