HTML - Help! Blog Good On Some Pages, Not In Others - Only In Mozilla
help!!!
i have been making my site mozilla friendly (for weeks now... tedious!) and it FINALLY looks decent in mozilla. but for some reason 8 of my 10 blog pages don't look right when viewed in mozilla. i added a small 5 pixel wide image that acts as a cellpadding -- and all pages look great in IE... FOR EXAMPLE in mozilla, this pages look fine: http://leilanimunter.com/blog9.htm while this one does not: http://leilanimunter.com/blog8.htm if i take out the image -- Images/banners/blogpadding.jpg then everything returns to normal. for some reason it is not lining up along my "previous entries" as it does on the other page. i cannot find where the code is different. anybody have any ideas? i really appreciate the help, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! Similar Tutorialsthere is my code. any reason why it looks good in chrome/safari but it looks bad in mozilla? in mozilla it has a bunch of lines going through it and the images are all seperated. any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, George Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>share</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" /> <style type="text/css"> body { background-color: #ffffff; background-image: url(../background-for-website.png); background-repeat: repeat-x; } #apDiv1 { z-index:1; } </style> </head> <body> <!-- Save for Web Slices (share.psd) --> <center> <table id="Table_01" width="792" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td colspan="5"> <img id="share_01" src="images4/share_01.png" width="791" height="155" alt="" /></td> <td> <img src="images4/spacer.gif" width="1" height="155" alt="" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="5"> <img id="share_02" src="images4/share_02.png" width="791" height="137" alt="" /></td> <td> <img src="images4/spacer.gif" width="1" height="137" alt="" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="5"> <img id="share_03" src="images4/share_03.png" width="791" height="142" alt="" /></td> <td> <img src="images4/spacer.gif" width="1" height="142" alt="" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="3" rowspan="2"> <img id="share_04" src="images4/share_04.png" width="544" height="70" alt="" /></td> <td> <div class="apDiv" id="apDiv"><a href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=https://www.facebook.com/pages/itunes-cards-for-free/200510223345141" target="_blank"> <img id="share_05" src="images4/share_05.png" width="137" height="21" alt="" /> </a></div> </td> <td rowspan="4"> <img id="share_06" src="images4/share_06.png" width="110" height="257" alt="" /></td> <td> <img src="images4/spacer.gif" width="1" height="21" alt="" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td rowspan="3"> <img id="share_07" src="images4/share_07.png" width="137" height="236" alt="" /></td> <td> <img src="images4/spacer.gif" width="1" height="49" alt="" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td rowspan="2"> <img id="share_08" src="images4/share_08.png" width="319" height="187" alt="" /></td> <td><a href="../page 5/redeem.html"><img src="images4/button.png" onmouseover="this.src='images4/button-3.png'" onmouseout="this.src='images4/button.png'"/></a> </td> <td rowspan="2"> <img id="share_10" src="images4/share_10.png" width="75" height="187" alt="" /></td> <td> <img src="images4/spacer.gif" width="1" height="30" alt="" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td> <img id="share_11" src="images4/share_11.png" width="150" height="157" alt="" /></td> <td> <img src="images4/spacer.gif" width="1" height="157" alt="" /></td> </tr> </table> </center> <!-- End Save for Web Slices --> </body> </html> Hi I've built a website for my karaoke show, and would like to add a blog page to the site. Rather than 3rd party, I'd prefer to have my own blog on my own domain to increase traffic for the SE crawlers. I was wondering... - what some good options are ie what blog software to use - if I can have a blog that somehow incorporates Facebook and Twitter (i've seen Facebook connect, but I'd like something that posts my blog messages to my Facebook and Twitter pages) I currently have a Typepad blog on there, but as I said, I'd prefer to have my own blog code, not third party. The site is www.billygoatkaraoke.com.au , and I'd really like the blog to stay on the site - I'm thinking that I'll have a blog page open up over the goat when someone clicks on the BLOG link. Cheers Shaun Hi I am new to this site, I am having problem in my non blog site. I was trying to integrate wordpress blog in my non blog site. I am nearly done only few issues. Here is the site http://www.zipanatomy.com/blog/ 1. the post titles are coming some other way, without linking and some coding. 2. down to the footer, I have called a footer.php file which is from the non blog site and is in the root directory, the problem here is, they are linking to the wordpress log folder. 3. And one more issue is when I click the categories and do any search from the sidebar, that are opening on the extreme right of the page instead of in center. please, advices from the pros where I am getting wrong. thanks in advance, chander I've made a lot of progress on my website: Bands 4 Babes but I'm still struggling with getting everything to look the same on all the different browsers. Basically what I'm finding is: Chrome and Safari (PC) - Displays exactly as I want it to Firefox 3.5.2 (PC) - Displays properly except for the Home link in the purple bar is a few PX too far left and the --- above home is a line too high Firefox and Safari on Mac - FF exhibit the same problem as above, but most fonts (sizes and faces) are off on the mac versions. This also throws off alignments of other stuff. IE8 - Two solid lines on top and bottom of page are a few pixels too low which ruins the continuity of the box frame I created. If somebody could take a look at my code and give me some thoughts on what the problem is I would really appreciate it. Thanks. This will be hard for me to explain so I will add an image: http://img75.imageshack.us/my.php?image=examplexu6.gif How do I go about loading a page within a page. For example, in the pic, if you clicked Cost it would load a page within the loading area without taking off to