http://www.users.on.net/~bmccowan/ex.JPG Similar Tutorialshello, i just started a redesign of my site. i was wondering if there was a way to make the buttons line up with a tables collapsed border. there always seems to be a space no matter what i do. any suggestions? youll see what i mean...... http://mightycleancarpets.net/newdesign/index.htm Hi, How do I get my table to be flush with the top and sides of the screen? Currently there is a spacing in automatic between. Thanks I tried to search and google, but I don't really know what to search for... Im looking for some code on how to put a black border/frame around the content on my landingpage... can someone help me? Thanks for your time! Hello, could someone point me to where I can read about making a table work as a frame? I have 4 images, which are pages, I would like to have them displayed in a table below without refreshing the page when I click on them. Please see the attachment! The buttons are in flash, if that is helpful. Thanks! i want to open a frame by clicking on a cell,i can only do this when the ref is outside the table, can you help? Thanks everybody I'm fairly new to html, so if it's something obvious, give me a break. I have a background image with blank sections where I want to put stuff in to, and in one of the sections I want to put a frame or a table so I can have a list of links which you can scroll through, but I don't know how to put it anywhere I want on the page. Any help would be great, thanks. Greetings, I'm familiar with coding, but not a genius by any means. I've ran this by a few HTML guys and neither have had any luck. I am trying to come up with a template for a webpage. I would like the basic layout of: This page My goal is to have the frame layout the same with the following: Top Left frame - Logo Bottom Left frame - undecided, probably contact information Left frame - navigation links Bottom frame - content I'd like the top 3 frames to stay stationary (even when going to another internal link), and the bottom page able to scroll and change content when necessary. I'm able to see the layout fine in Firefox, but not IE 6.0 One of the HTML guys suggested using a table instead of frames to get the same effect. We were able to view it in IE, however could not get the top 3 cells to stay stationary while the bottom moved. Someone mentioned iframes, but I don't know anything about them or how to implement them. Could someone look at the 2 sets of code and see if the above mentioned idea is possible (and obviously how to make it work if so)? I don't care if its frames or table, as long as it works, hehe. Frame Code: Code: <html> <head> <title> The Page Name </title> <meta name="keyword" content="blah" /> <meta name="description" content="I hope this works" /> <meta name="robots" content="all" /> </head> <FRAMESET ROWS="75,*"> <NOFRAMES> <BODY BGCOLOR="#FFFFF0"><CENTER>Your browser does not suport frames. </CENTER> </NOFRAMES> <FRAMESET BORDERCOLOR="RED" COLS="200,*"> <FRAMESET ROWS="23,23"> <FRAME MARGINWIDTH="1" MARGINHEIGHT="1" NAME="logo" SRC="logo.htm" SCROLLING="no"> <FRAME MARGINWIDTH="1" MARGINHEIGHT="1" NAME="counter" SRC="counter.htm" SCROLLING="no"> </FRAMESET> <FRAME MARGINWIDTH="1" MARGINHEIGHT="1" NAME="menu" SRC="menu.htm" SCROLLING="no"> </FRAMESET> <FRAME FRAME MARGINWIDTH="35" MARGINHEIGHT="1" NAME="main" SRC="main.htm"> </FRAMESET> </body> </html> -------------------------------------- Table Code: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"> <title>table</title> <style ="text/css"> body{ margin: 0px; } </style> </head> <body> <table style="text-align: left; width: 100%; height: 100%;" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="width: 200px; height: 37px;">a</td> <td colspan="1" rowspan="2">a</td> </tr> <tr> <td style="height: 37px;">a</td> </tr> <tr> <td style="vertical-align: top;" colspan="2" rowspan="1">a</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <br> </body> </html> I appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks. I have a table with the height attribute set to 100%. This is displayed within a frameset. The table has a thin border on the right, and I want this to be continuous for the full height of the frame when displayed, irrespective of the content. The problem is that the table doesn't fill the frame, so the border stops leaving a gap. How can I get the table to resize to fill the frame? Hi Forum!! Okay I'm using an image map (well sliced image...I dont know if theres a difference) and I'm trying to get the imape map links to open up in either a table or a frame below. I didnt know if you can target images into a table...thats why I