HTML - Fireworks Drop Down Menu Position Problem
Hi,
I was wondering if someone could help me... I made a drop down menu using fireworks for the site http://www.lakehillsca.org/ and the menu works perfectly in IE. But when viewing the site in firefox, the menu positioning isn't right. The menu uses javascript, but I'm pretty sure it isn't a javascript issue. Is there anyone out there that can figure this out??? Thanks for your time. -Chris Similar TutorialsHi Everyone- I was wondering if anyone has experienced the issue of fireworks generated dropdowns showing up behind form textfields. Is there any way to code around this? Thx Hello there... just want to ask, When i slice in Fireworks, and change the slice to HTML, it changes that slice's background. Tnomeralc Web Design Toys Eriuqs Spires Healthy Recreation Hello, I'm working on website and I want to use spry drop down menu bar and I have trouble with it. This is how I want it to be like : When menu is active(rollover hover), it turns darker blue from light blue, and the submenu is same light blue when its not active, but it turns to pink when its active. By far, what I got is : When I roll over submenu, the color is not different from the menu unless the submenus has subsubmenu.... (its orange, but I'm gonna change to pink) like this: It is kinda hard to explain.. but I hope you understood. Thank you very much! --------- here is code : I didn't make any change for the upper part, and this is only part that I made changes. and I only changed colors. --------- } ul.MenuBarHorizontal a{ display: block; cursor: pointer; background-color: #33CCFF; padding: 0.5em 0.75em; color: #FFFFFF; text-decoration: none; } ul.MenuBarHorizontal a:hover, ul.MenuBarHorizontal a:focus{ background-color: #336699; color: #FFF; } ul.MenuBarHorizontal a.MenuBarItemHover, ul.MenuBarHorizontal a.MenuBarItemSubmenuHover, ul.MenuBarHorizontal a.MenuBarSubmenuVisible{ background-color: #336699; color: #FFF; } ul.MenuBarHorizontal a.MenuBarItemSubmenu{ background-image: url(SpryMenuBarDown.gif); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: 95% 50%; } ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul a.MenuBarItemSubmenu{ background-image: url(SpryMenuBarRight.gif); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: 95% 50%; } ul.MenuBarHorizontal a.MenuBarItemSubmenuHover{ background-image: url(SpryMenuBarDownHover.gif); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: 95% 50%; background-color: #336699; } ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul a.MenuBarItemSubmenuHover{ background-image: url(SpryMenuBarRightHover.gif); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: 95% 50%; background-color: #FF3366; I'm trying to center the drop menu x horizontal code from the following url: http://www.gosu.pl/MyGosuMenu/ The problem is every time I center it all browsers except Internet Explorer mess up when you try to resize the window. For example in Firefox if you center the drop down menu and hover your mouse over the drop down menu it will line up but then if resize the Firefox window and hover your mouse over the drop down menu again the drop down options will not line up. For centering I've tried centering with CSS and using the <center> tag and both ways cause this same problem. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff i have this particular drop down menu in a wordpress PHP sidebar template, but i cant get it to execute once an option is selected. when i had this in another PHP page through a DW library item, it would execute just fine. here is the code... Code: <form name="guideform" id="guideform" action="#"> <select name="guidelinks" id="guidelinks" onChange="window.location=document.guideform.guidelinks.options[document.guideform.guidelinks.selectedIndex].value"> <option selected value="#">default</option> <option value="option 1 url">option 1</option> <option value="option 2 url">option 2</option> <option value="option 3 url">option 3</option> </select> </form> can someone tell me why this would work on one PHP page and not another? heres where i have the element in place on the page... http://flyerflies.com/blog also, another question...how can i adjust the width of the display pane once the menu is opened? in FF, it opens to show all of the contents, but in IE (surprise, surprise) it only opens to the same width as the default text display in the unopened drop down box. Hey guys I'm really stumped I'm just starting this project and so far all I have is a javascript/css drop down menu I'm tweaking and a flash slide show. Right now I'm having 2 problems. #1 my menus are getting overlapped by the flash, I keep trying a z-index on the div I have in the flash, but it isn't working. #2 I'm having problems positioning the div which the flash is contained by. For example I tried centering the div with css and it was to no avail. I had to put <center></center> around the whole div to achieve this. If anyone could help that would be amazing, check out www.atlanta-web.com Thanks, Okay, clearly I'm new to the forums, so I apologise in advance if I've posted this in the wrong section/shouldn't have posted it (I'm used to phpBB's forums anyways, our site runs that). Okay, here's the problem. For our website, we need to upload links in the form of pictures etc. - stuff like 'go' buttons, info boxes etc. So far, I've been making thm in fireworks with rectangle hotspots and the like. However, des[pite my various efforts, I haven't been able to get them to work. I it to do with the quality? E.g., do they need to be websafe colours (websnap whatever?), or is it the way I'm getting the HTML code. I'm aware that I can make more interactive buttons in flash, and I can do that with ease, but in this case, I have trouble with security settings, and whenever we attempted to upload it, it would not display. Thanks for your help, guys, I hope you can work it out! Hello Everyone, Please tell me....How to Remove Fireworks in HTML? So I designed some websites in Photoshop and I'm still learning it, but recently I saw many people talking about Fireworks and how it is a way better way of producing web design work than Photoshop. They say FW is a more efficient tool, as it was strictly built to create web design. That in terms of web design, it can do everything Photoshop can, but in a more simple way. Is it true? If it is, I think learning Fireworks is a good idea. But..there are soooo many Photoshop tutorials and so much less Fireworks tutorials. And that's my second question: Can I apply Photoshop web design tutorials to Fireworks? I mean, can I watch/ read Photoshop tutorials and figure out how to do the exact same things in Fireworks? On my website under computer applications - utilities and drivers. I used an on page menu because of the page size. It is internal java script, or listed on the page. It functions but does not go where directed. I want the heading of the menu item at the top of the page. I followed the directions for the anchor but it doesn't always position correctly. The same occurs with CSS. How can I get it to position correctly because I will want to add more categories and more content and need it to position correctly with changes. Menu Utilities --- positions correctly Drivers --- positions in utilities Diagnostics --- positions with heading at bottom of page Registry cleaners --- positions in middle of diagnostics Registry tutorials --- positions in middle of Registry cleaners Computer help --- positions in middle of Registry tutorials Thank you for all your help falcon not sure if in the correct category of this forum First, forgive me i'm a noob! Am attempting to rebuild our sorry website. Am kinda picking the whole html thing up, however, am building in frontpage and expressions because those are the programs i have. page i'm working on is: ygcc.org/testing i embedded a video, but would like to position it to line up w/ everything else. i like how it looks centered, but its not aligned correctly w/ the other objects on the page. also, everything else is "positioned" on the page, whereas the media is "aligned" so, it doesn't stay put if i resize my browser next problem i'm having is jump menu or tree menu. i want a drop boxes, such as are on the page, however, would like it if it was a horizontal menu, not individual boxes like they are. right now, the drop boxes are only drop boxes (for "forms") and do not hyperlink. if i "insert jumpmenu" then, i cannot put them beside each other in a row. if i attempt to put them in a row, they are like steps, not straight across. i d/led a program to help w/ menus, but i don't even understand it. when i attempted what it told me to do, i do not get a menu. i know i need to put javascript in, but apparently do not understand this enough to actually do it. in short i would truly appreciate some help. thanks in advance Hey guys, I am very new to web design, however have some basic knowledge of html.
