HTML - Align Image To Top [was "help! Simple Thing I Can't Figure Out!"]
Hi All,
I'm working on http://www.thesuccessleague.com/hbbtsstart.php and I'm trying to get the red text box on the left (with the picture of a woman) at the very top. I'm sure there's a cleaner way to do it (I'm not an expert at div tags yet), so I put the text box in a table and put that table in another table (as you can see in the code). What code do I have to use to anchor that red text box to the top of that left column? Do I need to use div tags? And if so, how do I anchor it to the table (and not to specific coordinates measurade against the top and left margins)> Thanks for your help! Similar TutorialsHi there, Using fireFox I get the desired result, but when using IE I get the image on the *left* side?! this is my code (the header is a jsp page that has an image and user's info name and last logged in)) <td width="90%" valign="top" align="right"> <tiles:insert attribute='header'/> </td> as you can see the image (header) is align to the right, but IE pushes it to the left (I wrote center - and it still keeps on pushing it to the left) any idea why?? http://www.colletts.co.uk/winter_dolomites.htm I have the above page that redirects users to my Winter Website - the HTML below isn't valid W3C does anyone know of a better and valid way to get this done? Cheers, Mas HTML Code: <META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="2.5;URL=http://www.colletts.co.uk/winter/winter_dolomites.html" /> A customer gave me a Word doc that they want turned into a printer friendly web page. I understand that there are tons of ways to do this but I really want the answer to the subject. What i'm referring to is a form that someone can print from the browser and "fill in the blanks" on the page where there are "underscores". My question is how to code those underscores. I tried manipulating the <hr> tag but it's putting way too much space in between each <hr>. I've already coded a "fill in the blank" line using <u> nbsp;</u> but that looks very messy. What do you guys/gals think? I was hoping someone could clue me in as to whether or not this would be possible. I'm thinking it isn't but I need to make sure. I'd like to provide a file for people to download on my website, but when they click on the link and the download window appears I don't want them to have the option of opening it. Is it possible to only give them the option to save the file? Sounds incredibly unlikely but I gotta know. This may seem like a rather elementary question, but I'm doing a this for a school project and wanted some input on how this should be done. What I'm looking to do is to have a very simple text-input box on my page where the user would obviously type in some text, then a simple "post" button or something like that where when once clicked, the text typed by the user would just then appear above the box, possibly in a table? How simple/complicated is it to do this. I'm pretty familiar with html so once I get pointed in the right direction I should be fine. I don't want a blog or something where someone has to sign up with a user name or anything like that, just whoever visits the site can write text into the/a text input box and then it is shown after whatever text was typed by the user before them. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated. I am in need of something that will visit this website link I got, and click the "Vote" button 5 times, then delete the cookies/cache/passwords/etc., then click the "Vote" button another 5 times and repeat this process. I hope this all makes sense. Thanks guys. I have this: Code: <script language="Javascript1.2"> document.write('<a href=onMouseOut="MM_swapImgRestore()" onMouseOver="MM_swapImage('nav_email','','images/nav_email-over.gif',1)" "javascript:void(0)" onclick=window.open("/recommend/recommend.php?loc='+window.location.href+'","","height=280,width=230,top=150,left=300,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,status=no,resizable=0")><img src="images/nav_email.gif" alt="email page" name="nav_email" width="29" height="24" class="imgborder1"></a>'); </script> but the image wont show up. I have an image that has a mouseover/out rollover effect. I also have it pop up a new window with a "recommend this page to a friend" script. I can't figure out why the image wont show up, it's like it's invisible. Hi everyone. I've got a website up and running and it looks fab. I've allocated a page for comments or feedback - but setting it up is proving more difficult than I thought! I thought it would just be a simple case of creating/copying some HTML and away we go ... apparantly not I just want something where guests can leave their name a small comment. Nothing fancy really. I would like it to sit on an existing page though. Can anyone give me any tips on this? Hello, I want to load a page in a iframe, and when i do this, i want that page to be displayed not at the begining of that page, i want that page to be displayed at a "x" and "y" position specificated by me. How can i do that? Thank you. hi, i am working on <div> i have to hide some part of the table. I am not able to hide that table part can anybady tell me where is the error. Hey, I'm trying to write some code for expanding and concealing text You can see this in action at youtube when you click the (more) button to expand text. Suppose I had a heading: MyHeading and a body of text: MyTextHere How do I make it so that when you click MyHeading it makes MyTextHere (initially not visible) appear, and when you click MyHeading again, it makes MyTextHere disappear? Thanks Alot. Hi, I have a problem with validating Strict XHTML 1.0 ... The tag: "option" doesn't have an attribute: "onchange" in currently active versions.