HTML - Frames Bgcolor When Loading
hi!
well this is my first post on this site, hopefully someone can give me a solution as i'm tired of searching for one and failing ...... I built a frame based web site with a black background. my problem is that when the frames load in the framesets a white background is displayed. anyone can tell me how i can make these turn black ? thank you in advance, michael. oh i almost forgot ..... the site is www.naproduction.com Similar TutorialsHad an idea for a web page I've been working on, but not sure how to do it. The page is divided into three frame columns. Left, skinny frame shows a file with all my buttons. Clicking on any of those buttons loads a file into the large center frame, displaying a large picture. What I'd like to do is to make that button simultaneously load a second file into the frame on the right, showing text describing the image in the center. Unfortunately I don't know how to make my button do two things instead of just one. Can HTML do that, or do I need scripting for stuff like that? Okay, so here's my site, a Duke3D map review site: http://msdn.planetduke.gamespy.com/indexmain.shtml As you can see, it has frames (ooh, the horror!). The problem I have (or have had for a long time but have been too lazy to do anything about it) is that at times I'd like to post links to specific map reviews but linking to separate shtml files means that you won't get the top and left frames. So, is there some code I can write in, for example, this page so that whenever you access that subpage, it loads the frames around it as well? Hi all, I was wondering what kind of design you guys would recommend for a website that contains about 350 individual pages, each of which is to be opened directly from a main menu. I am using frames and a tree menu on my site, and it works fine, but there are two problems. First, the frames are not indexed by search engines; second, any search engine result will either lead to an indivdual page without the menu, disabling any further navigation OR when using Javascript to bring up both frames, it will display the opening page instead of the page suggested by the search engine results. Would anyone have a solution? The site is at www.cornetsdegroot.com. It's in Dutch; I'm hoping that won't be too much of a problem. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks, Rutger Hello everyone. I have just stumbled across this group whilst investigating an issue I am having with a website, what a great resource you have here. I look after the website for my local volunteer fire brigade and I have maintained it for a number of years without any major problems. However in the last couple of weeks it has become apparent that the website is not loading all of the frames for the pages. This appears to only be an issue when browsing with Internet Explorer, as it all looks fine in Firefox. The website is located at http://www.mvcfs.asn.au/ It is only very basic, as that is my current level of HTML programming, I am considering changing to an alternate web layout program like Wordpress, however I haven't looked too much into the details of it yet. I have tried loading this page in I.E. on a number of different computers and they all suffer the same problem, I am currently using version 8.0.600 right now and it is not working, the Firefox version I am viewing it on is 8.0 and that appears to work ok. Is anyone able to suggest a possible solution to this issue, I haven't made any significant changes to the site in the last couple of weeks, so I am not sure why this problem has suddenly come up. Thankyou for your assistance. Regards Matt Hi, I'm using bgcolor in my table, but I'm facing a problem in showing the colors in full page! This is the code I'm using: Code: <table width='100%' height='100%' cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0'> <tr> <td bgcolor='blue'> </td> <td bgcolor='black'> </td> <td bgcolor='blue'> </td> </tr> </table> This is the current situation: http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/6346/nowlh2.jpg I want to maximize the color to the full pgae so the white color around the table is removed. This is what I'm looking for: http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/8522/wantul8.jpg Thanks in advance Hi guys..i have 1 table which is background color is black. I also have link <a></a> inside that table. Once user click the link, it will change the table background color to red. Then when user click the link again, the color willl change to default color, black. i have no idea how to do that. any help? hello, i have seen on alot of web pages some kind of radial bgcolor of page, where at the top of page it's alot white and as you scroll down the page it gets darker and darker. does anyone knows what is this about? thanks http://matc.studentsites.net/restorf...nal/index.html I can't get my bgcolor to display in the main content table. I tried adding it to the tr, td, and the style sheet. Nothing seemed to work. Works fine in IE and Opera. Any ideas? Edit: Also my text in the footer isn't formating. The bgcolor of a table works in Iexplorer but not in Firefox. Also the left/right/topmargin doesnt work at all in Firefox. Any idea how this is? Thanks for your help --khan Hi, I want to load a window with loading image on a button click. The new