HTML - Changing Images On A Html Page
Hello People,
I have 5 images that i want to display one by one after regular interval's of time . I dont know how to do this in HTML .Can you please help me. Thanks in advance, Kluserner Similar TutorialsI'm in charge of doing the coding for a site that's been designed by a graphic designer with no knowledge of code. I like his designs, and the client wants me to make the site look exactly like them. They're .psd files representing each page. He sent me almost all of the images, but not the background and not certain key decorations (the guitar pics). I told him I needed the background, but his hard drive died (without being backed up) before he could send it to me. He doesn't seem to remember what font he used either. In light of all that, and the fact that the client wanted to get a basic version of the site up asap, I just converted the PSD's to JPEG's, uploaded them as whole pages, and used div's and image maps to add links and additional content. But that is obviously not a long-term solution. In fact, it's causing browser compatibility issues right now. And it's not accessible . . . etc. So I need to replicate these page design images using HTML or XHTML, and CSS. I can probably find a similar background and font to work with, but I just don't know where to begin. I haven't worked with CSS in years, but it looks like I'd probably need to use it. I'm not asking anyone to do my job for me. I'm just wondering how you would approach this task. Does anyone have time to look at the images and point me in the right direction? Help needed: 1. Please provide the html chunk that I can use to embed the small page in to other html pages. 2. Is there a way of not using iframe? Can I use <Object> or <embed>? This might be a .css question, but I have several html pages with a copyright date at the bottom, and I want to be able to change the date from within a text file and display that date (use a function to open the text file) so that I can just change the text file instead of every html page. Maybe there's an easier or more logical way of accomplishing this, so I'm open to any suggestions. Hello! Just a quick question really... Have you ever visited a website, clicked a link within the site, and noticed after doing so that only a portion of the page has changed? The diagram attached will hopefully help explain I am trying to achieve. i basically want a page consisting of two columns. The left column (nav) will be my navigation panel and contain links that when clicked by the user, the content beside it in the 'right' column (content) changes. Please can anyone suggest how i can achieve this? I have experimented with frames and floating frames (iframes) and it does work, yet I understand that frames are not supported by all browsers? this worries me! Can this be achieved through css? I made it in MS publisher, now to change the data, I have to go back to MS pub. and change and save and resize etc etc. What I would like to do is: Make the image, cut out the data and then be able to put the data in using HTML code. I think that would require using code for the data and the new picture I created using absolutes. but since never using absolutes, I am not sure. any ideas? And that setting should be saved in the user system, when the user loads the page again in the system, that the page should load with the saved settings. Can I have images inside a table? If, then does it have to be inside a row? If, then does it have to be inside a cell? Can images be somewhere else? Is this kind of structure totally ok? I have recently created a website using a CMS (i know you shouldnt but i am learning HTML and will soon be ditching the CMS) and therefore have no control over the CSS One of the things i am doing on my site is to show artists work off to the world. Therefore they give me the images and i have little to no control over their appearence. To protect the images i have decided to make the actual art the background of a table and to put a blank image infront of it. However i have come across a problem. When i rightclick and go to the blank images properties it shows as the height being 377 but the width as 540. I really have tried everything i can think of and nothing seems to help. Any ideas would be greatly apreciated. However due to recent experiences i would also make a couple of requests. I am trying very hard to learn HTML and i already know that the majority of you if not all of you have a far superior understanding of it than i do. I say this because the forums i went to before this one were very argumentative and tended to talk to me as if i were a moron. 2ndly i am aware that there is no foolproof way of protecting images. I say this because as before when i posed this question to a previous forum they just insisted i shouldnt do it and that images shouldnt be put on the net and would not help me. I dont mean to be rude or anything like that i just found my previous experience with the html experts very frustrating and therefore i just want to state that i am asking for help, not grief. Basically I want the user to be able to browse their images for an image file and then load that to another cell on the table. I don't have much experience with HTML but I need to learn how to do this code for one of my assignments and I couldn't find any clear tutorials on how to do it. Any help would be appreciated. |
