HTML - Locking A Frame Question
Hello All,
This one has me stumped. I have a frame dividing my screen into two sections, a top window and a bottom window. I can scroll down my table and the header stays put. My problem comes when I open my table in a window that is too narrow to display the full width of the table. A horizontal scroll bar properly appears at the bottom of the page so I can move left or right to view individual columns in the table. However, I would like to lock the header, top window, so that as I scroll horizontally with the horizontal scroll bar, the header moves left and right with the body, no separate horizontal scroll bar needed for the header. Is this possible? Or am I breaking some sort of law of physics? Any help appreciated. I thought I had cracked this nut a couple of years ago but can't find the file. Charlie Similar TutorialsLets say I have an HTML frameset with 3 rows. When the the browser window size is adjusted and decreased, the bottom two frames begin to shrink and overlap the top frame. How can I make it so the "space" is taken from the bottom frames first? My boss has asked me to make a sort of...main user page. The employees will log in to this 'main page' (did this using php) and then they can get access to their time sheets, expense sheets and other things. Im just wondering the best way to do a lay out is.. I need to have the company logo in the top. and then I was thinking a bar just under that with all the different options. then underneath that will appear all the info. Say they pic time sheet, it would appear underneath. I was reading on w3, and I was reading about frames...but when I go to use them phpDesigner v6.2.3, i just get red underlined syntax errors, which leads me to believe they arent correct to use anymore (granted they do get the job done when i preview my page ) If you can tell me what I should research up on, that would be great. want this done so that it doesn't show the address changing in the address bar and also would like to NOT have any scroll bars and it work on both IE and FF. i have done this in the past just can't remember how i done this before. thanks in advance Normally when I add a background image to a frame the image repeats itself in a tiled fashion, you know what I mean. Is there any way to change this so it only shows the background image once. I don't want tiled. Thanks!! Arc. Hello, First off let me say thanks for checking this posting out. I am sort of stumped on this one however. My question is I have an inline frame that is holding data from a txt file. What I would like to do is take the data the inline frame is displaying and copy it to the clipboard using a button. Below are links to the images and the code I am using... -WinUser2003 Is there any way for me to hide the scroll bar? Any way to lock it? When im designing/editing tables, using dreamweaver, is there any way I can lock them as they are? Because, I find when I start adjusting other columns or rows it affects the rest of the table. Is there a simple way to 'lock' them in place once I am happy with them? Hi, I was just wondering if there was a way to sort of "lock" a table so that when you put too much text into it, it won't let you put anymore in when you get to the limit. I'm currently using dreamweaver. Hey everyone, I'm in need of some html help. It's hard to explain this but here goes. I am trying to lock an image to the browser on a website that will work in ie and other browsers. What I mean by this is, I want the image to stay exactly to top right hand corner of the browser and its locked here as if its in front of everything else. I have seen this done before where people have had a make poverty history image on their website which looks as if its attached to the browser. I hope someone can help because i'm not sure how else to explain this but really want to know how to do it. My basic problem is this: the tables in my website are not locked once the website is run, thereby enabling the user to adjust the width of the table and seriously mess up the content. I'll explain my background a bit first so maybe I wont get a bunch of messages telling me to just use CSS. Now, I understand that I probably shouldn't be using tables, but I inherited webmaster duties on my companys website from somebody else and I am stuck with his original design. I also got stuck with frames, and I realize that is a great sin, but again, I gotta work with what I got at least for now. So heres my problem My site has three frames, header, left menu, and the content. The content frame has a table with three columns, one column full of words, one small column for spacing, and a third column on the far right for a picture. When the page is run in IE (but not Mozilla) the user can grab the left border of the content table and move it around, screwing it up. Is there some way to lock the table so this can't occur. How is this normally managed. How to solve this problem, Regards, Vinutha. hey guys, im looking for a way of cutting down the amount the visitor to my site has to download, as well and speed of loading betweens pages, ive attached an image of how to site looks so far, i have rows of links on eith side, on the top, and a row going down the center i wish to display in. If the user clicks on a link from anyside i would like only the center text to change and leave the links and header, saveing on size of the web pages on the server and the amount the user has to download i looked around and found frames would be an answer but there god dam confusing and it seems they come attached with a scroll bar where as i would like the page to simply feed downwards is there any way of keeping the outer part like a template and like i said just have the links replace the text with what ever the topic? |