window is having an other content so before loading the actual content i want to disapear the loading image from the new window. I tried with html like <html> <img src=".." /> --------------------- Actual content " display:none " ----------------------- <script> actual contentid.display:block; img.display:none; </script> </html> But in this method am seing the image after some time lanching the window. i want to c the image right after launcing the window till my actual content loads. can anybody suggest something for this,..... I've heard many times "don't use frames, there is better ways to accomplish it", and I was wondering, is this just referring to "invisible" frames, or any frames? For example, look at Kingdom of Loathing. They use frames (or what appears to be frames) and I can't see how they could successfully make that site without. If I had to have all the screens scroll as one rather than separate, and couldn't resize when I needed to, it would be extremely annoying. So, frames are bad, or just the invisible ones? http://www.heresmary.com I just finished uploading my site, and I noticed that when I click on a link the page loads then loads again a split second after. Does this happen to anyone else? If so can anyone give me any advice about it? Alright here is my problem. I have a website that is runned using frames and I have another site that wants to link to a specific page on my site. Is there a way an outside website can link to the frame on my site Hey can someone help me do something like a frame but where you could add backrounds something like this ___________________________________________________ | Insert | | Text | | and | | back | | round | | here | | | | | Lock n delete. My net is stuffing up n it double posted. Please read my other post... Hi guys, I have a couple of sites done over the last while and, whilst they work well enough, I want something like frames. I have resisted using them because everything on the net about it seems to be bad. The problem is that I have a 'template' which is the same for almost every page on the site (logo, search bar, top navigation bar, side navigation & footer). If I want to change anything in this 'template', I have to go and change it on every single page. This is OK on a couple of pages but I have nearly 20 now and it seems ridiculous! So how should I be doing it? What I really want is to have the 'template' in just one place so that I change the one file and it then applies to all my pages. I am self taught and really only know html/css with a very limited knowledge of javascript. Thank you Hey, I'm a html noob building a website for html. I have frames set up so that it is 3 columns. In the middle column there are three rows (Header, menu and content respectively). The problem I'm having is, although I've made the frames so that they can't be dragged to alter their size, when the user resizes the window the frames get resized and all the content (including banner, menu buttons etc.) get cut off or pushed into "no mans land". Id like one of the following to be possible: - How do i make the window so it opens at a specific size, and cant be resized. - Or if the window has to be resizable, can i set a minimum point the frames can be resized to. - Or how do i make the content so that it doenst go to the s***house. - Or how do i make the frames so they aren't resized when the window is... Bellow is a picture and my coding so you can see what's wrong: (in the picture you can see the banner being cut off, the buttons havent been cut off yet as the window is still big). <body properties="fixed"> <frameset border="3" bordercolor="#000000" rows="100%"> <frameset cols="20%,60%,20%"> <frame src="backdrop.html" name="lbackdrop" noresize scrolling="no"> <frameset rows="25%,10%,65%"> <frame src="header.html" name="header" noresize scrolling="no"> <frame src="menu2.html" name="menu" noresize scrolling="no" <frame src="main.html" name="mainwindow" noresize scrolling="no" </frameset> <frame src="backdrop.html" name="rbackdrop" noresize scrolling="no"> </frameset> </frameset> </body> Thanks in advance so I am making a new webpage at http://www.geocities.com/manic.panicd I am wondering what the link code is for frames. When i click on "you" or "site", etc...I want it to open up in the main frame part of my layout. For an example of how im running into trouble. Check my webbie and click on the mini piece of lined paper in the "The Girl" section. How do i link properly? Hey, http://www.artistrichardcook.co.uk/src/ - here is the start to a website I am making for my art college which exists of two frames. A left (with the links) and the main frame (with the content). Simple. However, due to it being a frame and the obviously long list of links, when my browser is smaller than usual you can't see the bottom of the links. I know I could add a scrollbar to the frame but it looks pretty awful. My screen is a 17" laptop and the number of people at college viewing this will have smaller laptop screens and this is my problem. Basically, was there anyway to make both the left frame scroll as you scrolled the main frame as in linked? So the scrollbar would exist for both the frames rather than just one or the other? Sorry if this doesn't make sense but I'm not sure how else to put it. I would appreciate any help Thanks, Rich |