said or. Right now I have a table with a frame inside of it although I don't tihnk my frame code is right and the frame isnt really there. Here is a link to the outline of fanlisting ---I have ALOT of bugs to work out as you will see. www.geocities.com/diesel_girl35/index.html The actual links in my image map is working but Im not sure how to direct them to where I want them to go. And my table is too small... I wanted it to be the width of the image..which I think I can figure out. BTW if anyone has any suggestions on a better way to accomplish what I'm trying to accomplish please advise me =} And here is what my image map code looks like..if it will help. So should I target into a table or frame and how would I go about getting everything to work right? PLEASE AND THANK U <!-- Begin Table --> <TABLE BORDER="0" CELLPADDING="0" CELLSPACING="0" WIDTH="856" HEIGHT="447"> <TR> <TD ROWSPAN="1" COLSPAN="6" WIDTH="856" HEIGHT="407"> <IMG NAME="ino_menu30" SRC="ino_menu3_1x1.png" WIDTH="856" HEIGHT="407" BORDER="0"></TD> </TR> <TR> <TD ROWSPAN="1" COLSPAN="1" WIDTH="75" HEIGHT="40"> <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/diesel_girl35/ino_about.html" target="about"><IMG NAME="ino_menu31" SRC="ino_menu3_2x1.png" WIDTH="75" HEIGHT="40" BORDER="0" ALT="About Its Not Over"></A></TD> <TD ROWSPAN="1" COLSPAN="1" WIDTH="74" HEIGHT="40"> <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/diesel_girl35/ino_rules.html"><IMG NAME="ino_menu32" SRC="ino_menu3_2x2.gif" WIDTH="74" HEIGHT="40" BORDER="0" ALT="Know The Rules"></A></TD> <TD ROWSPAN="1" COLSPAN="1" WIDTH="86" HEIGHT="40"> <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/diesel_girl35/ino_codes.html"><IMG NAME="ino_menu33" SRC="ino_menu3_2x3.gif" WIDTH="86" HEIGHT="40" BORDER="0" ALT="Get Sum Codes"></A></TD> <TD ROWSPAN="1" COLSPAN="1" WIDTH="71" HEIGHT="40"> <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/diesel_girl35/ino_join.html"><IMG NAME="ino_menu34" SRC="ino_menu3_2x4.gif" WIDTH="71" HEIGHT="40" BORDER="0" ALT="Become A Fan"></A></TD> <TD ROWSPAN="1" COLSPAN="1" WIDTH="79" HEIGHT="40"> <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/diesel_girl35/ino_xtra.html"><IMG NAME="ino_menu35" SRC="ino_menu3_2x5.jpg" WIDTH="79" HEIGHT="40" BORDER="0" ALT="More Stuff"></A></TD> <TD ROWSPAN="1" COLSPAN="1" WIDTH="471" HEIGHT="40"> <IMG NAME="ino_menu36" SRC="ino_menu3_2x6.gif" WIDTH="471" HEIGHT="40" BORDER="0"></TD> </TR> </TABLE> <!-- End Table --> hello, i am getting the results in two columns after using the following code... import_request_variables('p','p_'); $connect=mysql_connect('localhost','gkkilaru','gkkilaru') or die('could not open:'. mysql_error()); mysql_select_db('gkkilaru_db'); $result=mysql_query("SELECT * FROM human WHERE $p_Searchtype='$p_Search'"); function returnResultsInColumns( $mysqlResult ) { $queryResults = NULL; if( mysql_num_rows($mysqlResult) > 0 ) { while($resultRow = mysql_fetch_array($mysqlResult)) { for ($intPos = 0; $intPos < mysql_num_fields($mysqlResult); $intPos++) { $fieldName = mysql_field_name($mysqlResult, $intPos); $currentArrayPos = ( isset( $queryResults[$fieldName] ) ? count( $queryResults[$fieldName] ) : 0); $queryResults[$fieldName][$currentArrayPos] = $resultRow[$fieldName]; } } $htmlTable = "<table>"; foreach( $queryResults as $field => $results ) { $htmlTable.= "<tr>"; $htmlTable.= "<td>" . $field . Hi, I'm trying to make a border with a 50x50px image repeated around it this is the code I have so far; <html> <head> <title>div test</title> <style type="text/css"> #outer { background-image: url(http://i890.photobucket.com/albums/a...oxBorder.jpg); background-repeat: repeat; background-color: #cccccc; width:100%; padding: 3em; } #inner { background-color:#ffffff; padding: 2em; } p {margin: 0px;} </style> </head> <body> <div id="outer"> <div id="inner"> <p> Blah blah blah </p> </div> </div> </body> </html> I want the image around the border to be showing the same as it does at the top, at the bottom. And i want the size of the table to be increased when new text is added into it each time. Can somebody please help me? Thankkksss. Hey guys! I have created a table with images in it and for some reason the table doesn't exactly fit (in height) the images, it has like a little 5px border at the bottom and I can't figure out why. I have attached a picture showing the problem. In the image, the gray border is supposed to be there, and is part of the images and background image. But I want the table to end directly at the bottom of the gray bar, and for some reason it has a little lip at the bottom in which the background image begins to repeat again. My code is as follows: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>QuickID | Setup Your Account</title> <style type="text/css"> <!