I recon this one should be an easy one for you...but I have no html experience so help is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance Hello, On our intranet portal users will have access to post or request information from different departments. For this I would like to be a way to authenticate users whitout requesting them another pasword ( it hard enough when they have to change the Windows account password ). Every user have it's own computer account on only one computer. I was thinking at storing some information on cokies and then at "login" to compare it with data from database but the cokies can be deleted. For a few users which will have acces to confidential data the authentication will be made through username and password. Can you please tell me if is there another way to to do this? Thank you! A customer gave me a Word doc that they want turned into a printer friendly web page. I understand that there are tons of ways to do this but I really want the answer to the subject. What i'm referring to is a form that someone can print from the browser and "fill in the blanks" on the page where there are "underscores". My question is how to code those underscores. I tried manipulating the <hr> tag but it's putting way too much space in between each <hr>. I've already coded a "fill in the blank" line using <u> nbsp;</u> but that looks very messy. Cody Ok, currently on my site I have a bookmark link in my navigation bar (link is in my signature, also looking for reviews if you care to). However, I'm uncertain whether or not they really are worth it. I'm a self taught hobbyist webmaster so I'm not really "in the know" when it comes to some things. I'm just wondering, do bookmark links increase the frequency of people bookmarking your page? Do they just look like extra spam? I don't think I will keep mine up... it seems like even with it there it only works for IE and not mozilla or opera anyways. I'm running into IE 6 and 7 problems with the bug "Extra Whitespace in List Link Bug". I have applied the suggested Adobe fixes and some others found on-line but they don't seem to work. The problem is occurring in the two drop down menus in the top navigation. I also noticed some extra space at the top, above the content and the top of the browser window. These are only visible in IE 7 or lower. When one links to the resources outside his/her website should the target="_blank" attribute be used for the <a> tag? Normally I use target="_blank" for anything that is outside my website. But this question bothers me even more when I am creating a list of resources. Since, while viewing these lists user will be more interested in the resources than my website. Recently I came across the following opinion a lot times: If the user wants to come back to your site he has the back button and also he can use the "Open in new window" option if he wants the linked resource to open in new window. Whenever I view the (currently very basic) site in Firefox I get the line of code I entered as the title of this thread at the top of the page (directly above the banner) as if I had just typed it into the canvas area (correct term?). Hi there, Using fireFox I get the desired result, but when using IE I get the image on the *left* side?! this is my code (the header is a jsp page that has an image and user's info name and last logged in)) <td width="90%" valign="top" align="right"> <tiles:insert attribute='header'/> </td> as you can see the image (header) is align to the right, but IE pushes it to the left (I wrote center - and it still keeps on pushing it to the left) any idea why?? So I'm working on some "bulk" format emails for my work, and they're just basic HTML designed pages with a few images included in the coding (<img src="www.google.com/image.jpg"></img> ...for example). My problem is, not necessarily the format or design of the email itself, but rather that every time I send the email out, whether it be gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc, it prompts the recipient to download the images, either in full, or individually - as if they were attachments to the email itself. For example (this is what our recipients see when they recieve the email...aside from this, the email looks fine): The email displays correctly, but why does it prompt the recipient to download the images that are encoded in the message? Or better yet, why do other newsletter/bulk emails that I recieve from other companies NOT prompt me to download the individual images? What am I missing here? Thanks for the help! I myself am a beginner at html, and I was wondering if someone could (if possible) make it so that when a user clicks an image, the image will change to another image and will change back when someone clicks it again? I am looking for a way so that when a user clicks this: It turns into this: And back again when clicked again. I need this to show for all users too. So if a user on 1 computer clicks the button, it switches, and then a user on another comp sees the images clicked, and can click it to change it back to normal. Is there a way this is possible?