[XHTML 1.0 Strict]... Is there a way around this? Here's the code:. <select name="birth_month" onchange="form_d('yes');" size="1" style="width:8em"> <option<?php echo empty($a_birth_month)?' selected="selected"':''?> value="" onchange="form_d('yes');" >Month</option> Thanks Only another million pages to go. Hi all, I am currently working on a website using Dreamweaver CS3. Whenever I view the (currently very basic) site in Firefox I get the line of code I entered as the title of this thread at the top of the page (directly above the banner) as if I had just typed it into the canvas area (correct term?). Whenever I view it in IE it appears just fine, not sure about other browsers though. I began by creating a template and adding it to the page you see he HTML Code: http://www.geocities.com/makotronic/indexx.htm Here is the code for the template: Code: <%@LANGUAGE="JAVASCRIPT" CODEPAGE="65001"%> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="doctitle" --> <title>Template for Parish Website</title> <!-- TemplateEndEditable --> <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="head" --> <!-- TemplateEndEditable --> <style type="text/css"> <!-- body { margin-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; } body,td,th { font-family: Arial Narrow, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; } .style5 {font-size: 14px} --> </style></head> <body> <table width="750" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td colspan="2"><img src="../Images/welcomebanner.gif" width="750" height="125" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td width="160"><table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> </table></td> <td width="590" align="left" valign="top"><table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top"><!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="Main Body" -->Main Body<!-- TemplateEndEditable --></td> </tr> </table></td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> And for indexx.htm (I added a second 'x' because I already had a 'index.htm' file in GeoCities): Code: <%@LANGUAGE="JAVASCRIPT" CODEPAGE="65001"%> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/template.dwt.asp" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" --> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="doctitle" --> <title>Welcome to the Greencastle Parish Website</title> <!-- InstanceEndEditable --> <!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="head" --> <style type="text/css"> <!-- .style8 { font-size: 36px; font-weight: bold; } --> </style> <!-- InstanceEndEditable --> <style type="text/css"> <!-- body { margin-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; } body,td,th { font-family: Arial Narrow, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; } .style5 {font-size: 14px} --> </style></head> <body> <table width="750" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td colspan="2"><img src="Images/welcomebanner.gif" width="750" height="125" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td width="160"><table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> </table></td> <td width="590" align="left" valign="top"><table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td><!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="Main Body" --> <span class="style8">Header</span> <p class="style3">Main Body</p> <!-- InstanceEndEditable --></td> </tr> </table></td> </tr> </table> </body> <!-- InstanceEnd --></html> Cheers for any help! Niall Rather than write them out i took a screenshot. So how do i get past those? So I'm working on some "bulk" format emails for my work, and they're just basic HTML designed pages with a few images included in the coding (<img src="www.google.com/image.jpg"></img> ...for example). My problem is, not necessarily the format or design of the email itself, but rather that every time I send the email out, whether it be gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc, it prompts the recipient to download the images, either in full, or individually - as if they were attachments to the email itself. For example (this is what our recipients see when they recieve the email...aside from this, the email looks fine): The email displays correctly, but why does it prompt the recipient to download the images that are encoded in the message? Or better yet, why do other newsletter/bulk emails that I recieve from other companies NOT prompt me to download the individual images? What am I missing here? Thanks for the help! I myself am a beginner at html, and I was wondering if someone could (if possible) make it so that when a user clicks an image, the image will change to another image and will change back when someone clicks it again? I am looking for a way so that when a user clicks this: It turns into this: And back again when clicked again. I need this to show for all users too. So if a user on 1 computer clicks the button, it switches, and then a user on another comp sees the images clicked, and can click it to change it back to normal. Is there a way this is possible? In Javascript, PHP, or mysql? Thx Do you know of a javascript utility that when you select a small graphic on the screen, it calls up a larger graphic in another part of the same screen (not a popup)? I'm trying to create a gallery and am not having much success. Can someone help here. I have tried other groups and no help. I have a web page with image buttons. This is supposed to take me to difrent web pages depending on which button is clicked. This works in Firefox and Opera but not in IE8 http://www.des-otoole.co.uk/cms/admin/pages.php Desmond. I have a current background image for my forums, but I want to add another background image that will "float" to the bottom no matter how long the page is. How would I do that? |