-- a:link { color: #777676; text-decoration: none; font: verdana} a:visited { color: #777676; text-decoration: none; font: verdana} a:hover { color: #3366CC; text-decoration: underline; font: verdana} a:active { color: #777676; text-decoration: none; font: verdana} --> </style> </head> <body topmargin=0 leftmargin=0 rightmargin=0 bottommargin=0 background="images/bg.gif"> <table cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 width=100% border=0 align=center background="images/top_bar_bg.jpg"> <tr> <td> <table width=980 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 align=center style="white-space: nowrap;" height=38> <tr> <td align=left> <img src="images/top_bar_logo.jpg" border=0 height=38 ALT="logo"> <img src="images/top_bar_divider.jpg" border=0 height=38 ALT="divider"> </td> <td align=left width=750> hello! </td> <td align=right> <img src="images/top_bar_divider.jpg" border=0 height=38 ALT="divider"> </td> <td align=right> <img src="images/top_bar_settings.jpg" border=0 height=38 ALT="settings"> </td> <td align=right> <img src="images/top_bar_logout.jpg" border=0 height=38 ALT="logout"> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> </body> I am building an adwords landing page. The URL is he http://www.amanochocolate.com/adwords/dark-chocolate If you notice, I have put a text block on the right that is all black. I wanted it to have rounded corners so I used some graphics to achieve that. However, for some reason, the table cell color is showing up around the border even though I have no borders set for the table. (I.,e., border:0pt) Also, the border I don't want on the bottom is thicker for some odd reason. I've seen this before but have never figured out what causes this. I would simply like my table borders to be really clean (and gone). Any ideas? -Art I'm trying to create a table border that is not continuous and leaves space for header/footer text. This is the only way I can describe it, and also see image: http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/747/tablefo.jpg Now, that was a custom vbulletin theme, which is php, obviously. Is this possible with tables and HTML, with a bit of CSS perhaps? Hey! I was making a navigation bar that goes to the left of the content (there is a main nav at the top and a subnavigation for the page to the left). Here's the layout |----banner------| ==========main nav ll content ll content ll content the vertical equal signs (aka L's ) on the left are the things that are troubling me. I don't want there to be a border but the page for some reason keeps coming up with a small space between the left, bottom, and top of the subnav. Here's my code for the subnav and the content: Code: <table width="100%" cellpadding="0px" style="height: 100%; align: left; background-color: #ffffff; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px;" cellspacing="0px"> <tr><td> <table cellpadding="0px" cellspacing="0px" width="130px" style="height: 100%; align: center; valign: middle; background-color: #FF7F00; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-right: 5px solid #ff0000;"> <tr><td align="center">A Brief History</td></tr><tr><td align="center">Who We Serve</td></tr><tr><td align="center">The Difference</td></tr></table></td> <td> <table cellspacing="0px" cellpadding="5px"><tr><td><b>About Us</b></td></tr></table> <blockquote> content </blockquote> <blockquote><p>content</p></blockquote> </td></tr></table> Within the <table> tag, there is an attribute called frame. Can someone list for me the different values for the frame attribute. I know there is <table frame = rhs | lhs but I don't know what else there is other than rhs and lhs. Thanks I have an issue. I really need to get rid of the borders in a html project i'm working on. I need to get ride of the borders to make a solid line from the left to the right. My screenshot is he http://terpconnect.umd.edu/~dwallac2/Screenshot.png <?php echo("<table border='0'"); for($i=0;$i<100;$i++){ echo("<tr border='0'>"); for($x=0;$x<100;$x++){ if($i%2){ echo("<td border='0'>"); } else{ echo("<td bgcolor='blue' border = '0'>"); } echo("hi"); echo("</td>"); } echo("</tr>"); } echo("</table>"); ?> i want the blue lines to be solid w/o the white dashes. I would appreciate anything you could do for me. Thanks Dave Ok... I'm looking to create a border on the left and right of a table I have. I already have the image, but I'm curious as to how to impliment it, just on the left and right side.. Basically it'll make a drop shadow to the background of the page.