another location. I seen it on a site before, i remember the links were something like "/?p=cost" or something like that. And the page appeared to not navigate elsewhere, the cost page was just loaded within the page i was on. hope that makes sense, if so any examples on this? is it hard to do? messy? safe with most browsers? thanks Hi All, I've finally successfully gotten a blog up on my organizations website but I am having a lot of trouble getting it to look like the other pages. I used a template for my main page and tweaked it a lot (www.cleaneducation.org). The main template is mostly html with a css file. I had never seen how blogs were done until now and see that there is no html index at all but only a php file associated with a css file... So my question is how to I get my html/css template to convert to the necessary type (assuming php/css) for the blog. The blog is an internal blog for the directors (myself included) to keep in touch with one another and to keep up to date so if it's really hard to get it to look like the main template it isn't a huge deal but if it's possible I personally would prefer it. Oh yeah, I am using wordpress for my blogging software (really easy install through the hosting company I use). I am Blogging Special Focus on Technology, Blogging,Internet, Top News Stories, Online Money Making, Search Engine Related.Thank You for Reading This. Please! Simply Share your views. I use blogger and I have a search bar on my blog. It's on my navbar and I need to move it to the right so I can add more links but I don't know how to move it. Can I get some help please? I'm using a table - and I'm looking to have a border, thin blue bar, text, thin blue bar, then border. My HTML displays fine in Firefox, but it looks like junk in IE (fat lines MUCH larger than 5 pixels!). Can you help me by telling me why? Thanks Jason ----------------------------------------------------- <table> <tr height=5px> <td> </td> <td style="background-color: blue;"> </td> <td>My Text</td> <td style="background-color: blue;"> </td> <td> </td> </tr> </table> The bottom section of this page looks good in IE but not in Firefox... anyone know why? Here's a screenshot of the Firefox page: http://www.massagelaunch.com/firefoxtableproblem.jpg and you can see the IE version he www.massagelaunch.com (scroll all the way to bottom) I'm trying to create a spreadshirt layout that can go good with my website... freewebs.com/stevenwang Anyone have any ideas? litclothing.spreadshirt.com So, I have my logo which is a GIF with transparent background. I have placed it on a webpage that has a solid background using CSS. As my deveopment has been with ie8, its all been fine. I tried it on another computer which has ie7 and the image looks rough. The outside has a small white border and it does not sit nicely oin the background. I upgraded it to ie8 on that pc and now it all looks lovely again. Is there something I can do to make it look better on ie7? Trouble is, that's the only pc we have that had ie7 on it so I don't know if its all ie7, or something was up with that install. Thanks in advacnce. I have a webpage I put up and I have ie9 but I noticed under my daughters ie8 browser the fonts are all a diferant size. Checking the screen resolution on her laptop it is the same as on my comp so it must be the browser. I do not want to list the url to this page because I do not want the page listed in the search engines. So I attached as a txt file. Is there a fix for this? I know the header sucks under any screen res. but it is the fonts I am worried about. They are a differant size under ie8. Hey HTML Forum!! So im gettingr really frustrated with this problem I'm having with this HTML issue. I did all of the coding in dream weaver(Yea by coding I mean drag and drop )Everything looks great opened up in dream weaver. Then when I open it in a browser (IE and Firefox) everything is all chopped up. check this out. First shot is in DW, second shot is opened in IE: What do you guys think? This is only the second website I have done and havnt had much formal training so im kind of flying by the seat of my pants. Thanks in advance!!! EDIT: You can actually go to the home page and see how bad it looks. www.miattconstruction.com the home page isnt AS bad but go to project or contacts and the pages get worse. what up everyone, im new to HTML, but basically i made a blog.. www.thecapitaldigest.com ok well i need help, im using word press and im using someones template for my site. I want to change the main picture on the site(the nyc) to one of my own..can anyone help me with this? ive tried changing it but it goes blank... if you reload my site the main nyc pic changes its on random pic...can anyone hook it up? it would be very appreciated! I have a website build with frames. I have a section called "News" that I want to be able to put the most updated news in, similar to a blog. I want a blog style interface, that way I don't have to edit the HTML of the page every time I want to add a new piece of news. I do not want an SQL based blog however. I've looked into some PHP based blogs, but it "looks" too much like another website loading inside this frame (which I know it IS, but I don't want to give that appearance). My website is *White* so is there a solution to adding new news in a blog style format without an entire blog inside the frame? I just want to be able to easily add new news to an HTML page without actually going in an editing the HTML. How do other websites deal with adding news to a news page so that a client could easily edit their own news? Thanks! Hi, EDIT: Problem fiixed. Hello knowledgable HTMLforum gurus. I have a client that would like a blog feature on her site, so that she can update one of the pages with announcements, etc. Is there some free code anywhere that I can use to accomplish this? I'd like the code to be able to archive old entries and have a search function if possible... Also, I need to have the blog section fit into the same design scheme as the rest of the site that I will be creating, so outsourcing to blogspot or something like that is out of the question. Does anyone know of any freeware that can accomplish this? Thanks in advance, hous edit: please forgive the placement of this thread - not sure where this belongs. |
